Welcome
Hi Mysid, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thanks for your contributions to the coolest online encyclopedia I know of =). I sure hope you stick around; we're always in need of more people to create new articles and improve the ones we already have. You'll probably find it easiest to start with a tutorial of how the wikipedia works, and you can test stuff for yourself in the sandbox. When you're contributing, you'll probably find the manual of style to be helpful, and you'll also want to remember a couple important guidelines. First, write from a neutral point of view, second, be bold in editing pages, and third, use wikiquette. Those are probably the most important ones, and you can take a look at some others at the policies and guidelines page. You might also be interested in how to write a great article and possibly adding some images to your articles.
Be sure to get involved in the community – you can contact me at my talk page if you have any questions, and you can check out the village pump, where lots of wikipedians hang out and discuss things. If you're looking for something to do, check out the community portal. And whenever you ask a question or post something on a talk page, be sure to sign your name by typing ~~~~.
Again, welcome! It's great to have you. Happy editing! --Spangineer (háblame) 11:20, July 19, 2005 (UTC)

Stop putting the speedy delete tag on Lisa Shock's entry
Stick to subjects you know something about. Lisa Shock is an important figure and obviously someone feels so. Now stop putting the speedy delete tag on there.
- I didn't put the speedy tag there. Someone else did, you removed it, I reverted. Wait for the admin to check the relevance of the speedy tag. –Mysid (talk) 07:38, July 22, 2005 (UTC)
I didn't remove it. I created the article.
- Please sign your talk posts, then. Using ~~~~ is handy for that purpose. –Mysid (talk) 07:42, July 22, 2005 (UTC)
I didn't know how to sign them but that doesn't remove the validity of my argument. See below. Sorry if I didnt do it right. 24.165.29.82 07:46, 22 July 2005 (UTC)
If you want something about which to be upset, try looking at the entry for Sashanan which is libel and slander, not to mention completely false. The Lisa Shock article is completely true and is actually about a noted memeber of the videogame industry.24.165.29.82 07:47, 22 July 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks. I'm not upset, just reverted. Of course you may remove the tag, just explain it in the edit summary. –Mysid (talk) 07:51, July 22, 2005 (UTC)
Well I don't know how to explain it in the edit summary. But the fact that the wiki-police are seemingly so hawkish over an article that may or may not be about something of import yet ignore completely fallacious articles designed to merely slander another individual (albiet cleverly) makes me wonder about the efficacy of the system and of the idea of wiki journalism as a whole. When an article is able to withstand a quick-delete process and still stands despite its use of an altered photo of the person of whom it is designed to mock, despite the fact that it makes poorly veiled accusations of pedophelia and links to sites with blatant libelous material including criminal activity is allowed to stand without deletion, an entry about a notable industry figure is marked for quick deletion thrice within hours of creation for "vanity and unimportance" there are serious questions raised and it leads me to think that this system is not working.24.165.29.82 08:05, 22 July 2005 (UTC)
- The Edit summary box is below the edit box, above the Save page button. –Mysid (talk) 08:22, July 22, 2005 (UTC)

Requesting comments on template alteration
Hello. I see you are using one or more of the User instruments templates in your Babel box. Inspired by some recent developments, I want to rework all the templates in there (including ones used on user pages), to make them more like the regular Babel templates. However, I thought I should hear from the people this would affect before actually doing it. Please weigh in at User:Ddawson/User instruments. Ddawson 10:07, 6 September 2005 (UTC)

coats of arms/seals etc.
Is {{coatsofarms}} different to [[Category:Coats of Arms Images]]? Sorry didnt realise, it looked like sloppy editing on the face of it... Do images with [[Category:Seals]] disappear from coats of arms images even if they retain {{coatsofarms}}? 80.177.152.156
- Ok, thanks for that. Methinks I'll do as you suggest, as patently a seal is entirely different to a coat of arms. Thanks for the assistance.. 80.177.152.156
- Further to our earlier conversation, there is I've just noticed a Template:Seal, with the wording
- "This logo is a seal of a local government or one of its government agencies, and may be subject to copyright and/or trademark. It is believed that seal may be exhibited on Wikipedia under the fair use provision of United States copyright law. Use of the seal here does not imply endorsement of the organization by Wikipedia or the Wikimedia Foundation, nor does it imply endorsement of Wikipedia or the Wikimedia Foundation by the organization. See Wikipedia:Logos and Wikipedia:Copyrights."
- Can you see any problem moving images which are obviously seals from Template:coatsofarms, to Template:seals? If not, I'll get on with it.
- 80.177.152.156
- A city seal would seem to be the seal of the government of a city (be that a district council, a borough coucil or whatever), therefor do you not think that counts as a local government? The article on local government would seem to indicate it might (to my way of reading it anyhow), any thoughts?

