The article Riyaz Punjabi has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Hi, I wanted to give you a personal note on this, too. Please understand that the proposed deletion on Riyaz Punjabi does not mean that the article cannot stay, or that it is a bad article. The key, though, is that we have a rule (found in WP:BLP) that says that all biographies of living people (we often use the acronym BLP) must have at least 1 valid, reliable source. You have 1 week to find at least 1 such reliable source, although ideally you will add more and provide sources for all of the information. Let me know if I can be of any help in this process, or if you have questions about what constitutes a reliable source. Qwyrxian (talk) 07:30, 26 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for adding those! I'm not certain that they all meet our reliable source guidelines, but they're an excellent start, and I think enough for it to pass the minimum requirements of WP:BLP. I'll try to remember to check back in to the article in a few days and see how it's coming--a first glance makes me feel that the article is a little bit promotional. Wikipedia requires that all articles have a neutral tone, so we need to make sure that the claims are not giving opinions about Punjabi or his work. But thanks again for the sources and the work on the article in general. You're always welcome to ask me any questions you might have. Qwyrxian (talk) 08:31, 26 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
