Outdated
This was already explained to you. If you think that something is outdated, that is not reason to delete it, or tag it. Those are parallel districts, and officially, those are NOT HISTORICAL. This was explained to you multiple times already! --WhiteWriter speaks 13:06, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
- The districts of Kosovo are for sure outdated, they are replaced by the municipalities. the districts of serbia, kosovo are written partially in a past tense, and the data is outdated, they should be written totally as historical entities, because they are no longer used. Or are these structures in usage in any way, and if so, please document that. thanks, mike James Michael DuPont (talk) 15:16, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
- Well, as you are the one who edit it, i need references from you, not the other way around. If you don't give us some reliable references about that, we do not know are your edits ok or not. First find references, and post it here, and then we will talk about it. --WhiteWriter speaks 18:43, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
- Ok. we can do that. Basically, I will have to find Refrences that show you that Kosovo is a functioning government and that the parallel governments are no longer functioning. Look, you will have to admit one thing, these old districts are just that, old. No one uses them any more. They are not current and people might get confused if they read up on Kosovo and find these. I think they are misleading because they don't represent the facts on the ground, I am looking into the current elections and they are not based on districts of Serbia, but on municipalities. Lets get real here my friend. James Michael DuPont (talk) 18:47, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
- You are right, but now we should think of some way to :
- Make then official, as the officially still exist.
- Find source that they are not used anyway "de facto"
- Find source what is used now "de facto"
- As guided by NPOV, point all of this.
- First, i propose you to find those sources and point them here. Then we will do next. Ok? :) --WhiteWriter speaks 11:40, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
- OK, I am starting an article on this User:Mdupont/Parallel_structures_of_Kosovo basically, just read about EULEX, that is what it is all about. James Michael DuPont (talk) 08:13, 2 December 2010 (UTC)

POV:KS
Do we really need a separate template for this? Rich Farmbrough, 17:26, 30 November 2010 (UTC).
- That is why I made it, I think we do. There are vey many cases of onesided articles that show only the serbian pov in wikipedia. It is a big job to clean this up, and the template is easier to manage. Have you reviewed the issues on this topic? thanks James Michael DuPont (talk) 17:36, 30 November 2010 (UTC)

"Good" source
So according to the disputed source in question, this Dr Elise is one of the "best scholars" on Albania? And this makes him a reputable neutral source how?
I will not repeat this again, sources from albanianhistory.net or kosova.com, do not represent neutral points of veiw in regards to conflict. Should I now start adding various Serbian sources from Serbian experts and historians to refute these claims? No, because that wouldn't makes much sense on a website that stresses the principle of a Neutral Point of Veiw. Buttons (talk) 21:43, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
- Elise is neutral, he is a scholar. James Michael DuPont (talk) 22:52, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
- OK, I don't find that we have talked about this enough. I am going to ask for a second opinion. James Michael DuPont (talk) 07:07, 7 December 2010 (UTC)

WP Albania
Hello!
We are a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of Albania and Albanians related topics and are organized within WikiProject Albania. Thank you and, again, welcome among us! |

- Only after the rest of users agree to that. Also, most of them dont. --WhiteWriter speaks 20:40, 6 December 2010 (UTC)
- Hi there, I am working on content, not titles. There are enough people who spend all day fighting over names, my point is to add in new information, facts into the wikipedia and also make sure that at least the albanian names are listed. I dont care if the article is named one way or the other. One day I will make a firefox hack that renamed all the serbian words automatically for the user when they look at the page. :D . Kosovo
If you want to change Kosovo placenames then you should start a broad and centralized discussion on WP:CCN and later on Wikipedia:Mediation Committee, in which not only users with a conflict of interest will participate. --— ZjarriRrethues — talk 12:15, 7 December 2010 (UTC)
- I don't want to change the names, I want to add information. Only when we have enough people behind this can we even consider the changing of names. there is so much work to do anyway. I would like help with making the articles more factual, most of them are useless because of POV editing on the serb sides removes important and useful information. for me the articles must be useful, not political. they need to contain the albanian names because I need to find them based on the albanian names. They need to contain the fact that they are in kosovo because that is not clear. the serbian wikiproject is just FULL of articles about things in kosovo that do not even mention kosovo, this has to change. I don't need a committee for this, just people to help do the work, there is no dispute about this, we need people who have the time to review and watch hundreds of biased serbian articles. Wikipedia needs to become useful and not a political platform. mike James Michael DuPont (talk) 14:49, 7 December 2010 (UTC)

