Teaching Seven Stories about Wikipedia
[edit]Hi; it was a pleasant and informative session, wasn't it? Just a notice, you correctly posted to me but you were in Simple English Wikipedia which is one of mine but not where most English-language editors will look. Since most of the group were completely unfamiliar with our methods and customs, I am currently writing a group E-mail. Eventually, we should get these discussions to operate on-wiki since it's less private that way. Oh, and I'm putting a copy of this reply in your English Wikipedia User Talk Page. ENWP is better for this. Jim.henderson (talk) 01:41, 10 December 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you Jim! Why did I keep getting into Simple English? So wonderful to meet you tonight. Librarysparkle (talk) 04:39, 10 December 2024 (UTC)
- It's easy enough to get confused. The whole system of 300+ language Wikipedias and dozens of auxiliary sites all with User Pages and Talk Pages for all the few million registered users is confusing; it was not designed as a system. Rather, new wings of our house kept being added over the years whenever a particular need arose. You should put me and your friends on your Watchlist, and Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC for information about announced meetups, and check every few days at least.
