Re your message: It looks like the issues related to the article have been resolved. The article has been semi-protected so that should prevent the majority of the vandalism occurring on the article. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 20:24, 16 July 2016 (UTC)

SPI

Hi,

I just wanted to let you know that when dealing with really blatant socking and/or vandalism, it might be better to go to WP:AIV, where the response time is far better. Furthermore, checkusers will nearly never connect IPs with registered accounts. Just wanted to let you know.

Regards,

GABgab 21:31, 25 July 2016 (UTC)

Response

It does not matter. In my personal history, I have received countless warnings for violating 3RR even though my reversions were in good faith and against vandals just like in this case. Finally, a friendly user told me that it was because four reverts is still more than three, no matter the intention, and advised me that if I am already at three reverts, I should wait for other users to join in the fight. Hence why I had to send you the 3RR warning. Parsley Man (talk) 06:04, 27 July 2016 (UTC)

Endre Ady

Hi, I saw that you reverted the last change on the Endre Ady page, and I'd like to understand why. It looks like a good and legitimate link. What am I missing?! Thanks. Nathan43 (talk) 20:29, 26 July 2016 (UTC)

Some advice

I notice you delete messages, but hopefully you will read this and take it to heart. When you write an article, it is best to expand upon the subject instead of making a stub whenever possible. Some of your subjects are clearly notable, but editors may not see that if the time and care is not put into the article. If you want to see a real-world example, look at the now blocked CrazyAces489. He was quantity over quality and it bit him in the end (42 deleted articles!). I am not saying I am an expert but I've written over 200 articles and not one has been deleted so take that info as you want to. Trust me, the additional work will payoff in the long run.TheGracefulSlick (talk) 07:08, 31 July 2016 (UTC)

@TheGracefulSlick: I have checked the oldest revisions of some articles, and they were created through two sources during 2010-2014 period. Rainbow Archer (talk) 07:11, 31 July 2016 (UTC)
I'm sorry I am a little confused by this statement. Are you referring to CrazyAces's history of creating articles or something else?TheGracefulSlick (talk) 07:17, 31 July 2016 (UTC)
@TheGracefulSlick:No, not about Crazyaces. Previously, when I tried to create articles I found that those articles were already created by somebody. I wanted to check the first edits of the history, when the article was created. There I found that in 2012 or 2013, some of those articles were created through two sources only. Rainbow Archer (talk) 07:20, 31 July 2016 (UTC)
Well it is not really the sourcing I am concerned about (except with the Afd I started). It is more about how descriptive your own writing is on the subject. For example I write about musical acts. I could probably write a an article in three sentences about the general career of the group. However, I usually write five paragraphs of information give or take for all my articles. It solidifies the fact the subject is notable and I think that it will help your cause to expand some of your past work and continue to be descriptive in future projects.TheGracefulSlick (talk) 07:31, 31 July 2016 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Millie Brady, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ascot. Rollback granted

Hi Rainbow Archer. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Widr (talk) 21:41, 2 August 2016 (UTC)

Ok...how in the world can the word 'eponymous', meaning something that has a name from a namesake, be in any way called promotional?! Trader Vic's restaurant, which has a wiki page, is named after 'Trader' Vic Bergeron. NPP

Thank you for your enthusiasm. It would have been helped if a) you had read the discussions at WT:NPP where a similar project has been under discussion for several weeks by experienced editors in conjunction with improvements to the Page Curation software that are being discussed with senior staff at the WMF, andwho know how to formulate RfC on such critical issues in order to obtain the most appropriate consensus.. Forgive me for saying so but I don't believe you are aware of the issues that are at stake here or that you have even read WT:NPP. b) Secondly, the VP is not the best lace for such a discussion. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 02:48, 27 August 2016 (UTC)

I have now added the essential fro the RfC that was already being prepared. The problem is that by offering the community multiple options, the hat collectors will vote for the solution that changes the least and continues to allow newbies and inexperienced editors to continue as before. I strongly recommend also lauching the RfC correctly at Wikipedia:New pages patrol/RfC for patroller right, publish it correctly, and notify personally all the users who can legitimately be notified per our policy at WP:Canvass. Best would be to cancel that RfC and start again. You can still take the credit for it. I can help you do this because we now have to save losing two years of preparatory work for something bigger that this is only one part of. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 03:21, 27 August 2016 (UTC)