- Good point! I used google translated to write to him in albanian, now i translated it back to english. I see this behaviour like from this guy often, and I wrote about it before on my notes on albanian names. I see alot of people from Kosovo who go in an just rename everything, it is a common problem. We need to explain to them how to constructively work under the serbian naming regime that is in place. I am also not happy with it, but there is little we can do at this point. If these people want to help we need to give them direction, there is so much to do on the kosovo articles. they are in a general poor state and we waste time on this naming issue. thanks for your advice. mike James Michael DuPont (talk) 12:19, 13 December 2010 (UTC)
redirects
We don't create new articles on Wikipedia just to say that "Thing X is an incorrect name for Thing Y". We use redirects, and only redirects — even for misspellings, if they're common enough that somebody might actually search for them. Bearcat (talk) 11:04, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
- Ok, cause the german wikipedia does it different. see the de:Ðakovica. otherwise fine with me.
thanks for the infos. James Michael DuPont (talk) 11:08, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
Again
I will tell you just this final time.
- You should not use underscore [ _ ] in article space!! That is ugly and in contrary to wikipedia rules.
- You should use Kosovo note in ALL new created Kosovo related or located articles.
Thanks, final time. --WhiteWriter speaks 13:27, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for your information. You should also add the kosovo note to all the Serbian articles that contain kosovo as well. Why dont you clean up the Serbian articles first instead of yelling at me. Underscore? where am I using that?
- James Michael DuPont (talk)
- Here and most time, everywhere. Main idea of Kosovo note is that we should not add Kosovo/Serbia, disputed province of Kosovo, Serbia, (Kosovo)...., and instead all of that we use kosovo note. I am fixing all articles that need to be fixed, and wikipedia dont need now mess regarding this subject. And i am not yelling, i am just pointing to you very clearly, as it seams that you didn't understand us numerous times before, when all of us explained this to you clearly. --WhiteWriter speaks 15:02, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
- OK, The underscore is just in the link, it is from copying the url. I will look for some script to fix that, should be easy. about the kosovo note, you should add it into all the articles about serbia that also lists places in kosovo. there are so many cases of that lacking the kosovo note. thanks James Michael DuPont (talk) 16:22, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
- It was mistake. Dont be over emotional. There are tons of Lipovac vilages, i made a mistake. And if you stop WP:FIGHTing with me, you could read the wikipedia guidelines, and follow then, and not just blindly push your own POV. And i don't really plan to explain you over again why kosovo note was created, read it your self, as you didn't apparently. It was not created for POV pushing, it was much better encyclopedic use then that. Also, reread WP:SOURCES, so you will see what source should be. All best, James! --WhiteWriter speaks 19:13, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
- Ok mr white. I will go with you on this, assume good faith. you forgot that peja was in kosovo. it can happen to anyone. And there are very many lipovac and lipovic and all that. I counted very many of them. So, but one thing we have not cleared up, the usage of this this kosovo note on the serbian articles that contain things in kovoso, and if not that note, then some other note. I created my template NPOVKS, but you keep on removing it without resolving the basic problems. it is not about POV, for me, I am just trying to improve the quality here. I want to use WP as a source of knowledge, and that should clearly demark what is where. even if you take the POV that KS is RS, then you still should mark the parts of RS that are in KS clearly because they are defacto out of control. If I were a businessman and wanted to invest in RS, I would like to see what parts of RS are under control. If you list all parts of KS as RS, then you would be misleading a neutral person. don you think? my frustration is that when I look up some geographic thing, I then never know if it is in kosovo or serbia proper because I cannot trust the wikipedia to report the facts, this has to be fixed. Let me know on how you think we can resolve this and what we can do together to make the WP a good source of facts on the area. thanks, James Michael DuPont (talk) 20:23, 14 December 2010 (UTC)

