Assessment tags

[edit]

Honestly, I'm a bit confused about this myself, I am not an adminstrator, I add WikiProject Latvia assessments because I am project member. I just do what I feel is needed, because Wikipedia acctualy encourages users to do what they feel is needed (see Wikipedia:Be bold), so if you think something needs to be done and you can, then you don't need authority - just do it, if you'll mess up it can be reverted by you or other users and civil people usually will explain why they feel it was wrong. ---- Xil/talk 18:32, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Kawasaki Ki-48.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Kawasaki Ki-48.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 18:08, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

Re:Australian War Memorial images

[edit]

I'm pretty sure that the AWM only sells larger digital copies of all of their images. For wikipedia purposes the small defeault images are generally fine though, as they're only going to be displayed as thumbnailed images. --Nick Dowling (talk) 07:52, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

M11/39 artikkelista

[edit]

Terv, --Kurt Leyman (talk) 06:22, 23 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:PFNew Religion kansi.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:PFNew Religion kansi.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 06:31, 23 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Possibly unfree Image:Voldemars Veiss.jpg

[edit]

An image that you uploaded or altered, Image:Voldemars Veiss.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images because its copyright status is unclear or disputed. If the image's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. You may find more information on the image description page. You are welcome to add comments to its entry at the discussion if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Moonriddengirl (talk) 16:25, 10 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In addition to the above, I have also listed Image:Rumpler 6B-1 751 at Zeebrugge.jpg, Image:AGO C.I.jpg, Image:Avro 503.jpg, Image:Piaggio P108A.jpg and Image:G4M2 ATAIU.jpg. Each of these cases shares the same concern: the original date of publication of the images and the identity of the original photographer is not addressed in the rationale, while the books from which the images are scanned is still in copyright. They are also listed jointed at the "Possibly unfree images" page. Please feel free to add to it at the link above if you can help clarify this matter. Thank you. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 16:54, 10 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

An exciting opportunity to get involved!

[edit]

As a member of the Aviation WikiProject or one of its subprojects, you may be interested in testing your skills in the Aviation Contest! I created this contest, not to pit editor against editor, but to promote article improvement and project participation and camraderie. Hopefully you will agree with its usefulness. Sign up here, read up on the rules here, and discuss the contest here. The first round of the contest may not start until September 1st-unless a large number of editors signup and are ready to compete immediately! Since this contest is just beginning, please give feedback here, or let me know what you think on my talkpage. - Trevor MacInnis contribs 22:59, 22 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