Re: Copa Libertadores logo
Hey, about that Copa Libertadores logo - it looks good, and it does make the jpeg redundant, so feel free to vfd it. Just one thing - the jpeg has the South American continent in green, but your version has it black. Is this right? Otherwise, good work. Tiefighter 12:12, 20 September 2005 (UTC)
- Oh, I thought it was black and so didn't pick the exact color – might be my dark monitor. Thanks for noticing. Mysid (talk) 12:42, 20 September 2005 (UTC)

Hi there; thanks for your note. No problem! Just attribute me, if necessary. There are also other flag images (namely Canadian, but others too) I created and may need to be optimised. Thanks again! E Pluribus Anthony 13:14, 22 September 2005 (UTC)

Flag images
While I thank you for uploading flag images to Wikipedia, but their images are not allowed on here. Wikipedia forbids the use of non-commercial images since May of 2005, and FOTW said at [1] that their images can only be used for non-commercial purposes. Here is the ruling about non-commercial images from Wikipedia [2]. Zach (Sound Off) 03:39, 4 October 2005 (UTC)

Qwerty.svg
It needs a smaller viewbox so that it's more legible when displayed at a smaller size in a page. Also, I'm not really sure what the point of embedding the Arial font in the SVG file is -- it increases the file-length of the SVG file, and makes it look horrible in Adobe SVG viewer plugin (which has its peculiarities, but is pretty much a reference implementation). AnonMoos 19:14, 11 October 2005 (UTC)
- Yes -- open the SVG file in a text editor, and you'll see the text viewBox="0 0 800 402". This should be changed to something more like viewBox="20 26 757 383" (and the width="800px" height="403px" nonsense changed to width="100%") so that the text will display at maximum size when the picture is rendered at smaller pixel dimensions.
- Save the file in your Corel application in PS or vector EPS format (instead of SVG format) and e-mail the file to me, and I can produce an SVG file that without technical issues... AnonMoos 18:41, 12 October 2005 (UTC)

I stopped editing Macedonia articles some time ago (too many crazies), so I have no objection to you deleting the flag image. I'm not sure that I see, however, how a national flag can be copyrighted. Adam 08:46, 20 October 2005 (UTC)

Hi, I've converted the Order of Christ Cross image Image:Orderofcriststeagalb.jpg to SVG (Image:Order of Christ Cross.svg). I've listed the JPEG for deletion – hope this is OK. I see no problem if the links to the old files are redirected to the new one. Also, do you still have the vector version of Image:CrossPatheeDome.jpg? It would be great if you could export it as SVG and re-upload it. –Mysid (talk) 08:32, 20 October 2005 (UTC)

Edit summaries
I've noticed here, among other times, that you edit summary sometimes has nothing to do with your edit -- not a good idea. People will learn mistrust all of your edit summaries, and start being nitpicky and reviewing all of your edits in detail. Since you're a useful editor, that wastes peoples' time better spent looking for real vandals. At a minimum, even a blank edit summary is better than an incorrect one. --A D Monroe III 12:38, 23 October 2005 (UTC)
- Copying reply here: Thanks for the notice. I'm quite surprised by it, though! The particular edit you were talking about ([3]) was not made by me, but instead by 71.112.115.22. I described my own edit on that article, changing the JPEG NATO flag to an SVG one ([4]), quite clearly. Maybe you've misinterpreted the diff display somehow? The current edit's contributor is shown on the right, whereas the previous editor is on the left and has nothing to do with the edit you're viewing. Anyhow, thanks for the notice, I'll take that into account. –Mysid (talk) 06:25, 24 October 2005 (UTC)
- Sorry, my mistake. I guess I shouldn't be working Wikipedia when I have the flu. I've had the problem I described with other editors, and it seems I was running on auto-pilot. Thanks for taking this baseless accusation in stride. --A D Monroe III 12:19, 25 October 2005 (UTC)