Hi Marvellous Spider-Man. Thank you for your comprehension. I have closed the RfC as you requested. It will take me a few hours to get the other RfC ready and start it on the page you created. We can make the proposal as joint signatories. It will only offer one choice. If they want to consider other options, they will have to go and start their own RfCs. The hardest work for us will be manually notifying everyone who has participated in related discussions. I'll explain how we can share that task, and how you can publish the new RfC correctly. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 05:23, 27 August 2016 (UTC)

I hope I'm doing this right

I don't know why adding the documentary of Citizen Toxie is considered "not constructive" and "disruptive", it is a sister piece to the film and doesnt have its own wikipage. Yes, not everyone needs to watch it to enjoy Citizen Toxie, but it's still an important part of the film and film making, as would any behind the scenes full length documentary. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:8807:8340:3CA0:6855:8011:FE1A:C46A (talk) 16:41, 30 August 2016 (UTC)

Nomination of 0010x0010 for deletion

Hello Marvellous Spider-Man , 0010x0010 is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. He is labeled audiovisual artist and not specifically musician or director (although google search results in a tab stating musical artist). The references provided are credible and showcase his involvement and association with various notable people, projects and labels (under various pseudonyms and his real name) which make him suitable for a wiki page.I think the page should be called 0010x0010 since it's his most current and active profile. I couldn't find any notable films directed by him , but since IMDB mentions him as a director I thought it would be logical to add the title. I don't think this page should be deleted , but perhaps you have any suggestions to edit this page properly since there are so many pseudonyms and titles. Thank you very much !

CSD tagging

Hello Marvellous Spider-Man - thanks for your help today with CSD tagging. Just some advice for you - CSD U5 is better for user/user talk pages which are blatant WP:NOTWEBHOST violations (such as self-promotion), and A7 is for unremarkable persons (example: someone writing an article about themselves, or an article about a person with no claim to notability). I've edited two of your tags accordingly. Have a good day, Zerotalk 11:20, 20 September 2016 (UTC)

@Patient Zero: WP:Huggle don't have the option for A7. --Marvellous Spider-Man 11:54, 20 September 2016 (UTC)
It does. I'm not sure what it's called in full - "unremarkable person" perhaps? I don't CSD tag on HG - quicker on Twinkle - but I do counter-vandalism work on there frequently. Useful tool indeed. Anyway, do let me know if you cannot find the criterion, as I'll try and get on my computer to have a look. Zerotalk 18:37, 20 September 2016 (UTC)

Okay, thank you. Is this a reliable source: http://www.resultados-futbol.com/clausura_peru/grupo1/equipos — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.159.174.122 (talk) 07:43, 22 September 2016 (UTC)

Jt LeRoy

Hello there Marvelous Spider Man,

I will re try to edit with citations. I have put citations in and I have found my contributions edited regardless. Also, "The documentarian Jeff Feuerzeig co-produced, wrote, and directed a film documenting the scandal, titled Author: The JT LeRoy Story, which premiered in United States theaters in September of 2016" as no citation but does not get removed. How could that be the case? Thank you for your help. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Msturm 8 (talkcontribs) 17:16, 22 September 2016 (UTC)

Hello there again, I have continued to post with citations and they are all promptly being deleted for no reason. I'm keep my contributions factual. I have included an update about Dr. Owens with a citation and it is promptly being removed. I have always felt that the JT LeRoy is very biased and doesn't represent the history of the scandal.