First Organ Transplant in Albania
I've noticed your contributions at the latest "scoop" with allegations of organ thefts. I would like to let you know that the first organ transplant in Albania happened in March 28, 2010, in Mother Teresa Hospital, with the assistance of some Italian doctors link. This because none of Albanian doctors had the capacity and even the conditions to do it before even in the main hospital (Mother Theresa Hosital) of Albania were prohibitory. It took them some months of training and an upgrade of hospital infrastructure, to make that happen.
I suppose you know some Albanian so you can understand what the text says. Regards Aigest (talk) 09:55, 18 December 2010 (UTC)
- yes, they say the albanians have completed the first successful kidney transplant from a father to a daughter to save her live. Good for them. James Michael DuPont (talk) 10:03, 18 December 2010 (UTC)
- Yes and no private clinic is able to do that, even nowadays in Albania. Aigest (talk) 10:21, 18 December 2010 (UTC)

Kosovan elections
I assume you are referring to the article Kosovan local elections, 2008? For some reason, even though the page included the template, it was not actually one of the links on the template itself, hence me missing it when updating the links prior to deleting the template. It was merged into {{Kosovan elections}}, which does include local elections - I have now added the 2008 elections to it. Number 57 11:57, 18 December 2010 (UTC)

2010 election
Sorry ig ot to the pag elate. I left a few notes to your comments on the talk page to get to it whenver, no rush to add it back until we agree to do so ;)(Lihaas (talk) 17:06, 21 December 2010 (UTC)).
- HI, I have a new scheme, for politicans, instead of using the wrong names, please look here List_of_politicians_in_Kosovo#Mimoza Kusari-lila and make a redirect to the list of politicians. I am collecting them all there. Same with parties. We should have links for all of them, just add them to the list. for example New_Kosovo_Coalition even if it is an empty section, at least we have the full list. I have been working hard on collecting sources, also on wikisource. If you know of any new parties or politicians, pleas add them to the list. thanks James Michael DuPont (talk) 18:02, 21 December 2010 (UTC)
Parallel Structure??
Sorry, what is that? Towns, bridges, people, complete chaos! And you created parallel structures, to what? Then you should point also Republic of Kosovo structures, as those are also parallel. I did that, and removed pointlessly added entries. --WhiteWriter speaks 23:09, 18 December 2010 (UTC)
- Ok,it was a bit simple. what do you say about "North Kosovo" for these geographic things. Basically my conclusion is that the old districts no not count anymore, as I have maintained, there are only municipalities that get smaller and smaller to contain the different ethinic groups and north kosovo which is controlled by serbia. therefore we should outdate the districts, they are no longer valid. what do you think? James Michael DuPont (talk) 06:45, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
- They are still valid, regarding Serbia's attitude toward Kosovo. Get over it! We already explained you that, and you are welcome to propose something on talk pages, but that is all you should do now, regarding this subject. --WhiteWriter speaks 10:32, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Lëvizja Vetëvendosje!
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Lëvizja Vetëvendosje! requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Cind.amuse 07:42, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

This edit is completely unacceptable. You cannot create article space redirect to wikipedia name-space! Do you even read what am i writing to you? And all other users? I will really report you if you don't start taking care about other people's posts in wikipedia. Dont use underscore. Dont create pov redirects. Follow WP:LAY! Add kosovo note wherever needed! En:wiki is not your personal Albanian playground, where you can do whatever you want. For that, create your own wikipedia. --WhiteWriter speaks 15:30, 20 December 2010 (UTC)
- Hello Mr White. I thought that the redirect would at least create more value than what we currently have. We can move that page into article space and call it list of places in the dragash and gora. I do read what you write. underscores dont seem to be a deadly problem. pov redirects, i dont do, what do you mean. Kosovo note, as I said, first we will add it to the serbian articles, there are so many lists of things in serbia that dont clearly denote kosovo. I am not albanian and this is not any playground, I am doing my best to help out here. take a deep breath there are no unresolvable conflicts, lets work on this. thanks, James Michael DuPont (talk) 16:52, 20 December 2010 (UTC)
- Well, first, if article name is Dragaš, or Đakovica, you cannot create other article with Dragash, or use Dragaš og Gjakova in article scape, as that is violation of NPOV, and you may be blocked for that. That is regarding all other naming issues. Other, underscore IS a problem, and shouldn't be used, and you must stop with that. Also, Kosovo not should ne used in Kosovo articles first, and note name simply shows. And you are not here to impose some rules about addition of Kosovo note, you as editor must follow wikipedia guidelines. If you dont do that, you are not welcome to edit wikipedia. It is simple as that. --WhiteWriter speaks 11:33, 21 December 2010 (UTC)
- another article with dragash? you are talking about the list of villages? that is not a POV issue, just a technical list article. I am working on the underscore and have tried hard to avoid it. I will make some scripts to check the articles for unneeded underscores. and the kosovo note, I am not against having it, and I said, there are a number of articles that needed it added. you seem to have a double standard here. I will look into some of these cleanups when I have time. please stop doing speedy deletes on my work. thanks, James Michael DuPont (talk) 11:44, 21 December 2010 (UTC)
- Mdupont, you do not need scripts to check underscore, that will be fixed, just dont do that in the future. And you are welcome to introduce Kosovo note wherever you find it needed! It is not technical list! If it is in the article space, you cannot have technical articles! Each and every one must be good, any by wikipedia rules! If you want to experiment, use your own pages. There can be mess, and there you even can use underscore. But nothing of that cannot be used in article space. There you must follow NPOV, LAY, and other important wiki rules. --WhiteWriter speaks 11:54, 21 December 2010 (UTC)
- I am doing my best to make positive contributions and to follow the agreeed rules. See the talk page about my reasons for the list of populated places in dragash. It is a list article. If you dont like the formatting, i will improve it, that is not a problem. James Michael DuPont (talk) 12:04, 21 December 2010 (UTC)
- Please improve it as much as you can. And use agreed article names, so Dragaš, not Dragash... -WhiteWriter speaks 12:07, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