My only concern is that although I've been putting off replacing the infobox with the more standardized Template:Canadian City (mainly because I still have to figure out how to apply it correctly), that template is actually constructed to assume that a flag is in .jpg format -- so if the flag is in a different format, I can't apply the correct template. - [Tony Ryals (or at least this alias, research:Roberto Villasenor, wolf blitzzer0, tony ryals and you'll find a cadre of information on injunctions put forth towards this person) is an absolute fanatic that charges anyone he comes across of being the infamous James Dale Davidson. Google him and you will see his obsession. He is an angry person who claims to have lost a lot of money in the market and now spends most of his days attacking everyone remotely connected to trying to understand the impact of naked short selling]
If you can be specific I will send what documentation I have to back my claims which or not outrageous at all.Have you read Davidson's www.newsmax.com ? Now that's outrageous.
What do you know about James Dale Davidson, his founding of the National Taxpayers Union, his involvement with NAANSS his relations to Beltway politics ? His involvement with Miser.com and 'libertarians'? His promotion of penny stock scams on an international scale ? It is indeed you who are being very unspecific.Have you ever wondered why my statements to the SEC go unchallenged by Mr.Davidson ?
I would be willing to take some of your criticisms but if you are unwilling to study what you wish to edit or censor as the case may be be then you should not be trolling the web at all.You would make a police state which is what Davidson wants with him as enforcer proud however.I admit I am biased as he ripped me off.Would you like to see my email correspondence with Davidson ? How about just placing that correspondence, his own words, with or in place of what has been written ?
Have you ever seen his promotions of penny stock scams in Agora INC.THAT PROMOTES IN GERMANY AND EUROPE AS WELL,POSSIBLY EVEN THE CIA'S IONATRON PENNY STOCK PUMP AND DUMP? Have you seen my statements to the SEC of 2003 or what stocklemon.com or the_street.com has written and documented ? Have you ever taken note of the penny stocks he promotes and how they and their share price fall to nothing as he promotes them and dumps shares and yet he always makes a profit off dumping those shares and defrauding investors ? Did you even know he was an international penny stock promoter ?
How about just putting up,not Davidson's silly right wing quotes about the poor being a nuicance and to help them just breeds more, but his own penny stock touting from Agora Inc. ? Yes I had planned to put links but I am all over the internet trying after years to expose his frauds and those of a massive supposed 'anti-naked shorting' scam that is really used to mask his and his cohorts illegal pump and dump of penny stocks, including in Europe.
Rather than you trolling to be dictator of the Wikipedia how about bringinging in a third party ? I will provide James Davidson's own quotes and links to Agora Inc.,The National Tapayers Union and meetings of Agora.Inc with CIA Tenet for penny stock promotions etc.You can edit it take out 'suckers'or 'marks' and replace it with victims of Agora Inc.'s illegal pump and dump scams if you want to.Do you like Davidson's post 911 deals in Dubai ? As an American I don't.
So I will and have provided some facts,I can provide links. How do you feel about stock fraud and the profits possibly going for international crime ? Have you seen Canterbury of New Zealand's research on Davidson from 1995 ? What do you think about that ? Do you think the Kiwis were being biased as well ? Can you tell me when and where Mr.Davidson was born ? When he graduated from Oxford and how he became a Rhodes scholar ? I will put that in.But you see Mr.Davidson is the one who keeps much out because he apppears to have much to hide.
Do you wish to interview him about his involvement with his admitted right wing causes in Washington D.C. and elsewhere ? I still have an email address that might work from 2004 ? And I will send you our email correspondence but it is on internet a google search for you to find if you were really serious about research. What other wikipedia material have you taken an interst to edit,or more so as you state,to erase entirely ?
He wrote a piece about me himself in Agora Inc. Have you seen it ? Do you want to ? He refers to me as an anonymous poster 'crazy dog' even though he knew who I was and continued lies about penny stocks he promoted and dumped as being 'naked shorted' ? I'm afraid you no nothing about what you are talking about and you yourself should do some research before criticising. How did you come to hear about Mr.Davidson, what brought you to that site ?
Have you googled James Dale Davidson and looked at the namebase.com site ? I actually believe it is Davidson who runs the fraudulent ncans.net but I did not asy so on Wikipedia.Do you believe what he says about 'naked shorting' in penny stocks and do you know his history of international penny stock scams ? You are like one who claims Al Capone is an honest man just because his government sits back and allows him to operate for years and does nothing.
What do you know about his Beltway activities ? Why don't you write something and lets criticise or eulogize that rather than trying to censor an American who pays everyday for James Dale Davidson's frauds and wishes for others to be warned about them ?
Have you seen his own right wing, far right wing,newsmax.com that tried to blame ex CIA Colby's death(Davidson's eployee before his death) on Clinton ? But instead Christopher Ruddy, his British smear writer, discloses someone in their circle predicted Colby's death a month in advance.Have you read any critical reviews of that smear and how Davidson paid a 'handwriting' expert of Oxford whose conclusions contradicted the FBI ? OR HOW RUDDY EVEN LIED ABOUT HIS HANDEDNESS,BEING RIGHT HANDED OR LEFT HANDED TO SUIT HIS SMEAR AND HOW HE WOULD HAVE HELD THE GUN ? I never even say conspiracy only amazing coincidence and I only note it as a fact.
You see I don't know who you are or why you choose to either defend Davidson or censor his critics. How do I know you are a 20 year old student in Finland ?Does anyone at Wikipedia verify your story ?
What I find most presumpyuos about you is the fact that you would seem to have no experience of the U.S.AND THE U.S.GOVERNMENT DAVIDSON HAS BEEN BEHIND THE SCENES OF AND MANIPULATING FOR YEARS. If you are not a victim what is your beef ?
I really don't even know how or where to send this so I'll press save and hope it reaches you.You can send any communication to me by way of [email removed] or if there is a means just to continue it here and or bring in a referee that's fine.
Sincerely Tony Ryals — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.230.150.7 (talk • contribs) 19:20, November 9, 2005
