Hi Lotje, sorry for this late response, I tried to translate that, but might not be exact:

One day, Hanshan (a buddhist) asked Shide (a buddhist), saying: people in the world defame me, bully me, insult me, laugh at me, despise me, hate me, deceive me... how should I do?

Shide answered: You would better endure him, concede him, excuse him, avoid meeting him, tolerate him, respect him, not listen to him... after a few years, you will see what kind of person he becomes.

This dialogue is from a buddhism book Book of Hanshan-Shide. I personally think this dialogue teaches me how to regonize myself through controversial topics -- concentrating on your working (e.g. editing articles) instead of being fully impacted by the other's criticisms (e.g. their political tendencies). --Walter Grassroot |talk 10:14, 15 February 2013 (UTC)