Monuments
Ok, i am urging from you not to create lists of Serbian cultural monuments. Your knowledge of WP:LAY and few other wiki guidelines are still not satisfactory, and your template that was deleted already exist, like this {{CHS-SANU}}. DONT create redirects, as those article will be created, and you will only create mess, and chaos with that. You are welcome to edit politicians, mountains, and other similar things, but, do not edit subject that is not familiar with you, as most of those lists ALREADY EXIST, and i don't want to run after you to fix everything. --WhiteWriter speaks 11:50, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
- I agree not to make the list of Serbian monuments, I am working on Prizren. not monuments of serbia, but lists of things for the prizren article. Most of them dont need to be put on new pages, but can be just hosted on the prizren page. Right now we cannot find them. - I agree not to make the list of Serbian monuments, I am working on Prizren. not monuments of serbia, but lists of things for the prizren article. Most of them dont need to be put on new pages, but can be just hosted on the prizren page. Right now we cannot find them. - I think that if anything you might make a list article, lists of deaths in Greek Albanian relations or something so that you can list them all and clarify things. I dont think every person needs an article.

Speedy deletion nomination of Ahmed Hamdi Pasha
A tag has been placed on Ahmed Hamdi Pasha, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing no content to the reader. Please note that external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article don't count as content. Moreover, please add more verifiable sources, not only 3rd party sources. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}}
to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Beenkeep Rold (talk) 13:01, 2 January 2011 (UTC)

We should also work on the http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/BestPictureOfKosovoForWikipediaContest for albania, and also the http://sq.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Fotografi_perfekte is not a contest yet, there is no competition. Also we need to form a wikimedia albania, for that purpose we started on http://flossal.org/ the albanian association for free and open software and open knowledge. we need to get that started. what do you think? mike James Michael DuPont (talk) 18:31, 4 January 2011 (UTC)

- I've restored the history of the article to your userspace draft. I'm going to edit it to try to sort out the format, which is a mess. Names in lists shouldn't be headings! Fences&Windows 19:23, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
- I see from the deleted talk what your rationale was - well, please see the WP:MOSLIST, creating idiosyncratic formatting for individual lists isn't very user friendly. You can create the same effect using {{anchor}}. Fences&Windows 19:30, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks, Well I have experimented with anchors already with the Prizren article, it worked ok. I would put the work in, but the article was deleted and that demotivated me. I can write a program to reformat the list, but you think there is a point to it? James Michael DuPont (talk) 05:23, 22 February 2011 (UTC)
- OK, well thank, I have continued your formatting, looks ok. thanks . Also about the single mindedness, I would like to point out that I have a broad range of interests and have edited on many articles. Not just that, I am working on openstreetmap, commons etc. There is no single mindedness, I am just trying to make wikipedia useful. IN prizren there are three official languages, Serbian, Albanian and Turkish, and there is also a large Bosnian and Gorani Population, That is why there are so many names and so many different ones. The city goes back to the romans and there is a lot of names and a lot of events missing from it. James Michael DuPont (talk)

