I reverted a recent edit of yours on the Behavioral Medicine article (seen here). I am fairly sure that it should be singular, since all uses of the term in the book need not be referenced. Only the first use of the term 'Behavioral medicine'. But I am open to critique. --Dkriegls (talk to me!) 02:09, 4 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

My reasoning was that the term was introduced independently and more or less simultaneously in a book title and two academic clinical programs. I originally used the singular but then decided the plural more accurately stated the case. I think it could be argued both ways but will leave the passage as you have revised it. Moonandback (talk) 07:15, 5 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm. Well that makes sense. Is there no way of determining which was published first? Why give credit to both the book and the papers? If not, I agree that it should be plural. Dkriegls (talk to me!) 08:20, 6 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I doubt that it would be possible to determine the exact historical priority. Even if it were, doing full justice to the issue would also require an investigation of the extent to which early uses of the term was consistent with the way the field evolved, which strikes me as beyond the scope of this article. The point I was trying to make is that these independent early uses suggest that the term captured ideas that were in the air at the time, foreshadowing a more extensive development the concept in the later 1970s. I have recast the passage in a way that I hope makes this clearer. Moonandback (talk) 19:15, 6 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Moonandback! Thanks for writing. When you modified the article, you took out the Articles for Creation template, so you're right, the "Resubmit" button disappeared. I've added it back. Don't worry, when the article is approved, that template is automatically removed, so you don't have to do it yourself.