I so would appreciate your help on the best way to proceed. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Msturm 8 (talkcontribs) 00:31, 23 September 2016 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Lola Bessis, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Thank you for patrolling new pages. Please do not use Higgle for this - it's not what Huggle was designed for and you will get your patrols wrong as you did at Emam Ali (Musician). To correctly patrol pages, you must perfectly understand WP:NPP and use the NewPagesFeed or do it mnnaually withTwinkle. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 08:19, 27 November 2016 (UTC)

@Kudpung: I didn't patrol that page with Huggle. I marked it for speedy deletion. --Marvellous Spider-Man 08:25, 27 November 2016 (UTC)
(Tagging page for speedy deletion: Emam Ali (Musician) (HG) (3.1.21)) (Tag: Huggle) - --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 08:36, 27 November 2016 (UTC)
@Kudpung:, Yes I used Huggle to tag it for speedy deletion. Huggle must have some codes which might have automatically patrolled the page. If you check revision history I marked it for speedy deletion again. The editor was removing the speedy deletion tag. I didn't patrol the page. Marvellous Spider-Man 09:25, 27 November 2016 (UTC)
Plese do not use Huggle for patrolling new pages. The first tag you made was wrong. New Page Patrolling is something we have to start getting right, and that's why we've introduced the New Page Reviewer right. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 10:00, 27 November 2016 (UTC)
@Kudpung: It'll be hard to avoid patrolling new pages while still tagging/reverting/etc. them if Huggle somehow automatically patrols them. Huggle doesn't seem to have an option to disable patrolling edits, new pages or not. However, I do note that Special:BotPasswords (which can be used to login to Huggle) does have an option to disable patrolling edits. However, I believe that page can only assign "bots" (They're really just ways to limit an external application's ability to interact with Wikipedia using your account, not actual Wikipedia bots.) permissions that the users they're under already have, regardless of whatever checkboxes are checked. So if we're somehow marking pages as patrolled without having the user right, it's not through that. Gestrid (talk) 05:33, 29 November 2016 (UTC)
No one, not even a bot , can mark a page as 'patrolled'. However, editors who repeatedly use Huggle to tag pages too quickly and/or incorrectly, are likely to find themselves losing the right to use it. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 10:00, 29 November 2016 (UTC)
@Kudpung: Ok, that makes sense. Above, it sounded like we were somehow able to tag pages as 'patrolled' when using Huggle. What you just said is something I now specifically try to avoid after the first warning I got. Gestrid (talk) 15:51, 29 November 2016 (UTC)

Kindly explain how my addition to the "Criticism" section of Wolff's page (notwithstanding the edit of the journalist hyperlink) was in any way more "disruptive" or a form of "soapboxing" than the current language on the page. Please and thank you. --Cooler710 (talk) 03:38, 5 December 2016 (UTC)

Article

I talked to the actual author of that image I removed and he said it was highly inarticulately drawn. It should not be there. I can take a screenshot of my email and put it on the web if needed be. I still have the email. Shoakhanmk (talk) 16:48, 5 December 2016 (UTC)

@Shoakhanmk: You can change the image after uploading new correct image according to Wikipedia's image upload process, but you can't blank the entire section of that article. --Marvellous Spider-Man 16:56, 5 December 2016 (UTC)
If it's inaccurate, I don't see why not? I don't have and image. Just that the author that originally created that image said it was incorrectly drawn up (it was originally from a book, and a wiki user made his own interpretation from it.). Why should it stay? I'm just removing anything that has to do with that image. Nothing else from that article page. Shoakhanmk (talk) 17:20, 5 December 2016 (UTC)

Declined speedy deletion nomination of Meg Hall

Hello Marvellous Spider-Man. Speedy deletion work is important and I do appreciate the effort. I would just ask that you please review the criteria carefully because accuracy is also important. On that issue, I have declined your speedy deletion nomination of Meg Hall as an article that does not credibly indicate the importance or significance of the topic under CSD A7. That criterion did not apply because having roles in notable TV programmes is a credible indication of "importance or significance". Remember that CSD A7 is a lower standard than what is required to demonstrate notability – it does not, for example, require that the article's text already contain citations to reliable sources that would be necessary to prove notability, but only that it contain a claim that, were it true, might reasonably make the subject a valid encyclopaedia topic (if proper sourcing could later be found). Adam9007 (talk) 22:24, 14 December 2016 (UTC)

Beau Davidson

Hi -- the source for the controversy is the YouTube video I linked to. I'll do this again and add a second source. Please consider taking action against "BeauDavidson" who is editing his own Wikipedia entry, which is an obvious conflict of interest.