Names
You dont need sources for some regular names, but we DO NOT NEED 10000000000 names about one building in the article what is NOT ABOUT THAT BUILDING. That is called "Spamming" and it is ugly and in contrary to wiki rules. If you want to use those names, create an articles about those mosques and buildings. Also, Sanxhakbe is non English word that therefor cannot be in the article, and it is also unreferenced, so it was removed. Dont add it back until we agree on talk page about it. --WhiteWriter speaks 13:26, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
- There are many cases of Serbian words being used as articles. Here is a reference for Sanxhakbe, http://www.visitkosova.org/?page=2,64. More to come. If you are interested in this mosque, you need to know what names are used for it, maybe we can find a better way to list them. But I spend a long time even finding these names, and each language name and alternative name helps you find more resources. I am interested in the history and you need these names to find documents and references. I dont plan on giving up,but we will have to work on this some more to reach a nice clean page. James Michael DuPont (talk) 06:09, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
- Sanjak Bey in albanian is Sanxhakbe James Michael DuPont (talk) 21:21, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
- Also theye are not spam, they are the names used by people living there, the official languages of the city and the region. James Michael DuPont (talk) 21:39, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
- No, they are not. We do not need 10000 similar names in albanian just to push your pov, and list of Sanjak-beya is completely irrelevant in this article. Also Sanxhakbe is Sanjak-bey, and not Sanjak. If you dont know albanian well, dont use it, and create wrong redirects. Also, we do not need that in the article ABOUT PRiZREN! If you worked on it, you keep it for new articles that will create. Use some of your 10000000000 user pages. www.visitkosova.org is political non neutral pro-RoK site that describes Gračanica monastery as Ilirian monument!! It is also highly unreliable source. You MUST use talk page, for any new edits regarding that page. As my patience is at all time low, i really dont want to start explaining all, all over again... For more info, read WP:LAY, WP:NPOV, WP:RS/N, and after all, WP:ARBMAC... For more, write on Prizren talk page. --WhiteWriter speaks 23:08, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
- I don't understand your insistence on including multiple non-English names for things in the English Wikipedia. Some particularly relevant names are fine, but this seems to be becoming a bit of a single-minded obsession which is not of much use to English language speakers. Perhaps your efforts would be better spent elsewhere? Fences&Windows 19:26, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
- If you take an hour to try and find information on some subject and realize it is listed under a different name, then you want to save others that work. My point is to compile relevant information about the subject, and that includes the names used in the references. James Michael DuPont (talk) 05:20, 22 February 2011 (UTC)

- All the conferences featured speakers from wikipedia. We had a speaker on wikipedia topics at the conferences. Our team is working on making a kosovo chapter. We are working on the creative commons porting. If you look just a little bit deeper, you will see it has alot to do with wikipedia and commons. the open letter should have mentioned the wikipedia, must have been an ommission on my part. In any case we have been working on recruiting contributor for wikipedia and commons. As to my copyright, I am the copyright holder of my text and it is licensed under the cc, but I should make that clearer. So I hope that clears up your questions. Green Background
I have removed your following comment from Talk:Barack Obama citizenship conspiracy theories because Wikipedia (and particularly that page) is not a place to discuss issues about the topic.
- if you look at the talk history http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Barack_Obama_citizenship_conspiracy_theories&oldid=427469576, my uploaded svg file was deleted from the talk, because it was "original research". I can understand that in one way that it might be original, but all I did was convert it to svg and broke up the layers. The rendering artifacts are wikipedia, the original svg lines up perfectly. Well I was just following up on what was going around on the internet. It should be part of this discussion. Also, I am just presenting the facts here so that we can have an informed discussion.
- The points about the PDF file containing multiple layers can be explained by the ocr and the compression algorithms, see also this page : http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/04/29/expert-says-obamas-birth-certificate-legit/.
- But I have a question about the green background, How did the green background get there. There are a couple parts to this picture, on the left hand side you will see a page bend, and the green is inside and outside the page and it is lined up. My explanation would be a green background that was placed over the original bent book and lined up perfectly. But it does not make exact sense. anyone can explain?
- I dont want to be seen as crazy or doing any original research, I just systematically tried to reproduce the experiment and documented here, I would like to present the facts and get any questions resolved. Maybe asking questions is original?
It is not appropriate for an editor to perform an analysis of an image and start a discussion about that analysis in Wikipedia (see WP:NOTFORUM and WP:TPG). If a reliable source were to perform such an analysis, we may well choose to discuss it, and consider if it were suitable for use in an article. I understand that your work is genuine and is not any attempt to introduce inappropriate material into an article, but particularly with an article about a conspiracy theory, there should be no relaxation with regard to the guidelines (WP:TPG) that clearly specify the purpose of article talk pages. You might not have noticed the "This article has been placed on article probation" box at the top of the crowded talk page. I am not suggesting that you are in any way contravening that probation, but I am pointing it out to indicate that the page has had a lot of trouble from people trying to promote various points of view, and the only proper procedure is to insist that all discussions be focused on how to improve the article based on reliable sources (preferably reliable secondary sources). The only place where general discussions of the above nature may be appropriate on Wikipedia is at one of the WP:Reference desks. Johnuniq (talk) 04:43, 5 May 2011 (UTC)

