Help Required
I have recently posted a few topics and ideas that can be covered on the subject of the Severe weather article. It's located at the talk page of the article. I though you may check it out and confirm if any of topics can be covered or not and help write them, since you know a lot about the subject and have contributed to the article itself. Thanks. KnowledgeRequire (talk) 20:29, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

You listed Severe weather for someone to go over for copy editing. I'm going to take a look at it, see if it needs much done. Regards, Alan16 (talk) 23:19, 7 August 2009 (UTC).

CSD
Hey. I've removed the A7 you added to this article. A7 is "[a]n article about a real person..." The article says is about a story/book, which falls through the cracks of what can be tagged with a CSD. I've prodded the article. Thanks, and happy editing. Lәo(βǃʘʘɱ) 21:43, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

Weird stuff in quizbowl
Heya Ks0stm!
Sorry it took a while to get back to you. This may explain the lack creation log ... the username was created by another user rather than from thin air (which I suspect you already figured out). I know it has been a while since I waded hip deep into AfD, but this is one of the stranger ones that I have ever participated in. LonelyBeacon (talk) 01:12, 10 September 2009 (UTC)
- It is a little strange that new editors have been materializing from the aether, but not unheard of in AfD discussions. Therein is the funny part ... there seems to be a cursory knowledge of wikipedia, but it is not in depth enough to win this argument ... a more experienced user ... especially one that might have taken the time to review AfD would should have known this argument was never going to fly ... and the whole mystery editors arising from thin air .... they should have known that wouldn't work either because admins would take that into account .... its like they know a little about how things work, but not a lot. At the worse, they forced the article to get improved a bit now rather than later. LonelyBeacon (talk) 02:56, 10 September 2009 (UTC)

Sockpuppet investigation says that Mensa1960 may be ObjectiveThinker. Since its not definitive, I'm guessing IPs are close but not the same, so they live in proximity? BullofConfusion made a COI report against Mensa, who apparently is the ex-wife of some former quizbowl czar (maybe that is ObjectiveThinker?). Has anyone written a good murder mystery novel about quiz bowl competitions yet? The source material for inspiration is great! --Milowent (talk) 12:29, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

Removal of PROD from Discovery time preschool
Hello Ks0stm, this is an automated message from SDPatrolBot to inform you the PROD template you added to Discovery time preschool has been removed. It was removed by Albertadave with the following edit summary '(Not non-notable: see Talk page, and new content in article)'. Please consider discussing your concerns with Albertadave before pursuing deletion further yourself. If you still think the article should be deleted after communicating with the 'dePRODer,' you may want to send the article to AfD for community discussion. Yesterday I tried to contribute an article on a Texas non-profit organization that advocates against social injustices. It was deleted under G11 code as promotional and/or advertising. I think it is important that the public know about the organization because it is responsible for many changes in the rights of criminal defedants, immigrants, and children. Peregrine International
Hi;
I hope all is well. As you may recall you have pt a notice for speedy deletion on my first article, Peregrine International. As my username suggests, this is my organisation.
I have limited the content to factual and very basic information pertaining to the company. As is mentioned within the site by Wiki's own site staff or administrators, there are articles about other companies, including in the same business sector as my own, for example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aegis_Defence_Services and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erinys_International.
I tried to write my own article along the same vein.
The principal reasoning for the article was to begin an ever developing article to form a basis of reference for those seeking to research Peregrine International and contribute to the industry sector as a whole, whether for employment research or study research in related subject degrees.
If you can point me in a more helpful direction if you still feel I am contravening Wiki policy, it would be most appreciated.
Sincere regards,
Rob —Preceding unsigned comment added by Peregrine308 (talk • contribs) 17:58, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

- Thank you for having an interest in contributing, it just sometimes isn't a good idea to edit articles people might perceive you have a conflict of interest in. You may want to read over this guide to get a better idea of editing articles where other editors may assume you have a conflict of interest. I also suggest giving a look at WP:BFAQ, as it details some frequently asked questions on editing articles about businesses or organizations you are affiliated with. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Ks0stm (T) 21:53, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

