Responses to the COVID-19 pandemic
[edit]Hello MaxyPaxy2004, I noticed your interest to improve "Responses to the COVID-19 pandemic" articles. I have COI with a company that responded to the pandemic during the timeframes mentioned. Since I am familiar with the subject and have COI If I present content and verifiable secondary sources, would you be open to collaborating? The content belongs on the company's Wikipedia article, but I think some of the content could be helpful for your project. What are your thoughts on this?--Chefmikesf (talk) 17:16, 8 July 2020 (UTC)
- Hi User:Chefmikesf. I'm a relatively new editor here and thus haven't had any requests similar to this at all, although I'd be happy to help you as much as I can. If you could disclose to me the details and exactly where the content might be most appropriate, I would be open to collaborating with you. I know there's a few others that also do updates on those articles so you could also reach out to them if I get a bit overwhelmed! Best wishes, MaxyPaxy2004 (talk) 17:40, 8 July 2020 (UTC) 😀
- Hello MaxyPaxy2004, I appreciate your interest. Thank you for your candor about being new to Wikipedia, I'm always welcome to second opinions from other editors. Honeywell made significant contributions to the response by manufacturing supplies. Below is the context, content, and references I am proposing to the article. What are your thoughts?--Chefmikesf (talk) 17:56, 8 July 2020 (UTC)
- Hi Chefmikesf. I'm happy with what you've given me here and I'll get that into the article as soon as possible (probably later tonight). I'll also explore possible other articles where the content would be appropriate. Just one quick question, do I need to disclose anywhere that you've approached me to do this i.e. I made these edits due to another user's COI? Best wishes, MaxyPaxy2004 (talk) 18:44, 8 July 2020 (UTC) 🇬🇧😀
- Hi MaxyPaxy2004, Sounds great. Feel free to add to the edit comments something like "As per COI editor request on Honeywell talk page" Cheers!--Chefmikesf (talk) 18:55, 8 July 2020 (UTC)
Honeywell COVID-19 Response
|
---|
Request: Honeywell has numerous mentions about its response to the current global pandemic. The article currently has no mention of Honeywell's participation, so I'm proposing a few sentences to summarize its response. Context about the request: The proposed new subsection is called COVID-19 Response, and would be located below the 2015-Present paragraphs in History. Please see the section below with references for consideration in the article. 1. COVID-19 Response[edit]In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Honeywell converted some of its manufacturing facilities in Rhode Island, Arizona, Michigan and Germany to produce critical supplies for healthcare and frontline workers. For N95 mask production, facilities in Smithfield, RI and Phoenix, AZ produce 20 million masks per month. Plants in Muskegon, MI and Seelze, Germany, were converted to produce hand sanitizer for government agencies. Many local governments, including Arizona, Colorado, Florida and North Carolina separately contracted Honeywell to produce N95 masks. The North Carolina Task Force for Emergency Repurposing of Manufacturing (TFERM) awarded Honeywell a contract for the monthly delivery of 100,000 masks. The city of Los Angeles contracted Honeywell to produce 24 million N95 masks. President Donald Trump visited the Honeywell Aerospace facility in Phoenix, AZ on May 5, 2020 where he acknowledged “the incredibly patriotic and hard-working men and women of Honeywell” for making N95 masks.

- Hi Chefmikesf. I've added the content and references you provided me with. Let me know if there's anything I've missed or if you wish to collaborate again in the future. Best wishes, MaxyPaxy2004 (talk) 08:38, 9 July 2020 (UTC) 🇬🇧😀
Additional Edits
[edit]- Hi MaxyPaxy2004, Thanks for your help on this section. Besides the COVID-19 content, What topics are interesting for you to collaborate on? Most of the projects I'm working on are improvements to Company articles and WP:BLPs for notable physician-scientists. Are these of interest to you?--Chefmikesf (talk) 17:42, 9 July 2020 (UTC)
- Hi Chefmikesf. At the moment my main focus is the COVID-19 work; a lot of editors seem to have burned out a bit over the four months after pretty much non-stop news updates, which is completely understandable, so I'm just working on filling in gaps wherever I can. If you think there's anything else relevant to the pandemic I'll happily collaborate on that with you. In regards to the other topics you mentioned, I'm considerably less knowledgeable but if you provide a list of references I can work on adding any bits. It's the summer school break now in the UK so I've got a lot more time on my hands - just let me know if there's anything that I could help with. Best wishes, MaxyPaxy2004 (talk) 18:32, 9 July 2020 (UTC) 🇬🇧😀
- Hi MaxyPaxy2004, That's understandable. If I come across any more COVID-19 content and references I will be sure to reach out to you. I do have one other project with some minor edits and additions to the article. I'm currently petitioning improvements to the Johnson & Johnson Wikipedia article due to my WP:COI with the company. Both the Infobox and Corporate governance sections have some minor errors and missing content. Below are the proposed new sections with references. This collapsible box is also present on the J&J talk page. What are your thoughts on these updates?--Chefmikesf (talk) 19:10, 9 July 2020 (UTC)

Hi Chefmikesf. I'm happy with all of this - I'll try and get it into the article soon. MaxyPaxy2004 (talk) 20:22, 9 July 2020 (UTC) 🇬🇧😀
- MaxyPaxy2004 Right on! thanks--Chefmikesf (talk) 22:42, 9 July 2020 (UTC)
- Hi Chefmikesf. I've got all of that into the Johnson & Johnson article. I'd be happy to help if you've got anything else that needs doing but I've just noticed how much of a mess the COVID-19 pandemic in the United Kingdom article is, so I'll be focusing on updating and tidying that over the next few days. Just give me a shout if there's anything to be done; I'm sure I'll fit it in. MaxyPaxy2004 (talk) 12:26, 10 July 2020 (UTC) 🇬🇧😀
- Hey MaxyPaxy2004, Your additions to the article look great. Thanks again. I will keep you posted on the projects I'm working on and will contact you if I think you may be interested to help :) --Chefmikesf (talk) 19:14, 13 July 2020 (UTC)

Scott W. Lowe Improvement
[edit]Hey MaxyPaxy2004, I thought of one more project with minimal technical additions, rather a project of copyediting, small well-sourced additions, and adding a photo. The Wikipedia article I have a COI with is Scott W. Lowe. Here is my sandbox and the [comparison] with the current article. Let me know if you have any interest or questions!--Chefmikesf (talk) 19:06, 15 July 2020 (UTC)

How do you add emojis to articles?
[edit]Hello! I noticed that you made some changes to Wikipedia articles related to Eurovision Song Contest 2023. For example, in the article Latvia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 you were able to add an Earth emoji to signify a "Rest of the World" vote. How did you do that? When I add emojis, it gives me a warning that my edit won't be saved because it contains an emoji. I would like to add emojis to other articles to keep consistency across Eurovision-related articles. Thanks in advance! PGfan05 (talk) 12:21, 15 May 2023 (UTC)

[edit]Hello! We're organizing the second-ever Exeter in person meet-up, on Saturday, January 18. I saw your name in the Category:Wikipedians in Devon, and thought you might be interested. The meetup is just an informal place to meet other editors, have a chat have and a hot chocolate or cider. If you're interested, you can sign up on the meetup page. —Femke 🐦 (talk) 17:17, 14 December 2024 (UTC)