Then add a secondary source instead of YouTube. --Marvellous Spider-Man 01:29, 16 December 2016 (UTC)

I did not realize that a link to a YouTube video was not good enough. I will now remove anything in the entry that relies solely on a YouTube link. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2604:2000:D081:5100:2D9F:8E42:6EF5:27B6 (talk) 01:33, 16 December 2016 (UTC)

Hi- the youtube video in question is a violation of applicable copyright laws, and was removed via its original source- Soundcloud, for copyright infringement. User Chris Caesar is intentionally editing the Beau Davidson page in an attempt to defame and slander Mr. Davidson, and is evident of libel, slander, and defamation. Caesar is not using a logged in username, because he does not want to be identified, but his content was removed from facebook to this exact Medium blog, classified as "hate speech." That is two sites now that have removed his content in a blatant effort defame a well-known artist and respected songwriter. Please ensure that his IP no longer can edit the Beau Davidson page, as he is intentionally doing this, and is about to receive legal action for this harassment. See twitter @ChrisCaesar and the aforementioned Medium blog, which may be removed due to community standard and privacy violations.

I request both the editors to discuss on article talk page and then visit WP:DRN and file a new request. There is a neutral volunteer who will listen to both parties and take a neutral decision according to WP:NPOV. Marvellous Spider-Man 05:53, 16 December 2016 (UTC)

Articles and notability

Just dropping a note since I've seen come up a couple of times in your AfD nominations. As a rule, articles don't pass or fail GNG. Subjects pass or fail GNG. For a subject to fail notability, is a general statement about all the sources that exist in the world at a given time. On the other hand, what the article does is demonstrate notability by showing what kinds of sources are out there.

That might just be mixing up words, but it is important to note that what you are evaluating at AfD is the topic, not the state of the article. TimothyJosephWood 18:36, 23 December 2016 (UTC)

New Page Reviewer

Hello Marvellous Spider-Man. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group, allowing you to review new pages and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or in some cases, tag them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is a vital function for policing the quality of the encylopedia, if you have not already done so, you must read the new tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the various deletion criteria. If you need more help or wish to discuss the process, please join or start a thread at page reviewer talk.

  • URGENT: Please consider helping get the huge backlog (around 15,000 pages) down to a manageable number of pages as soon as possible.
  • Be nice to new users - they are often not aware of doing anything wrong.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted - be formal and polite in your approach to them too, even if they are not.
  • Don't review a page if you are not sure what to do. Just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Remember that quality is quintessential to good patrolling. Take your time to patrol each article, there is no rush. Use the message feature and offer basic advice.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In case of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, the right can be revoked at any time by an administrator. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 01:22, 23 January 2017 (UTC)

New Page Review - newsletter No.2

Hello Marvellous Spider-Man,
A HUGE backlog

We now have 812 New Page Reviewers!
Most of us requested the user right at PERM, expressing a wish to be able to do something about the huge backlog, but the chart on the right does not demonstrate any changes to the pre-user-right levels of October.

Hitting 17,000 soon

The backlog is still steadily growing at a rate of 150 a day or 4,650 a month. Only 20 reviews a day by each reviewer over the next few days would bring the backlog down to a managable level and the daily input can then be processed by each reviewer doing only 2 or 3 reviews a day - that's about 5 minutes work!
It didn't work in time to relax for the Xmas/New Year holidays. Let's see if we can achieve our goal before Easter, otherwise by Thanksgiving it will be closer to 70,000.

Second set of eyes

Remember that we are the only guardians of quality of new articles, we alone have to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged by non-Reviewer patrollers and that new authors are not being bitten.

Abuse

This is even more important and extra vigilance is required considering Orangemoody, and

  1. this very recent case of paid advertising by a Reviewer resulting in a community ban.
  2. this case in January of paid advertising by a Reviewer, also resulting in a community ban.
  3. This Reviewer is indefinitely blocked for sockpuppetry.

Coordinator election

Kudpung is stepping down after 6 years as unofficial coordinator of New Page Patrolling/Reviewing. There is enough work for two people and two coords are now required. Details are at NPR Coordinators; nominate someone or nominate yourself. Date for the actual suffrage will be published later.