- You are correct in that I know absolutely nothing about James Dale Davidson and his views. However, Wikipedia has a policy of writing from a neutral point of view, even when writing about controversial or emotional subjects. Please follow the link to read more about it. I'd be happy to see your additions rewritten in a neutral manner, if that's possible. Thanks! –Mysid (talk) 07:53, 10 November 2005 (UTC)
Mysid, Good to hear from you.You do a google search,'naanss' to see what I sent to SEC in late 2003'(Davidson,Brent Pierce et.al.have disappeared their scam 'anti-naked short selling' website but proof of its existence remains and I believe www.ncans.net is DAVIDSON CONNECTED STILL) or 'naanss ncans' for more indymedia etc. article-posts of mine,or james dale davidson bob o'brien',or 'utah senator bennett striptease',or 'james angel georgetown ncans',or 'john reed stark sec georgetown ncans',or do google 'endoscam',or 'cia tenet penny stocks'.
I note you have some interest in the environment, maybe science ? Do a google search 'pope's misconceptions',then after that do a google of 'pope's misconceptions conception phosphates mining florida justus von liebig aristotle galileo' and you will get some idea I'm the only one who wrote that particular area of scince and western history. To see my willingness to debate or argue or show proofs of my arguments,do google search,'does oxford.indymedia censor religious criticism scince history'.Then google pietro redondi phosphates'.
If you wish I will find links to any statement I have made re Davidson for you to judge for yourself, then if you have suggestions for taking any of those facts and making them more neutral in writing style then please help.Yes help me put the credible references together.I am more an editorial writer I guess than an encyclopedia writer but even then I try to be honest and stick with facts.
Sincerely Tony Ryals — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.230.150.7 (talk • contribs) 10:46, November 10, 2005
- That would be nice! You might put those links and their descriptions to the Davidson article, maybe after the sentences they are related to. I can then arrange them under a specific References heading with "footnotes", conforming to the Wikipedia style guidelines, from the article text. Reading the neutral point of view policy might help you a lot. Also you could avoid writing in first person voice, or making any claims which are based on your original, unreferenced research or personal opinions. An editorial style of writing is definitely quite inappropriate for encyclopedia articles, where only facts that can be accepted by practically everyone can be stated. I must say I don't have the energy right now to make myself familiar with the Davidson case, so I can't assist you with the actual rewriting. –Mysid (talk) 10:20, 10 November 2005 (UTC)
some links there but I have placed them with my
statements yet or removed the personal style.
Mysid I just put some links below the article,I am so caught up in the stock scam of Davidson I was caught up in I still have trouble doing the encyclopedic like writing and also, likeI said, who kows when he was born, who James Dale Davidson I and II were ? No where on the internet do you find any of that to my knowledge.
The 'Bob O'Brien' alias who runs ncans.net with a Mary Campbell Helburn,do google 'mary helburn los altos' and 'mary helburn ncans ohio',(you will be amazed what she says about SEC employees)is in my opinion Davidson or works real close.Note on blogmaverick.com from February until he posted the comment below on Yahoo NFI board on June 2he claimed never to have heard of Davidson tlill I brought him up. But I think Jesse Eisinger of Wall Street Journal shook him up that day with some discoveries,so note he say 'cell phones donations to ncans' 'boat' and 'james davidson'.So presumably Davidson is paying for ncans phones, etc.,besides Byrne of Overstock.com.
Yes someone here should ask to do an interview if anyone can find him or Agora Inc.or National Taxpayers Union can locate him or the email I have still works but I don't think he wants to be in wikipedia.I have claimed that if I provided the writing of Davidson and Bob O'brien a plagiarism expert would conclude they were the same person. Tony Ryals
FROM YAHOO NFI BOARD JUNE 2 IN WHICH 'ncansd3' or 'BOB O'BRIEN' HINTS OF JAMES DALE DAVIDSON CONNECTION FOR FIRST TIME:
Re: Send, or not? Comment, or copy? RVA by: ncansd3 Long-Term Sentiment: Strong Buy 06/02/05 12:02 am Msg: 310727 of 333497
I would add that copies of emails in which Mr. Eisinger cites very granular banking info regarding NCANS deposits are available if they wish to email me.
What is actually funniest to me is that through all of this, the reporter hasn't considered that he might have found a guy who contributes to NCANS and has used his cash to help the cause - but is someone different than me. Someone who actually has been very helpful with things like procuring anonymous cell phones and the like, but is no more Bob O'Brien than the Granny he went to terrorize. Oh well, I'm sure it will all make great theater, and the attorneys are likely to have a ball with it. Like I said in the beginning - they require a Bob O'Brien at all costs, and it really doesn't matter much whether he is the genuine article or not at the end of the day.
And I'm not telling - not going to do it. Kind of pisses everyone off, I can tell. Sorry guys. But I'm quite sure you have the right guy - keep on keeping on - he sounds like a bad 'un to me. Very mysterious. I was told a sandwich shop was involved. One shudders to think what goes on there. And a boat. I think it's named the James Davidson. It is all unclear at present. Or maybe the sandwiches are subs - those are marine sounding.
Actually, I do kind of wish it was me. Not that it isn't. Or is. Or may be. Or not.
But what I do know is that violating federal laws is a no no last time I checked - and if what they discovered was a big donor to the cause - I hope it was worth someone going to jail over. That's what happens when you violate federal law, I think - I haven't done any federal lawbreaking, so couldn't tell you.
So what do we have at the end of all of this? People who can easily be shown to do anything it takes to get their way, regardless of the law, and who aren't bright enough to get that they are holding nothing. Capital N. Nada. Which they will ultimately find out, as do most who have nothing, over time. In the meanwhile, I think maybe this will be a good mechanism to launch the fiction book - it's about a corrupt, criminally linked hedge fund who sets out to crush a company as part of its serial killing mechanism, who uses the press to do its dirty work and considers itself above the law due to its political contacts, and decides to go after a guy that creates a website that exposes their scheme and creates considerable difficulty for them. I even have a corrupt reporter or two in it. Sort of wrote itself. I think it's a good read. Fast, and believe it or not, has a few similarities to real life.
Have to figure out how to get it out there. I suspect now is the time.
Oh well, good night all. Thanks for all the FBI and WSJ complaints - they will follow up, and they don't just poo poo this sort of thing when it involves attorney trust accounts and feloniously obtained bank records.
We shall see what the day brings.

