{{helpme}}I found a link on the page Diving at the 1963 Pan American Games called Linda Cooper that directs to the wrong "Linda Cooper." I wasn't sure if I should create a new page for the correct Linda Cooper, who happens to be my mother, and add a disambiguation link to the other Linda Cooper's page, or if I should just mark the other Linda Cooper's page for deletion since it doesn't seem to be "notable." Marking her page for deletion seems appropriate based on what I've been reading in the wikipedia tutorials, however, this seems a little mean to the other Linda Cooper. I also thought of adding a pipe to the Linda Cooper link on the Diving at the 1963 Pan American Games page, but am not sure I should create a page for my own mother. What do you suggest? Thank you.
- Making a page about your mom is a conflict of interest, but that doesn't mean you can't do it; it just means that you need to be especially careful to use only information that's available in reliable sources and to keep the language as neutral as possible- avoid sentences like "Linda Cooper was the best diver in the world, and the mother of a startlingly handsome and intelligent son." :) If you want to nominate Linda Cooper for deletion, I'd choose the AfD process, but might still be happier creating a new article with a title like Linda Cooper (diver), since the name is common enough that it's worth a little pre-emptive disambiguation. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 00:13, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