- The Dept of Health has a stack of blank paper except it's not white, it has the green pattern right in the paper. Both birth certificates appear to have been printed on this paper. JethroElfman (talk) 23:30, 5 May 2011 (UTC) He put the green watermarked paper in the printer, brought up the image of the birth certificate on the computer screen, and printed it, but it only takes up the square window in the middle of the page. Then he hand-stamped the date and certification notice. Signs it with a pen. Presumably punches it with their embossment punch, although I don't see an embossment on this one. It can be seen on the older certificate. JethroElfman (talk) 23:35, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
- Sounds great, thank you so much. So the white pagefolding was printed on the green background overwriting it?
mike James Michael DuPont (talk) 08:11, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
- Well, the pagefold happened when they pressed the original up against the glass of the scanner or photocopier. I assume the birth certificate is already scanned, and they printed it directly from a computer. That could be wrong, and maybe last month they got out the book holding a set of 1961 hardcopy records, and photocopied it onto the green paper. This is why they don't want us speculating in the article about how it was created. You can just as easily put green paper into a photocopier as a printer. Book pages
Hello, the book pages you are uploading need proper source and copyright descriptions. Please don't continue this mass upload before fixing the descriptions.
Also, since I can't imagine this many book pages to be ever actually displayed in an article, you should consider uploading them on Commons instead. You risk getting them nominated for deletion here on en-wiki. Fut.Perf. ☼ 08:07, 29 May 2011 (UTC)
- Hi, I am only uploading selected pages, will move them to commons, ideally part of wikisource. The copyrights are all publicdomain old google books, adding them in. James Michael DuPont (talk) 08:09, 29 May 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Spezial:Buch
A tag has been placed on Spezial:Buch, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect to an article talk page, file description page, file talk page, MediaWiki page, MediaWiki talk page, category talk page, portal talk page, template talk page, help talk, user page, user talk or special page from the main/article space.
If you can fix the redirect to point to a mainspace page, please do so and remove the speedy deletion tag. However, please do not remove the speedy deletion tag unless you are fixing the redirect. If you think the redirect should be retained as is for some reason, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}
) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the article's talk page directly to give your reasons. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. DASHBot (talk) 23:00, 23 August 2011 (UTC)
Please add more content
When you create articles like Zdzisław Wysocki, please consider adding at least a little more content, to move the articles from the sub-stub to at least a stub. Currently this article makes no claim of notability, for example. If it had no references, it would be quickly prodded and deleted. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk to me 20:35, 13 September 2011 (UTC)

- Ah, thanks for clarifying that. I am sure it is a useful and reliable reference work; my comment was not meant to criticize it - most reference works (like my own favorite, the Polish Biographical Dictionary) are not known to the general public. Also, Wikipedia articles should state why people are notable (and reference those claims to the reliable works like the one you mention); just saying that somebody is mentioned in a reliable reference work is not helpful (neither to our reader, nor to the subject of the article). --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk to me 21:12, 14 September 2011 (UTC)

