Stubs
I;ve created {{1930s-Italy-film-stub}} etc through to 2000s. And Italy-silent-film-stub. Also you may want to see this The Bald One White cat 14:33, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
Yes I was going to but the last few requests I;ve left nobody responded. I think it would be a good way of rooting out what specifically needs developing to start class by year, I know it would be useful for me and would also create an organized way in which we can try to improve quality so when you browse through the year categories many of the have been "de-stubbed". Given that they use US templates for other detailed topics I don't think it would be a problem for film. Just need a bit of boldness red linking and creating them and then implementing them The Bald One White cat 14:44, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
Thats good work your're doing with blue linking all those danish films and actors. I could have sworn you had created over 25,000 articles by now like myself. Poul Reichhardt films also need starting. I wimped out of doing those silent films (for now). The Bald One White cat 18:44, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
Hi Lugs. Can you help me stub sort the French films. We need to reduce Category:French film stubs and split by decade e.g rather than {{France-film-stub}} use {{1970s-France-film-stub}}. Could you help whittle it down? I;ve done 2000s and as I;ve been going along I;ve been copying and pasting in the {CinemaofFrance} templates two to kill two birds with one stone. Blofeld of SPECTRE (talk) 10:39, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
Given up on Danish cinema have you? I see you;ve started on Klaus Kinski. Good choice, one of the few actors who were as crazy in person as they were in film. That guy scared the crap out of me. Psycho Blofeld of SPECTRE (talk) 16:31, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
I'll think of some more Danish ones. What really needs doing at present is filling out French films from 1900-1950. 1950s- present already have been sorted into their own stub categories and have a lot of coerage particularly from 1965 onwards but we need to ensure there ar eover 60 films in each of the earlier decade categories first. Do you think you could create some and ensure there are over 60 from each deacde? I;ve noticed a huge uneveness btween films after 1950 and those before, the classics of the 1930s and 1940s are mostly missing. If I create seperate categories, to you think you could add it to your to-do list? I;ve already created the templates e.g {{1940s-France-film-stub}}Blofeld of SPECTRE (talk) 18:32, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
Sure I'll scout for some now. I've created Category:1900s French film stubs to 1940 now. Just need filling. Right lets find some prolific French silent directors first (shouldn't be too difficult). Offhand the first one that came into my head was Alice Guy, the only problem is imdb is pretty empty on details for many of them. I'll find some directors which have more details on on imdb first I thinkBlofeld of SPECTRE (talk) 18:41, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
OK heres some:
- Georges Méliès
- Jacques Feyder
- Abel Gance
- Jean Epstein
- Julien Duvivier
- Jean Renoir
- Georges Lacombe (film director)
- Any films starring Pierre Fresnay is a good indication during 30s and 40s.
- Jean Dréville (missing article) produced some notable films in the 1930s and 1940s was very underated.
That should be enough for now, don't want to put too much on you! Best Blofeld of SPECTRE (talk) 18:58, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
Nice oneBlofeld of SPECTRE (talk) 19:06, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
Remember to use {{1960s-Italy-film-stub}}! We need to sort Italian film stubs out to sometime!Blofeld of SPECTRE (talk) 18:41, 24 October 2008 (UTC)
Yes it makes me considerably more evil don't ya think? Der Doktor. I spent six frickin years in evil medicine school so that has to account for something. If you wondering why the wiki was slow the other night with a lag of like 300 seconds you now know why! Dr. Blofeld 14:30, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Paul Bildt
A tag has been placed on Paul Bildt requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Whaatt (talk) 19:51, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

Klaus Kinski
Thanks for the many, constructive edits on Klaus Kinski. Could you, please, be making your edits all together, or in as few tries as possible? Otherwise, the history log gets clogged and loses on orientation. -The Gnome (talk) 12:28, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

Imdb trouble
Hi Lugs. I was wondering if you've had trouble with imdb. Everytime I try to search for something on imdb it just freezes. Its been like it for a few weeks. It means I can no longer contribute to starting film articles. Any idea why it is? Count Blofeld 18:16, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
Its weird. I have a feeling it is to do with spyware problems I've been having. Its just I have a truckload of Italian and French films I wanted to start but I can't. Count Blofeld 18:20, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
Thats exactly what I mean. A fair few articles have an infobox with the IMDb link in them, but don't have an EL section so in effetc it blocks off imdb. Boo hoo Count Blofeld 10:30, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
P.S. can you also place Template:Americanfilmlist on your watchlist. We've come across another obsessive user who insists on removing all images and icons leaving them looking starkers. Count Blofeld 10:36, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
Hey can you blue link those in the intro to William Garwood? Count Blofeld 13:47, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Giant Records (independent label)
A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Giant Records (independent label), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:
- Not notable
All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Redirect of Slit Jockey
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Slit Jockey, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Slit Jockey is a redirect to a non-existent page (CSD R1).
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Slit Jockey, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. NFB video links
You're most welcome. The NFB has a launched their "beta" version of their site, which features free streaming video of vastly more films: 700 complete films, trailers and clips, in fact. And their viewer seems to be much larger than previous versions. I'll try to add more. Shawn in Montreal (talk) 13:50, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

Hello
Suggesting I "vandalized" Star! by "removing credible reference sources to unreferenced facts" is laughable, given all the work I did on this article to improve it. I suggest you look at all the 2008 film articles User:Eric, a respected coordinator of the film project, currently is updating with recent nomination and awards data. None of them reference any sources. If such data needed to be referenced, certainly Eric of all people would know that. LiteraryMaven (talk) 17:58, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
- May I respectfully suggest you raise this issue on the film project talk page? I suspect the consensus will agree that awards and nominations do not have to be referenced, especially since most are wikilinked to articles about the specific awards that also do not reference them. As I stated above, if a respected coordinator of the film project is not referencing them, I assume such references are not required. Thank you! LiteraryMaven (talk) 18:29, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
- P.S. You added the names Boris Leven, Walter M. Scott, and Howard Bristol following the category Academy Award for Best Art Direction. Ironically, only Leven is listed in the source you referenced. So much for the validity of references, eh? LiteraryMaven (talk) 18:44, 27 December 2008 (UTC)

I'm glad someone else saw this too. If the article makes it out of AfD, that will be my very first action. As it is, I did not want to take a chance on it messing up something in the software. I've seen it happen before and hated the mess. As long as it will only be a couple days, the fix can be held off. Fair enough? Best for the New Year, Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 09:29, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
- Rude?? Nahhhhh. But just as you look up and see a bluelink and a redlink as the title of this section, that same thing can and sometimes does happen when an article at AfD is moved. A WP:Move can take of the page and history, but not the internal program links at AfD and the various projects. So a brief wait is better safe than sorry. ANd thank you very much for having the courtesy to ask that question. Much gratitude on you. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 09:35, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
- It survived the AfD as a strong keep. I have now moved the page so'you'll see 2 bluelinks for a day or so and then the old linkwill go red. Happy Holidays! Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 19:28, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