James Dale Davidson in his own words about his 'naked short' securities frauds and penny stock pump and dump activity.Although to promote a stock for purpose of dumping shares is illegal, the SEC looks the other way.I am the 'crazy dog' of his obsessions and was posting on ragingbull.com as did others to warn about his anti-naked short fraud 'NAANSS' used to divert attention of naive investors from the act that it was him dumping shares and not brokers 'naked shorting'.Mr.Davidson was founder of Agora Publications that has touted numerous questionable penny stocks over years years and has numerous websites and mail fraud scams.Agora even promoted CIA invested penny stock Ionatron that CIA insiders dumped :

Lies, Lies, Lies: Stalkers Meet the Stock Market
It is hard to imagine a retiree or a housewife with time on her hands suddenly deciding to make a hobby of posting anonymous slanders on the GeneMax thread. But one can read dozens of embittered messages there complaining of everything but the real problem. For example, some bozo whose screen name translates to "crazy dog" recently posted an outrageous slander of me: "Does Davidson, as founder of National Taxpayers Union, ever pay taxes on fraud pump-dumps he"s orchestrated using "naked shorting" as a subterfuge to mask his fraud?" In one sentence he manages to falsely imply that I have engaged in a whole range of felonies. I don"t know whether to feel flattered that the naked short sellers find me so formidable an opponent that they would stoop to anonymous smears, or to hire a bodyguard.
In any event, I would hope that Mr. "crazy dog" is well paid for his pains. With the possible exception of a few demented people I"ve crossed paths with, I can"t imagine anyone other than stalkers and major parishioners of naked short selling being so obsessed with me. And what humanitarian motive could explain the smears they pour down on GeneMax - a company that if it can raise sufficient funding may possibly help cure cancer? Go figure.
The Electronic Counterfeiter"s Worst Nightmare: Circle Group Holdings Rallies 30,000%
The worst nightmare of naked short sellers is that the companies they attack should survive and actually succeed. When that happens, as recently occurred in the case of Circle Group Holdings Inc. (CXN: AMEX), the counterfeiters are obliged to enter the market and buy the duly authorized shares of the capital stock of the company they have sold. CXN rose by nearly 30,000%, from 3 cents to almost $9, as naked short sellers were obliged to buy and deliver shares they counterfeited prior to CXN"s move to the AMEX.
When you think of what happened in the case of Circle Group Holdings, you can see why the malicious charges leveled against me by anonymous smear-mongers on Web sites are ridiculous. If their assertions that I was orchestrating naked short selling were correct, I would hardly have become one of the leading critics of the practice. Nor would I continue to champion the causes of the companies I had "sent under" by allegedly selling wave after wave of electronically counterfeited stock.
And as the example of CXN demonstrates, the damage done to the share prices of companies targeted for destruction by electronic counterfeiters is also a measure of their upside potential - for everyone but the counterfeiters.
Of course, even the most virulent rantings of Mr. "crazy dog" are unlikely to carry much weight with thinking people. To orchestrate more effective smears, the electronic counterfeiters needed a more apparently credible platform. An Internet site called our-street. com emerged to fill the market arising from naked short sellers for seemingly trustworthy smears of small-cap companies that threaten to succeed.
Thus for one reason or another, our-street. com and its marquee character, who writes under the pseudonym Nick Tracy, stepped up to service this market. Our-street immediately began hurling accusations about securities violations left and right. I first became aware of Nick Tracy and his tendentious exposés when someone sent me a copy of an hysterical attack he did on ChampionLyte Products (CPLY: OTCBB) , a company in which I and a group of investors took a portfolio interest as it attempted to restructure its balance sheet and realize the potential of its low-carb sports drink.

