- Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
- It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
- If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
- Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
- When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
- If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
- Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

The Administrator's page
[edit]Hi. I see that you are new to Wikipedia and welcome!. The Admin pages don't operate like a new person would expect. Different threads of conversation will have different levels of Admin enragement. For instance, admins did not get involved to take action in the long thread regarding Rachel Helps. This is because the community itself was working out the issues and the final decisions. There are other times the admins will block someone right away depending on the urgency and how disruptive to Wikipedia the offender is. Other times an Admin will just engage in conversation and state what he or she sees as going on.
Anyway, I think I am trying to say, don't expect Admins to jump in right away and take action. It depends on the situation. Also, admins have to be careful about the actions they take. They do have to provide feedback for their mistakes. If they make a serious error or make a bad judgement call it could cause him or her some problems. They answer to the community. So, as I said, they have to be aware of the actions they take and the implications of those actions. Well, I hope this helps. Please enjoy your time on Wikipedia. And I am glad you are actively participating. Regards, ---Steve Quinn (talk) 07:31, 24 March 2024 (UTC)
- I would also like to suggest that, as a brand-new editor, you might be better off observing what happens at administrative noticeboards for a while, before you try to contribute there: Wikipedia has an unusual set of social norms and policies and it is very rare for someone to have useful contributions to make to resolving disputes after only a month editing and a few dozen edits. --JBL (talk) 20:26, 24 March 2024 (UTC)
- @Maestrofin i can see you've commented again at ANI, asking "
Who are we discussing about again is it Rachel helps or her students Or all,
" - i suggest you heed the above advice and hold off from commenting on giant, unpleasant threads about complex disputes. ANI is not a very fun place to hang out, and perhaps you'd be better off improving articles or participating in talk page discussions. happy editing :) ... sawyer * he/they * talk 03:28, 25 March 2024 (UTC)

Trouted
[edit]Whack! You've been whacked with a wet trout. Don't take this too seriously. Someone just wants to let you know that you did something silly. |
You have been trouted for: Trouting me for "maintenance." I have that trout there so that I can know if I did something dumb that I can learn from, not just for the sake of being trouted. But I'm fine with the trout if there's a good reason. That Tired TarantulaBurrow 18:53, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
