Dear Mikeblas,

Thank you for your notification of the addition of references to Bruce Carty's book. As you can see, I find Bruce's book a good source of historical material.

Have you also contacted Bruce? I do know him and, frankly, he is not a big user of Wikipedia or of Google research in general. Nevertheless, I do not think that he'd mind me passing on his email address, because he lists it in his book - [redacted]. Nevertheless, if you haven't already been in touch, you may like to mention that I gave you his address.

According to my 2013 edition of On the Air, the page numbers you require are:

  • First direct communication Australia-UK p.25
  • First broadcast of music p.25
  • 2SB p.27
  • 2BL p.27 (separate entry)
  • 2FC p.27
  • 3AR p.47
  • 6WF p.74
  • 3LO p.47

I hope this helps, Regards,Albert Isaacs (talk) 23:21, 9 December 2018 (UTC)

Hi, Albert. First, I want to explain that I've removed the email address you posted. I don't think it's appropriate to share an email address of someone else, particularly without their permission, in a public place.
Thanks for looking up the page numbers. You should edit them in to the {{cite book}} tags in the article. Once you do, you can remove the {{pn}} tags. -- Mikeblas (talk) 15:00, 10 December 2018 (UTC)

Dear Mike,

Firstly, Bruce Carty tells me that he is more than comfortable with my sharing his email address in the way that I did.

Candidly, I must admit that in the past I've had trouble including page numbers on Wikipedia. Therefore, I'd be delighted if you can add them for me.

You may be interested in learning that Bruce had some further information re 2EU/2UE. I don't know whether you're interested in this but I have just modified the Wikipedia entry - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Macquarie_Sports_Radio_954#1920s. I am now about to modify the 2EU entry on List of oldest radio stations.

Please send a copy of your reply to this to my user page, below. Thanks.

Regards,

Albert Isaacs (talk) 05:24, 12 December 2018 (UTC)

Hi again, Albert. Since I'm not able to verify the referencing information I'd be adding to the article, I'm not comfortable adding it myself. You can find lots of help for editing Wikipedia articles. Adding page numbers to existing citations isn't too hard. -- Mikeblas (talk) 14:44, 12 December 2018 (UTC)

Hallo Mike, I noticed that you removed a link which I posted yesterday since it was blacklisted. May I ask you what is the problem with this link? And where is the black list? I hope I didn't get a virus...Thanks a lot, Alex2006 (talk) 18:04, 21 December 2018 (UTC)

Hi! the blacklist is here, and it's described at the Wikipedia:Spam blacklist topic. I don't know much about this particular process. It seems like thepointsguy was added earlier in December. There wasn't much of a conversation [1], but I guess the concern was that the site is a "sponsored" advice blogs and isn't an acceptable source. -- Mikeblas (talk) 01:03, 22 December 2018 (UTC)

Alex2006 WP doesn't seem to like shortened links. If you use the full link, that may solve the problem.--ReveurGAM (talk) 02:36, 22 December 2018 (UTC)

So it was only a technical problem...Thanks! Alex2006 (talk) 08:08, 22 December 2018 (UTC)

@ReveurGAM:, I don't think the link was shortened. Here's the diff of my correction. I think the link is spelled-out, and it matches the blacklist regex I linked above. Am I lookin' at the wrong strings? -- Mikeblas (talk) 18:02, 22 December 2018 (UTC)

Derren Brown edit

Thanks for correcting the refs - I wasn't sure how to put them in correctly!--ReveurGAM (talk) 02:34, 22 December 2018 (UTC)

Happy to help. LMK if you have questions about something. Referencing in Wikipedia is byzantine. -- Mikeblas (talk) 18:03, 22 December 2018 (UTC)