- As reviewing administrator, I did not delete the article. But I really must ask that you not make things person. I see you have been in a number of conflicts with this editor, and there is one thing I know will help: which is never using his name, either in a comment addressed to him or about him.-- just discuss the article. This is heading for an interaction ban, and that would be a shame considering you are working in the same topic area ,; the encyclopedia will best be served by cooperation.
- I left some comments on the article talk p about further progress. One thing you could certainly do that would greatly help, both for this and other articles, is be much more careful about our rules for formatting articles. Being scruplous aboutthis will minimize the occasions for confrontations. Additionally, being very careful about copyright for images would also help--you really must accustom yourself to accepting our rules, in all their detail. DGG ( talk ) 23:07, 18 April 2012 (UTC)

Regarding this, I don't know the background but I think what you're doing is excellent and obviously the right thing to do. Speedy backup - copyvios and attack pages?
I think you may be letting yourself in for big trouble with this. When people complain to Wikipedia about copyright violations, attack pages, inaccurate BLPs etc, we have the defence that we put a great deal of effort into New Page Patrol, administrators working the CSD lists, and special CSD categories for attacks and copyvios to ensure they are deleted quickly. But if I understand it right, you are planning to copy and preserve all these things. Even if you filter out G10 attack and G12 copyvio speedies, many copyvios and negative BLPs actually get deleted under other headings such as A7 or G3. Do you plan any sort of editorial filter? JohnCD (talk) 22:34, 9 July 2012 (UTC)
- We dont get G12 copyvio or things, and I am editing and checking. there are some in Category:Candidates for speedy deletion as copyright violations that got through, but they are blanked and they will be deleted. James Michael DuPont (talk) 07:44, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
- As long as the categories stay in place we can easily sort things out. James Michael DuPont (talk) 16:37, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
- Mdupont, it is of great concern that Speedy deletion wiki is hosting problematic pages that have been speedily removed from Wikipedia for copyvio or other issues. Perhaps you didn't realize, but it is against Wikipedia copyright policy to link to a website that does so. I think you should review our WP:Copyright Policy -- in particular WP:LINKVIO. I have commented about this at User:Mdupont/SpeedyDeletionWikia. I also request that you stop adding these notifications and links until this issue is completely resolved. Thanks. — CactusWriter (talk) 03:08, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
- I have addressed this, I am blanking those pages and replacing them with just the links. This is being done once a day. I hope that addresses your issue. On the other hand, linking to archive.org will also contain copyvio, is that against your policy? James Michael DuPont (talk) 05:21, 19 July 2012 (UTC)
- No, you have not addressed the copyvios on your personal website. I have just now rechecked and found the same articles that I spotted previously that were deleted for copyright violation from Wikipedia. They have not been removed from Speedy deletion wiki. It appears that either you are unable to determine copyright violations or you are ignoring the violations there. In either case, I do not trust your ability to address this important issue and believe that Wikipedia should have no association with the speedy deletion wiki. — CactusWriter (talk) 05:41, 21 July 2012 (UTC)

- I'm sorry, but I am not going to work with you on your personal project. I have no desire to play watchdog for your personal website. You are only creating unnecessary work for Wikipedia editors. There is far too much administrative work on Wikipedia -- especially in the area of copyright violation -- without having to repeat the exact same tasks on a redundant and duplicate website. I am doing my best to remove all copyvios. I have been contributing to wikipedia for years I would have to check who made an account first. The reason why I am working on this project is to help promote wikipedia, we are working on promoting wikipedia in kosovo and albania. Many authoers who i recruited from there got articles deleted. That is when it occured to me to work on saving them. Recently I had the time to work on the code. I personally feel that saving non notables, (not copyvios) will be a good way to take the pressure off of wikipedia in places like kosovo or india or even sports and music where there are large amounts of articles deleted. Thanks, mike James Michael DuPont (talk) 17:55, 21 July 2012 (UTC)
- You are incorrect. User:Sycam inc was not the tagging editor -- they were the creator of Mc edit, as well as the duplicate articles at Mc edit (minecraft world editor) and Mc edit world editor. Sycam inc was notified of their copyright violations here and again here. (Sycam inc was eventually indefinitely blocked for their disruptive editing.) It does not matter that patrolling editors placed other tags -- there are sometimes multiple issues -- and it is possible everyone of those criteria was correct. In fact, the duplicate articles were deleted for multiple reasons. However, copyright violations do require immediate removal. I am certain it was a copyvio because I'm the administrator who investigated the report and reviewed the outside source. Copyright violations are determined on Wikipedia not only through reports at speedy deletion, but also by administrators at Wikipedia:Copyright problems and Wikipedia:Contributor copyright investigations. It is tedious work that requires hundreds of patrolling editors and dozens of administrators. If you wish to lend a hand with removing copyvios -- than great! We can always use more editors there. But I suggest you first familiarize yourself with WP:Copyright policy and WP:Copyright violations as well as WP:CP and WP:CCI. — CactusWriter (talk) 00:51, 22 July 2012 (UTC)