Hello Marvellous Spider-Man,

Still a MASSIVE backlog

We now have 812 New Page Reviewers but despite numerous appeals for help, the backlog has NOT been significantly reduced.
If you asked for the New Page Reviewer right, please consider investing a bit of time - every little helps preventing spam and trash entering the mainspace and Google when the 'NO_INDEX' tags expire.

Backlog update:

  • The new page backlog is currently at 18,511 pages. We have worked hard to decrease from over 22,000, but more hard work is needed! Please consider reviewing even just a few pages a a day.
  • Some editors are committing to work specifically on patrolling new pages on 15 July. If you have not reviewed new pages in a while, this might be a good time to be involved. Please remember that quality of patrolling is more important than quantity, that the speedy deletion criteria should be followed strictly, and that ovetagging for minor issues should be avoided.

Technology update:

  • Several requests have been put into Phabractor to increase usability of the New Pages Feed and the Page Curation toolbar. For more details or to suggest improvements go to Wikipedia:Page Curation/Suggested improvements

You tagged Greeman Software Solution Private Limited with CSD-A7 DB-Corp. I reverted and retagged it with G-11 Advertising. It was blatantly promotional. Your draft article, Draft:Susie Abromeit

Hello, Marvellous Spider-Man. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Susie Abromeit".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Legacypac (talk) 18:22, 8 September 2017 (UTC)

Hello Marvellous Spider-Man, thank you for your efforts reviewing new pages!

Backlog update:

  • The new page backlog is currently at 14304 pages. We have worked hard to decrease from over 22,000, but more hard work is needed! Please consider reviewing even just a few pages a day.
  • Currently there are 532 pages in the backlog that were created by non-autoconfirmed users before WP:ACTRIAL. The NPP project is undertaking a drive to clear these pages from the backlog before they hit the 90 day Google index point. Please consider reviewing a few today!

Technology update:

  • The Wikimedia Foundation is currently working on creating a new filter for page curation that will allow new page patrollers to filter by extended confirmed status. For more information see: T175225

General project update:

  • On 14 September 2017 the English Wikipedia began the autoconfirmed article creation trial. For a six month period, creation of articles in the mainspace of the English Wikipedia will be restricted to users with autoconfirmed status. New users who attempt article creation will now be redirected to a newly designed landing page.

Rapkingk warnings

I left this user a level-three warning about promotional behavior: you followed it up with a level four warning, despite no new edits having been made. This is verging on bitey behavior, and also dilutes the effect of the warnings. Please be a bit more careful. Vanamonde (talk) 16:15, 8 November 2017 (UTC)

@Vanamonde93:He was doing this in other pages as Spoken word, and Desi hip hop, made yesterday but not reverted which wasn't noticed by anybody? There was not so bitey about one day old editor whose only edits was to promote his band.--Marvellous Spider-Man 16:17, 8 November 2017 (UTC)
The issue is not with the level four warning. If you had left that yesterday, immediately after those edits, it would not have been a problem. The issue is with leaving a new warning despite no new edits. The correct process for a promotional editor is to revert, warn, and wait. If they repeat the behavior, warn them again: if they've received a level four warning already, report them. If their behavior is egregious, you can skip warning levels, as indeed I did. But our warnings are meant to stop bad behavior. If no bad edits occur after a warning, yet another warning is BITEY. Vanamonde (talk) 16:39, 8 November 2017 (UTC)

New Page Reviewer Newsletter

Hello Marvellous Spider-Man, thank you for your efforts reviewing new pages!

Backlog update:

  • The new page backlog is currently at 12713 pages. Please consider reviewing even just a few pages each day! If everyone helps out, it will really put a dent in the backlog.
  • Currently the backlog stretches back to March and some pages in the backlog have passed the 90 day Google index point. Please consider reviewing some of them!

Outreach and Invitations:

  • If you know other editors with a good understanding of Wikipedia policy, invite them to join NPP by dropping the invitation template on their talk page with: {{subst:NPR invite}}. Adding more qualified reviewers will help with keeping the backlog manageable.

New Year New Page Review Drive

  • A backlog drive is planned for the start of the year, beginning on January 1st and running until the end of the month. Unique prizes will be given in tiers for both the total number of reviews made, as well as the longest 'streak' maintained.
  • Note: quality reviewing is extremely important, please do not sacrifice quality for quantity.