My correspondence with Davidson and threats from O'Brien

endoscam@lycos.com
In 2004 I decided to finally contact Mr.James Dale Davidson personallY,as the Endovasc fraud continued and the SEC did nothing.Below is that correspondence which,in my opinion, might be used by a plagiarisn expert along with James Dale Davidson's fraudulent penny stock promotions found in Agora's 'Vantage Point' or elsewhere to discover if there is a link between Davidson and 'Bob O'Brien' or 'NAANSS' and 'NCANS'.
My correspondence with Mr.James Dale Davidson himself:
Note James Dale Davidson founded 'NAANSS'to mask his own share dumping after illegally using his many internet websites and use of the mail to send out his fraudulent promotions of his many penny stock scams.Note he continues to blather on and on about electronic trading creating counterfit shares. And it's all a lie to mask his share-money laundering operation.
James Dale Davidson replies: By tony ryals on 3/20/2004 8:10:43 PM E-mail: tryals@angelfire.com 'James Dale Davidson' answers,or avoids answering,as the case may be, Ryals email:
Dear Mr. Ryals,
Who are you? I infer from your rantings below that you are delusional. But perhaps more than that? Perhaps you are malicious, and in the employ of electronic counterfeiters who have feasted on the corpses of small public companies ever since the advent of electronic clearing? I can think of no other motivation that would explain your letter. By and large, normal people do not sit around inventing malicious fantasies about someone they don't even know.
Obviously, you have your own agenda, so you are unlikely to be swayed by anything I might say. I recognize that. But for what it's worth, I have never been involved in any "pump and dump" exercise. For the record, you have been warned. I would advise you not to repeat your malicious slanders in a public forum, or I shall be obliged to take legal action for redress.
Sincerely, James Davidson
P.S. By the way, your search for a company I have been involved with which was a success for its investors could not have been very diligent. As it happens, there was a long op ed piece in the Washington Post this week by a small investor who made so much money following my advice that filing his taxes had become a burden for him.
Tony Ryals wrote:
Dear Mr.James Dale Davidson, I have meant to contact you for some time regarding my Endovasc 'investment'.I have no idea when you left the 'company' but by the time you did it had dumped millions of shares while fraudulently claiming the 'shareholder value' was the result of Schwab's,Ameritrade's, Refco's,et.al.'s, 'naked shorting. Was 'famed trial attorney O'Quinn'perhaps misled to believe that all those shares were the result of 'naked shorting' rather than the apparent pump dump operation it turned to be ?
I also noted you were greatly responsible for founding the 'naanss' group that blamed most shareholder penny stock losses on 'naked shorting'.Is this just a smoke screen for defrauding Americans and laundering their money through massive share dumping that cannot easily be tracked ? Was the account Mr.Cantrell set up at Schwab with an insider for millions of seemingly free shares a part of your November 2002 pump dump ?
I have looked continuously for a company you have been involved with that was a success for its shareholder-investors. And you know I can't seem to find one although for some reason you always appear to have pumped and dumped the stock through your own myriad publications. Sometimes I believe 'The Soveriegn Individual'explains your own modus operendi of using the internet for anonymously influencing naive investors to buy while you dump the shares you have gotten for free from penny stock 'management' and then use your offshore shells including 'LOM' anmd 'New Paradigm' among many others to hide launder that money you stole from Americans so as not to pay taxes on the theft. That is doubly humorous and fraudulent coming from one who pretends to be an American patriot, even involving yourself in political intrigue, and who prides in having founded the 'National Taxpayers Union'.
Also you have claimed publically the the 'SEC lies'. This I will not comment on but to say they rarely say anything at all.And only through 'freedom of information act' can you get a thing out of them. However you also tell me in your 'Vantage Point'that you received a few shares of Endovasc by way of a 'nicotine patent'that you applied for with 'Dr.Summers.Could you please inform me what the patent number is or was it approved ? Then at another time you claim to have a 'substantial' holding of Endovasc shares through an unidentified source. Was this as a 'consultant'or what,I really don't understand. You see the only reason I 'invested' in 2001 was because of the Stanford nicotine patent for angiogenesis. Now if you left another as you claim in exchange for shares I would like to know about it.
Finally, as an off topic from my Endovasc losses due to a fraudulent pump dump, I would like to ask if you still think Bill Clinton murdered your former employee, CIA Chief Willam Colby ? Try as I might I cannot find any statement from Mr.Colby re the death of Vince Foster nor any reason to believe he agreed with you that Bill Clinton killed his own friend. Sincerely, Tony Ryals

My Ryals,
You don't identify yourself. Really, that is rather uncivil, though hardly more uncivil than your initial missive which accuses me of a number of felonies of which I know I am innocent. Under the circumstances, I have no interest in keeping up an extended correspondence with you, given that you have made it quite clear that you are prejudiced against me and prepared to leap to conclusions which are remote from the facts.
That said, I doubt that you have a claim against me over the patent I applied for in conjunction with Dr. Summers, as Endovasc signed a substantial contract with a major nutraceutical firm to market the product. This has all been announced. As to being proud of it, yes, I am. It was a valid insight that has been confirmed in human and animal testing.
Sincerely,
James Davidson

