Welcome
[edit]Welcome!
Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:
- The Five Pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Editing tutorial
- Picture tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Naming conventions
- Manual of Style
Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:
- Respect copyrights - do not copy and paste text or images directly from other websites.
- Maintain a neutral point of view - this is possibly the most important Wikipedia policy.
- Take particular care while adding biographical material about a living person to any Wikipedia page. Particularly, controversial and negative statements should be referenced to multiple reliable sources.
- No Sockpuppetry.
- If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
- Do not add troublesome content to any article, such as: copyrighted text, libel, advertising or promotional messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject. Deliberately adding such content or otherwise editing articles maliciously is considered vandalism, doing so will result your account or IP being blocked from editing.
The Wikipedia Tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Dispute at EDL
[edit]The only dispute is whether there should be a tag. Please justify the placing of the tag on the talk page or it will be removed. Verbal chat 12:40, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
You need to spend some time using the links on the welcome notice above. WIkipedia policy on tags requires an explanation to be given on the talk page. Continued reversion without providing a reason will just result in warnings for vandalism and a possible block. --Snowded TALK 16:16, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
The Far-right tag is disputed.
Stop the vandalism to this page please--LiberalJames (talk) 16:19, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
- Far right is sourced within the article by reliable sources. You do not have reason to tag the whole article. Please state your reasons for the tag on the talk page of the article itself. --Snowded TALK 16:24, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
- The far right tag has been supported by policy and consensus. If this is your reason for tagging then I'm afraid you should remove the tag and start a discussion about "far right. However, there are 100s of WP:RS that directly call this group far right. Your disagreeing with the RS isn't a reason for the tag. Verbal chat 16:39, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
- LiberalJames. This tag will not work, and is not constructive. There are plenty of other issues that you can take up, and likely win, but this tag is not one of them. The behaviour is disruptive, and you are, if you continue, going to find yourself unable to edit with your new account. Read the welcome tutorial and bring your editing up to the standards that will allow you to continue. Or don´t. I´m not that invested in the article nor your continued ability to edit it. Consider this a friendly heads up.--Die4Dixie (talk) 17:22, 25 October 2009 (UTC)

Other accounts
[edit]Do you have any other wikipedia accounts, either active, inactive, banned or blocked? Verbal chat 16:39, 25 October 2009 (UTC)

[edit]You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on English Defence League. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. Please stop the disruption, otherwise you may be blocked from editing. Pontificalibus (talk) 16:48, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