On the other hand, linking to archive.org will also contain copyvio, is that against your policy? James Michael DuPont (talk) 05:21, 19 July 2012 (UTC)
- As long as the categories stay in place we can easily sort things out. James Michael DuPont (talk) 16:37, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
This article is an unambiguous copyright infringement unless you've obtained permission from the original copyright holders. If you had taken a look at that article, it should've been pretty obvious that it was an infringement. It is not the fault of the person who tagged the article for speedy deletion; they were tagging it for deletion and fixed the problem here on Wikipedia. (It's perfectly possible that the people who submitted the text to Wikipedia are associated with the IYC and had permission to do so... but it's also perfectly possible that they weren't. Wikipedia operates under the precautionary principle at least as far as copyright is concerned, so barring evidence of permission we treat obviously copied text as a copyright violation. Before you start promoting yourself on-wiki, you're going to need to come up with a way to ensure that articles that are getting deleted that you repost aren't copyright infringement. (You'll also have to come up with a strong argument as to why spamming an external link is a good idea, especially since any administrator will userfy articles for people.) - Hello, I am going to bring the issue of tagging articles properly at the right level with the wikipedia team, If you know an articles is copyvio, then tag it as such. That is really a big problem I agree, if you know that an article I am hosting is a copyvio but dont tell me, then we need to review the tagging of articles. This is a problem with the wikipedia process and not my project. James Michael DuPont (talk) 21:19, 21 July 2012 (UTC)
- What is the 'right level of the Wikipedia team'? Just curious. There are frequently half a dozen different speedy deletion tags that apply to an article, and most people just choose one or two of them instead of all of them, because they all do the job - getting the article deleted from Wikipedia. Frequently an article will look like it's probably a copyright infringement from somewhere, but someone could spend ten minutes tracking down the exact source so that they can use a G12 template, or they can tag it A7 and by the time they could've found what it was a copyright violation of it'll already be deleted. The fact that your project is hosting copyrighted material is a problem with your project, not our processes. Also: please blank or delete the article I linked. Kevin Gorman (talk) 21:28, 21 July 2012 (UTC)
- Well I will process the list of articles tomorrow, I am going to sleep. Thank you for your input. The right level, i mean whatever group that deals with these policies, like the idea of just getting things deleted. I dont understand where these policies come from but I see that they are wrong and will work on improving the process in the right way, even If i dont know what that process is at the moment. I also want to get rid of copyright violations, but I want to keep the non notables, if there was some way to separate them it would be great. It would also help the wikipedia in my opinion giving people who keep on recreating the articles and outlet and save lost work. Many of the bands, atheletes and doctors and schools from india are worth saving even if they dont have the references for wikipedia. James Michael DuPont (talk) 21:54, 21 July 2012 (UTC)

notifications
Please stop posting additional notifications (as you did here) while the RfC is running. You started an RfC about this and so far pretty much everyone disagrees with your viewpoint. It's inappropriate to continue making these notifications until/unless the RfC that you started reaches a consensus that it's okay to notify like this. Kevin Gorman (talk) 20:38, 21 July 2012 (UTC)
- Hello, The rfc is going way off topic. The people are not even addresssing the issue at hand, but just giving opinions in general.. But if you are going to push the issue, I really have not recourse then do I? So I guess I will have to stop, I hope that people will respond on time to my questions/comments and stay on topic.. James Michael DuPont (talk) 21:24, 21 July 2012 (UTC)
- I don't think the RfC has gone terribly off-topic: there seems to be a building consensus that it's inappropriate for you to link (or leave a template with the same intention) your website on the user talk pages of people whose articles have been tagged for deletion. It's normally considered inappropriate to get questioned on your behavior, start an RfC about it, and then continue the behavior the RfC is about - especially when the RfC isn't going in your favor. If you disagree with me, you can raise it at another community venue, but until you do so (and achieve consensus that your solicitations are okay) please don't continue to notify people.