Dear Mr. James Dale Davidson, I appreciate your attempt at a reply but other than your name calling there was a total disregard for the questions I posed.Others, than you or I, who are both biased as to whether your 'Vantage Point' Endovasc articles are pump dumps, can deal with that.
I, as an 'investor' in Endovasc long before you appeared, would just like to focus on the nicotine patent you wrote with Dr.Summers.Remember that you proudy announced that you had co-patented it with Dr.Summers in 'Vantage Point' in 2002 when the stock was being featured in 'Vantage Point' ? Where can I find the number of this patent ? And just how many shares did it cost us, the humble naive investors who bought our shares the old fahioned way ,through those dirty naked shorting mms such as Charles Schwab ? You are more sophistiated re securities than I so you might help me locate this tranacton in SEC filings or fill me in as to why such minor details are not requred in SEC filings.
Your assistance in locating this patent that all EVSC INVESTORS ARE MOST PROUD OF IS MOST APPRECIATED.

Dear Mr. Ryals,
Needless to say, I regret that you lost money in Endovasc or, indeed, in any investment. That said, your fixation on exploring this issue with me is entirely misplaced. By your own admission, you did not invest in Endovasc on my say-so. In the somewhat patchy account of your complaint that emerges between the lines of your demanding and unpleasant communication, I find no logical nexus between your losses and any action of mine. In pure logic, I cannot see how applying for a patent could have destroyed your investment, or exposed it to any material harm whatever. In the absence of any disclosure on your part, I owe you none. And none you will get. If you think you have a claim against me, contact my lawyer, whose e-mail address is listed above.
Otherwise, I will treat your further communications as spam in the same category as a certificate for a $10 savings on any Teddy Bear purchased in April, notice of a free poetry contest, something about "Ronald Reagan's greatest laughs," and the inevitable promise to enlarge my penis by "up to five inches guaranteed." Att is sending through a lot of malarkey, including too much from you. You have not behaved as a gentleman in any respect in our correspondence. I won't miss hearing from you.
Sincerely,
James Davidson

Dear James Dale Davidson, Is this your way of saying no patent exists ? All I asked was for the patent number, or if it is still pending, the date it was applied for.I would presume this patent is part of the pink sheet 'evsc' branch as that is the entity I presume is related to the $1.5 million something or other.Sure I would like to know how many shares were given to you for the patent as well. Also I am glad for you that Stanford did not challenge it as it appears it may be covered in their own patents.Stanford angiogenesis patent by the way can be located on internet. As I lost 99% of my 'share value' due to supposed 'naked shorts'I would at least like to have full disclosure re this patent. You and the doctor must have a copy describing the patent. May I see it ?

Apropos cafe pruckl
Hello there. Glad to find another person who's interested in the Cafe Pruckl. Given that the Cafe Pruckl is listed under the general category of viennese coffeehouses, I hope to add data to this entry, that would help establish its distinctiveness, vis a vis all the other viennese coffeehouses. Please join me in the discussion page, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Caf%C3%A9_Pr%C3%BCckel , to help write a more specifically approporiate entry for the cafe pruckl. - I haven't been to the country in question, but I just felt that referring to the discussion page wasn't quite appropriate for an encyclopedia article—the content is mirrored on dozens of different sites, and the discussion page resides only here.–Mysid 10:50, 1 December 2005 (UTC)
SVG flags
Hi, I see you've been replacing a lot of JPEG or PNG flags with SVG ones, thanks, this is good work. I've recently added the {{badJPEG}} template with corresponding category Category:Images with inappropriate JPEG compression. If you are looking for more images to replace, please take a look there. Also, I'd like to invite you to replace the Flag of New Jersey PNG image: Image:New Jersey state flag.png. This might be difficult due to the amount of detail in the Seal of New Jersey, but all of us at WP:NJ would appreciate it. Thanks. --ChrisRuvolo (t) 14:01, 5 December 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks for giving it a try. I appreciate the effort, it is a complex seal. --ChrisRuvolo (t) 16:46, 5 December 2005 (UTC)
- Holy crap, it looks awesome! Thanks for your effort, I'm really impressed! I'm going to go replace all uses of the previous PNG with this one, thank you! --ChrisRuvolo (t) 13:18, 7 December 2005 (UTC)
- Saw your recent edits to the image. The aspect ratio looks better, thanks. However, I think the seal is not centered properly. The seal group looks automaticly centered by the bounding box of the group, but the cornucopia on the right side makes that side wider than the left side. I think the result is that the mid-line of the seal (running through the center of the crest and horses's head) is shifted to the left by a bit. What do you think? --ChrisRuvolo (t) 14:08, 7 December 2005 (UTC)
Mysid, I recently had a discussion on Talk:SVG about how to make the uploaded SVGs properly resizable. It seems that the use of the width
and height
tags in the top-level <svg>
is what limits the size. Removing these tags will make the SVG scale-to-fit by the client. I just tried this on the NJ flag, and it works well. Also, I was thinking that these SVGs would be usable on other (non-English) wikipedias. Have you considered uploading them to Wikimedia Commons? Thanks. --ChrisRuvolo (t) 21:53, 9 December 2005 (UTC)
- Ah, crap, the Wikipedia SVG rendered doesn't do the right thing there. Nevermind. It resizes the image to 256x256 pixels only. --ChrisRuvolo (t) 21:58, 9 December 2005 (UTC)

