Speedy deletion nomination of Abdul Salam El Termanini
[edit]A tag has been placed on Abdul Salam El Termanini requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Bonewah (talk) 14:15, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit]You're welcome. I created a lot of the articles and templates, a lot of them in the belief that some day people like you will come along and add their knowledge and sources about them.. If you can expand them using sources you have and add any photographs you have I look forward to seeing them develop. Keep up the good work! You may be interested in Wikipedia:WikiProject Libya. Fair use rationale for File:IdrisI2.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:IdrisI2.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 02:20, 4 October 2009 (UTC)
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.
Darnah
[edit]In August 2009 you added the sentence: There is an association in Darnah named Al Haila interested in gathering Libyan antiquities. to the Darnah, Libya article. Do you have a citation for that? Could you explain how it is relevant to the article, so that it could be placed in the appropriate section? --Bejnar (talk) 17:01, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for your reply. I was a bit concerned about its notability as it was not mentioned in the three guidebooks that I consulted. Do they run a museum under another name? Remember that Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information. --Bejnar (talk) 16:49, 1 November 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Barrah bint Abdul Uzza
[edit]Hello Maher27777,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Barrah bint Abdul Uzza for deletion, because it seems to be inappropriate for a variety of reasons.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

[edit]User:Dr. Blofeld has created Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/Contests. The idea is to run a series of contests/editathons focusing on each region of Africa. He has spoken to Wikimedia about it and $1000-1500 is possible for prize money. Adding non-existent categories to articles
[edit]Please don't do it, OK? GiantSnowman 09:36, 13 August 2016 (UTC)
Hello. I've revamped the contest page into this, based on the new British model. Long term goal, but I've added entries since the beginning of July to give it some initial life. Please add anything you've done then this then too! I hope it proves productive long term. The contests are still planned, but will be more tools towards increasing bulk output in overall goal. It's a permanent goal now, and open! I would be grateful if you could keep a record of all your articles you do there, as I really think seeing the combined efforts will encourage others to create more content too! Please spread the word to the others, cheers!♦ Dr. Blofeld 09:16, 3 September 2016 (UTC)

Hi. Thankyou for your participation in the challenge series or/and contests. In November The Women in Red World Contest is being held to try to produce new articles for as many countries worldwide and occupations as possible. There will be over $4000 in prizes to win, including Amazon vouchers and paid subscriptions. If this would appeal to you and you think you'd be interested in contributing new articles on women during this month for your region or wherever please sign up in the participants section. The articles done may also count towards the ongoing challenge. If you're not interested in prize money yourself but are willing to participate and raise money to buy books about women for others to use, this is also fine. Help would also be appreciated in drawing up the lists of missing articles. If you think of any missing articles please add them to the sub lists by continent at Missing articles. Thankyou, and if taking part, good luck!♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:11, 4 October 2017 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:2019 Africa Cup of Nations managers
[edit]A tag has been placed on Category:2019 Africa Cup of Nations managers requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read! Talk! 19:34, 13 June 2019 (UTC)

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2022 in public domain, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Palestine (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Mustafa Ben Halim
[edit]Hi,
regarding Mustafa Ben Halim, I'm quite confident he is not dead. An important political figure like him would have gotten many obituaries from Libyan news sites, so I think the Libya Akhbar one is simply a mishap. I saw reports of his death began circulating on Facebook on February 18. Anyway, to revert every edit when there is an (apparently) reliable source reporting it basing ourselves on an edit summary is not so righteous. I know the user which made the edits and he is (usually) correct. But I'd really like to find at least a denial from his family, to be sure. Thanks for your interest, this is not a moot point at all. --Folengo (talk) 19:20, 22 February 2021 (UTC)
John J. Richardson moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, John J. Richardson, is not suitable as written to remain published. You must include citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Thanks, EDG 543 (message me) 14:38, 22 March 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Australians entering the Public Domain 2022
[edit]Eothan (talk) 02:33, 31 December 2021 (UTC) Hi thanks for the heads up on Australian authors. I have created a list of authors, politicians, artsits, and public figures who died in 1951 as I thought their unpublished material (letters, manuscripts, drawings etc) would have been under copyright until 70 years after their death. So I'm wondering where it would it be best to add this list of names - there are around 30 of them? Best.
- @Eothan: You can add them to Countries with life + 70 years list in the same page. Singers are not authors. Songwriters and Musicians are. You can add any one who wrote even one copyrighted work. Works of Australian authors who died up to 1954 are in public domain in Australia. Authors who died in 1955 will enter public domain in Australia in 2026, 1956 in 2027, and so on. Thanks.--Maher27777 (talk) 06:51, 31 December 2021 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Roy Brooks (disambiguation)
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Roy Brooks (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a disambiguation page which either
- disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
- disambiguates zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
- is an orphaned redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that does not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.
If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
