Law & Order Cast tables

[edit]

Per the Manual of Style, the Law & Order pages are in the process of having as many unnecessary tables as possible removed from the main page. As such, all cast tables have appropriately been removed from the main articles and merged with the character articles. Please do not undo these changes without discussion. Thank you. Fair use rationale for File:JesseCardoza.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:JesseCardoza.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Melesse (talk) 21:13, 27 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:JesseCardoza.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:JesseCardoza.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 05:31, 28 May 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 05:31, 28 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:JesseCardoza.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:JesseCardoza.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

PLEASE NOTE:

  • I am a bot, and will therefore not be able to answer your questions.
  • I will remove the request for deletion if the file is used in an article once again.
  • If you receive this notice after the image is deleted, and you want to restore the image, click here to file an un-delete request.

Law & Order: LA

[edit]

I have reverted your copy-and-paste moves. These cannot be done, as they screw up the edit history, which is needed to comply with Wikipedia's licensing requirements. There is a proper format for moves that preserves such history. See WP:MOVE for the process, which you should note is already underway for LOLA, rendering your moves unneeded. oknazevad (talk) 16:33, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I actually agree with your edit how you removed EADA section plus any other reccuring characters. Thats fine. The previous editor just removed the EADA section thats all. I want to know your opinion on List of Law & Order characters because their main characters box has a worse problem. Please go check it out... -- MelbourneStar☆ (talk to me) 21:31, 20 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Uploading images

[edit]

Please note, when uploading images, licensing information must be provided, or the image may be deleted. Non-free images, such as File:NCIS Los Angeles Se1.jpg, a non-free use rational must also be provided. I have added both to File:NCIS Los Angeles Se1.jpg so you don't have to. --AussieLegend (talk) 16:31, 8 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:CriminalMindsPromo.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:CriminalMindsPromo.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. License tagging for File:Olivia Benson in Law & Order- Special Victims Unit.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Olivia Benson in Law & Order- Special Victims Unit.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 19:06, 11 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:CriminalMindsPromo.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:CriminalMindsPromo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. ~ Rob13Talk 18:54, 26 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
