[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page PAdES has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. I removed the following link(s): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZzJDcY8vyQ4&NR=1 (matching the regex rule \byoutube\.com). If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy and therefore probably should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file. Video links are also strongly deprecated by our guidelines for external links, partly because they're useless to people with slow internet connections.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 13:53, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of User:Lrosenthol
[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. A tag has been placed on User:Lrosenthol requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Contested deletion
[edit]This page should not be speedily deleted because it is serving to provide information about me, as a user/editor/author on Wikipedia. It is not used in any promotion, and in fact, there exists *no* external links that point back to it. It appears consistent with any/all other user pages. If there a specific items on the page that require changes, I am happy to make them - but I see no reason to delete the entire page.

Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Lrosenthol. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page C2PA, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 19:33, 6 August 2023 (UTC)
- == Conflict of interest ==
- Theroadislong I believe that I have done everything correctly, as you note above.
- My "User page" (which someone also marked for delete??) clearly states my employer and other pages/organizations that I am involved with - to specifically ensure that I do *NOT* write about them and have fully disclosed any issues.
- The reason I commented on the deletion of the C2PA page was as an interested/impacted party and not the actual author of the page. I felt that deletion of the page without notification to impacted parties should, itself, be considered a conflict of interest - since it would allow a competitor (or any party that "had a grudge") to remove material w/o an opportunity for rebuttal. I did not see any valid justification given - including citing of any material from the (now deleted) page. As such, I am asking that the page be re-instated, that specific issues be identified by the original party, and a fair opportunity be given to correct those issues. Your user page
[edit]See WP:USERPAGE for what is allowed on your user page, the content you added did NOT relate to your activities on Wikipedia, it read like a CV. Theroadislong (talk) 21:50, 6 August 2023 (UTC)
- So on that page, it states two things that seem relevant:
- In the description of "User Pages", it states:
- Its normal use is to give basic information, if you wish, about yourself or your Wikimedia-related activities . So I was writing some information about myself. I wasn't promoting any specific entities, just mentioning things about myself that are relevant to my Wikimedia activities - or more specifically, identifying areas where I might have a conflict of interest.
- Under the list of "legitimate uses of user space" is: Limited autobiographical content. I thought by reducing the amount of material about me - or more specifically about the work that I do, I was within that "limited" set.
- If you can give me more guidance on how to provide the necessary COI information on my user page, in a way that would be appropriate - I would appreciate it. Lrosenthol (talk) 13:23, 7 August 2023 (UTC)