Sao Jose panorama
Hello Mysid,
Panoramica of Sao Jose was obtained in the official site of the City Hall of Sao Jose dos Campos. It is considered to be free use under GFDL terms. There is not a specific classification or term for pictures that are free from the Brazilian Government or Brazilian Municiapalities. Even for commercial use, those pictures are released. cloretti. Anyway, i will change classification to PD (public domain).
Hello Mysid
I talked to the City Hall of Sao Jose dos Campos and they asked me to classify that as GFDL only for educational purposes. Thanks.
- I'm afraid that's not possible, as GFDL is not an educational only license. –Mysid 06:28, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
Image:ASI CSULB ASI--Program-Council-Logo.jpg
You recently tagged Image:ASI CSULB ASI--Program-Council-Logo.jpg with {{badJPEG}}. Since that image is a fair use logo, it should not be modified, even if the only thing that you do is convert it into a different file format. BlankVerse 21:48, 7 December 2005 (UTC)
- Why would this fall outside of fair use? --ChrisRuvolo (t) 22:29, 7 December 2005 (UTC)
- I suppose that using any image representing a copyrighted logo in the right context qualifies as fair use, no matter where the data came from. I've even drawn some logos myself and tagged them as fair use images. –Mysid 06:26, 8 December 2005 (UTC)
Image replaced and up for deletion
Hi, I've replaced two images uploaded by you with SVG versions, because SVG is a more suitable format for images with no photographic content:
- Image:Lebanese french flag.jpg ⇒ Image:Lebanese French flag.svg
- Image:Cedar flag.jpg ⇒ Image:Cedar flag.svg
The original images have been listed for deletion—hope this is OK. –Mysid 07:15, 9 December 2005 (UTC)
- No problem. CG 17:01, 9 December 2005 (UTC)
Hi, I have no problem. However, I think you should leave the copyright/source information of the original. I took it from a site that has specific conditions on when/how we can use their material. Asim Led 17:27, 9 December 2005 (UTC)
- You may be right, as the flag probably is, afterall, a derived work of the original. I've drawn all my flags on a vector layer with the original JPEG underneath it as a model, sometimes tracing exactly the original outlines. That, of course, excludes cases where the flag consists merely of simple geometric patterns that I can reproduce with more accuracy than in the original, like the flag you were referring to. (That said, I don't exactly know what counts as a derived work and what doesn't.) –Mysid 11:43, 10 December 2005 (UTC)
- FYI, that only applies if her SVG work is a derived work of the JPEG. (for example, by tracing the outline of the shape in the JPEG) --ChrisRuvolo (t) 18:23, 9 December 2005 (UTC)
Thanks for your images
I've been very impressed with the images you've drawn to replace images with inappropriate JPEG compression. Thank you for all your work. —Bkell 06:45, 11 December 2005 (UTC)

Maps
Sure, of course. You might also want to reconsider creating a new .png map instead of converting the .jpeg ones. As far as I remember, Emax simply didn't know how to use .png format and that's why he saved all his maps based on my commons:User:Halibutt/administrative in such a bizarre way. The original .png's have the palette already reduced to three colours, so you'd just have to place a dot and - done.
As to tagging - I'm really lost here. If you converted Emax' conversions of my maps, you'd most probably have to retain the original tag as per GFDL. If you prepared a new .png from the scratch, you'd only have to mention my name and a link to commons:User:Halibutt/administrative. Whichever way you go - I'm happy someone uses my work.
BTW, take note that many of the maps created by Emax are based on an earlier version of my contour map, the one that still needed lots of fixes. Later I fixed the original - just compare Image:Suwalki map.png with Image:Polska kontur bialy.png. Halibutt 11:20, 13 December 2005 (UTC)

Republic of the Rio Grande
Mysid: Thank you for the help with the Republic of the Rio Grande flag. It is much appreciated. I don't have Corel or any other drawing software available beyond Paint.
It is my intention to comply with the law. The web site from which I took the original RRG flag image stated that all images are copyrighted, but that an image could be used as long as:
- I don't use more than 5% of their images, and that
- I reference their web site.
But you drawing a new image completely takes care of that. It's a higher quality image. You did an excellent job. Thank you for your time and help.

Redundant images
I really appreciate the work you're doing improving bad JPEGs. I've noticed that you are using the {{redundant}} tag to mark the old JPEG versions of images you've fixed. If you have changed the articles to use the new PNG or SVG versions, so that there are no more articles that use the old JPEG image, then consider using the {{db-i1}} tag instead to nominate the JPEG for speedy deletion. —Bkell 20:42, 30 December 2005 (UTC)