NOAA FSC
The major problem is that it cuts off suddenly and abruptly mid-word. I think it'd need to be the whole broadcast (or, if repeating, at least one that faded out a bit after the second playthough started gracefully) to count as featurable.
You'd want to put it up as a highly notable example of the type as well as just a document of the single incident. Since it's clearly an automated message, I don't think you could get a large number of these featured, but representative samples, with you explaining they are such, sure.
Hope this helps! Shoemaker's Holiday Over 213 FCs served 23:27, 22 October 2009 (UTC)

Sulfur dioxide edits
Hi Ks0stm, I'd like you to reconsider whether the ferox reference should be included in the Sulfur dioxide article. As far as I understand it, hydrodesulfurization is the major method of reducing vehicle sulfur emissions, with the use of third-party "fuel pills" to modify engine characteristics being a rather contentious issue, prone to untested claims as seen in the Australian Firepower case. Moreover, it seems that the link was included by a single-issue IP editor, whose other two non-ferox edits were also reverted as being unhelpful: [1], [2]. What do you think?
Temp20091203 (talk) 16:18, 4 December 2009 (UTC)
- I reworded it and put in a reference, and removed the mention of ferox. Ks0stm (T) 16:36, 4 December 2009 (UTC)

You asked for feedback here Unfortunately, it fell through the cracks. Not sure what happened, but I'm not finding the article now. Is this still an open issue in your mind?--SPhilbrickT 17:59, 4 December 2009 (UTC)
- Hmm...I moved it into the mainspace, and it should be found at Mesovortices. I was looking for feedback as to how I could improve the article (other than adding more references). I got some input back from WikiProject Severe Weather & WikiProject Meteorology, but you can take a look over the article if you want; the more input, the better. Thanks, Ks0stm (T) 18:37, 4 December 2009 (UTC)

Page protection
I'm not very good with code (ate a few cookies on my way down though), and didn't understand the page you directed me to. Can you do a protection of 'Festivus' for a couple of days? Appreciated Randy Kryn (talk) 16:15, 23 December 2009 (UTC)

One More Day!
I read about the adoption program. I won't try to introduce new users until I have enough expertise. Anyway, tomorrow's Christmas! and where did you get and manage the online/offline thing at the top of your user? Micro 101 (talk) 13:24, 24 December 2009 (UTC)Micro 101
Merry Christmas!
I hope that this Christmas season is one of celebration and rest for you and your family. fetchcomms☛ 22:37, 25 December 2009 (UTC)
Online/Offline
I hate to break it to you, but I think the status box at the top or the user and talk page is stuck on online. Speaking of that, where did you get it? Have a happy new year! --Micro101 13:29, 27 December 2009 (UTC)

RfA Thanks
Dear Ks0stm, here is a little note to say thank you for your kind vote on my request for adminship which failed with a final result of (40/19/12).
Thank you for your participation in my RfA which I withdrew after concerns of my knowledge of policy. Special thanks are owed to Coffee, who defended me throughout and whom I cannot thank enough for the nomination; to 2over0 for being supportive and helpful; to A Stop at Willoughby for the thorough, thoughtful and articulate support rationale; to IP69.226.103.13 for maintaining composure and for a pleasant interaction on my talk page and, last but not least, to Juliancolton who was good enough to close the RfA at my request and, frankly, because an editor whom I respect so much found the time to support me! If the need for more admins at the main page is still apparent in a few months, I may try again. Thank you all for a relatively drama-free RfA and for providing me with much material from which to learn from my mistakes. You're all welcome to drop by my talk page any time. God save the Queen Wiki! HJMitchell You rang? 18:01, 29 December 2009 (UTC)

I posted a response to the entire post. It is rather long, so if you have a short attention span, please do not turn off the computer before you are done reading. If you are a slow reader, take breaks or read it the next day (but don't read one half today and the other half the next day due to the risk for insomnia). It also contains a small part of the big picture (all at once), and that might be mind-blowing for some people.
WARNING: Contents might cause headaches...and other symptoms, similar to that of 0.999.... Also slightly out of the box, and if informing any users people in real life, please break it down into layman's terms. Wikipedian's discretion is advised.
Also, just in case the page is vandalised, please keep it on your watchlist. Thanks.
