HBC AIV Helperbot 14 removing partially blocked users from AIV

[edit]

Please see [1] [2] [3] [4]. The bot was repeatedly removing users with a partial block who were vandalizing on pages outside of their partial block. I ended up reporting to WP:ANI instead. Beagall (talk) 18:47, 11 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hm, tricky one. I've deployed a change, will monitor and see what difference it makes. Unfortunately, partial blocks are presented to me as if they are full ones, and it's difficult to detect without going into detail on the logs. Mdann52 (talk) 20:14, 14 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Still happening [5]] The partial block is on the /30 range and prevents reports for the /64 range. Geraldo Perez (talk) 06:18, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Geraldo Perez: hopefully sorted. For info in the future, the bot will only remove items with the {{vandal}} template, so you can bypass the auto-clerking by using other templates and/or subst'ing if appropriate (but I don't know how messy that template is when you do that!) Looks like the problem is fixed. Thanks. Geraldo Perez (talk) 17:35, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

HBC AIV helperbot14 is down?

[edit]

There are a bunch of actioned reports at UAA and AIV that the bot hasn't cleared yet. It last edited 5 hours ago. – DreamRimmer (talk) 11:22, 2 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I checked the bot logs, and it seems the job was terminated because of a maxlag timeout. – DreamRimmer (talk) 11:42, 2 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@DreamRimmer restarted. Continuous flag set so this shouldn't happen again. interesting maxlag has only started peaking again in the last few days! Mdann52 (talk) 12:21, 2 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for restarting it. I was planning to use my bot as a backup until yours was back up. If you ever need a co-maintainer for it, I'd be happy to help out. – DreamRimmer (talk) 13:01, 2 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The bot appears to be down again as of 18:37, 27 October 2024 UTC. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 23:20, 27 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@K6ka heya - bot isn't down. Server lag is currently coming back as 39182s, so it's backing off every edit automatically as a result (see mw:Manual:Maxlag parameter. I'll bypass this check for now and make sure this is reported. Mdann52 (talk) 05:49, 28 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've poked the WMF Ops peeps, the errant replica has been killed, everything is back to working normally. Mdann52 (talk) 06:08, 28 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