General project update:

  • ACTRIAL has resulted in a significant increase in the quality of new submissions, with noticeably fewer CSD, PROD, and BLPPROD candidates in the new page feed. However, the majority of the backlog still dates back to before ACTRIAL started, so consider reviewing articles from the middle or back of the backlog.
  • The NPP Browser can help you quickly find articles with topics that you prefer to review from within the backlog.

New Years new page backlog drive

Hello Marvellous Spider-Man, thank you for your efforts reviewing new pages!

Announcing the NPP New Year Backlog Drive!

We have done amazing work so far in December to reduce the New Pages Feed backlog by over 3000 articles! Now is the time to capitalise on our momentum and help eliminate the backlog!

The backlog drive will begin on January 1st and run until January 29th. Prize tiers and other info can be found HERE.

Awards will be given in tiers in two categories:

  • The total number of reviews completed for the month.

A page you started (Seána Kerslake) has been reviewed!

Thanks for creating Seána Kerslake, Marvellous Spider-Man!

Wikipedia editor Gaioa just reviewed your page, and wrote this note for you:

Good, she appears to be just about notable enough - having starred in (at least) one notable award-winning film, and having a recognition by herself. But please do expand it and fix it - she is "best known" for a film that is not linked=not notable?

To reply, leave a comment on Gaioa's talk page.

New Page Reviewer Newsletter

Hello Marvellous Spider-Man, thank you for your efforts in reviewing new pages!
The NPP backlog at the end of the drive with the number of unreviewed articles by creation date. Red is older than 90 days, orange is between 90 and 30 days old, and green is younger than 30 days.

Backlog update:

  • The new page backlog is currently at 3819 unreviewed articles, with a further 6660 unreviewed redirects.
  • We are very close to eliminating the backlog completely; please help by reviewing a few extra articles each day!

New Year Backlog Drive results:

  • We made massive progress during the recent four weeks of the NPP Backlog Drive, during which the backlog reduced by nearly six thousand articles and the length of the backlog by almost 3 months!

General project update:

  • ACTRIAL will end it's initial phase on the 14th of March. Our goal is to reduce the backlog significantly below the 90 day index point by the 14th of March. Please consider helping with this goal by reviewing a few additional pages a day.
  • Reviewing redirects is an important and necessary part of New Page Patrol. Please read the guideline on appropriate redirects for advice on reviewing redirects. Inappropriate redirects can be re-targeted or nominated for deletion at RfD.

Ways to improve Lili Beaudoin

Hi, I'm Insertcleverphrasehere. Marvellous Spider-Man, thanks for creating Lili Beaudoin!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Need more than just references to the award for this. any additional detail other than this?

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

New Page Review Newsletter No.10

Hello Marvellous Spider-Man, thank you for your work reviewing New Pages!

ACTRIAL:

  • ACTRIAL's six month experiment restricting new page creation to (auto)confirmed users ended on 14 March. As expected, a greatly increased number of unsuitable articles and candidates for deletion are showing up in the feed again, and the backlog has since increased already by ~30%. Please consider reviewing a few extra articles each day.

Paid editing

  • Now that ACTRIAL is inoperative pending discussion, please be sure to look for tell-tale signs of undisclosed paid editing. Contact the creator if appropriate, and submit the issue to WP:COIN if necessary.

Subject-specific notability guidelines

Nominate competent users for Autopatrolled

  • While patrolling articles, if you find an editor that is particularly competent at creating quality new articles, and that user has created more than 25 articles (rather than stubs), consider nominating them for the 'Autopatrolled' user right HERE.

News

  • The next issue Wikipedia's newspaper The Signpost has now been published after a long delay. There are some articles in it, including ACTRIAL wrap-up that will be of special interest to New Page Reviewers. Don't hesitate to contribute to the comments sections. The Signpost is one of the best ways to stay up date with news and new developments - please consider subscribing to it. All editors of Wikipedia and associated projects are welcome to submit articles on any topic for consideration by the The Signpost's editorial team for the next issue.

It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
