You are mistaken
[edit]The Lmz00 is playing the edit war and vandalism card. I do not vandalize articles! I check articles and follow the rules of Wikipedia. Check my work, I have not ever put any vandalism on any page. I refuse to speak to that user so therefore, he'll go on intervene for administrators to report me when he can't get his way. So if you are to impose I vandalize pages, you are wrong. But anyways ask the user to prove to the Wikipedia people that this is true. He getting his information from a fansite not a reliable source. Thanks

[edit]You're right. You did break the 3RR. Refer it to an Administrator next time so you don't risk your own backside :) Pursey 17:28, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
- Sit tight, don't edit it any more. You should refer it to an Administrator. I'll let you do it, so that you can also explain that you've breached 3RR. They're likely to be more lenient if you come clean straight up :) Pursey 17:32, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

Your kind message
[edit]Thank you for your kind words. :) I hope I'll be able to serve well the community. This projects means unbelievably lot to me, but acting perfectly in any situations is not easy. I'm trying to learn more and more and be helpful. Have a good work here! :) We have much to do. NCurse work 17:20, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
- Just a question. Sometimes I feel like a sales manager. :) Do you want to use VandalProof2? It is a wondertool against vandals. You can revert and warn vandals with one click. (50 reverts take about 10 minutes.) NCurse work 17:26, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
- You can wait for VP1 forever, because it doesn't work. :) VP2 is the recent one. And you don't have to wait in that list, you can request help on installation (which takes about 5 minutes) in IRC : #vandalproof, they will help you immediately. Yes, it makes things much easier. Anyway, if you want to have fun by removing vandals, try it. :) NCurse work 17:34, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

Shiny New barnstar!
[edit]You are welcome for the barnstar! I would like some help with VP2 but I can't do it at work. I will have to get it when I get home! Thanks for the offer! Keep up the great vandalism fighting! Chris Kreider - HFF 14:36, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
Umm...
[edit]What I removed from the Exorcism article was largely POV, extremely badly formatted and from what I can tell unsalvageable.

Okay, thanks!

Thank you
[edit]Thanks for my barnstar! It is much appreciated. And hey, VP2's a great tool! I'd spend some time on it if my only working Windows computer wasn't messed up to the point of no networkability. Maybe I'll even work on it and run into you on VP2 later. Either way, take care, and let me know whenever you need vandal-related help. -- Omicronpersei8 (talk) 05:04, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
Muchas gracias

- Yeah, this new admin rollback is pretty fast. ;-) —Khoikhoi 05:24, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
reason for edit reversal?
[edit]Hello. I'm sorry if I made a mistake when editing the adult swim article; however I don't see where is the error. Could you tell me the reason to revert this edit? Thanks in advance! By the way, I'm a registered user, but I haven't logged in yet. Since my IP can change, i'll better use my account (so you can answer me). --164.77.84.202 05:14, 21 October 2006 (UTC) Guruclef
No need to apologize
[edit](sorry to spam your talk page, but I still don't understand very much how communication between users works..) There's no need to apologize for reverting my edit; on the contrary I must thank you for taking the time to patrol so many articles, and helping wikipedia to be such a nice place to visit. --Guruclef 05:27, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
vp2
[edit]You mentioned something about getting me set up with VP 2, what do I gotta do to get that? Thanks in advance for any help with it! Chris Kreider - HFF 21:14, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
- I dont have anything to connect to IRC, i will look for Mirc or whatever the program is and download it. What do I need to connect to? 04:55, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
There is quite a valid reason I changed David Platt's Coronation Street page - the information was completely incorrect! I have been watching the January, February, March episodes and it was Phil the podiatrist, not "Sun Hill dectective Ted Roach" - that's a character from The Bill! It is very clearly the character of Phil Nail. I have to change it back for the sake of anyone who wants it to be reasonably correct.

American Family Association
[edit]Hmm, I must've made the edit without realizing that I wasn't logged in.
Silly me!
I added the link to list of purported hate groups since I noticed that the AFA was added in that list. I thought it would only be appropriate to do so.
Whether or not it should be on that list is debatable, but I've been on and off researching any means to connect the actions of the AFA to that of more extreme hate groups.
If they are a hate group, they don't advocate violence towards anyone, however they do seem to advocate intolerance (which is hate) towards homosexuals and on a much lesser extent towards non-Christians.
Nevertheless, they have alot in common with the Traditional Values Coalition and Family Research Institute.
The only difference seems to be that their goals are relatively reachable. In some respects, that makes them even more dangerous since they don't openly advocate criminal persecution of homosexuals, but rather seem to be strongly opposed to any law that would protect GLBT individuals from hatred in the workplace, in public, and in private life. It would be nearly impossible to criminalize homosexuality in America, especially since laws banning private intimacy of homosexual males were struck down as unconstitutional. However, if it cannot be criminalized, the AFA (and kin) reasons that people should be allowed to harass, assault, even murder people for being gay without being charged with a seperate hate crime on top of the first charge. Their reasoning also extends to strongly opposing any teachings of tolerance of GLBT individuals to children - mainly because if children see through bigotry, they will grow up to oppose the anti-gay agenda. It actually has nothing to do with protecting children.
They also believe that homosexuality is a choice, a stance that has been disproven over and over (I was born a bisexual, btw).
Another thing that comes to mind is how the AFA uses imagery to support their arguments. When they were protesting Kraft for supporting the gay games in Chicago, they posted copyrighted images of a gay stripper who participated in the gay games stripping and doing other sexually suggestive activities. However, they also forgot to edit out the name of the stripper from the images. Upon looking around, I found the website of this guy and e-mailed him to let him know what the AFA was up to. Turns out those images that the AFA claimed were from the Gay Games were actually not from the Gay Games. I'll see if I can find any article, but I believe the AFA took the images down after threats of litigation.
On the other hand...
If they are not to be considered a hate group, then Focus on the Family and Concerned Women for America should be taken off the list of purported hate groups as well. Both those groups share the same ideology and goals of the AFA. The only reason they seem to be on that list is because Southern Poverty Law Center published an article describing the opinions of those groups in an article that basically outlines the hate of the anti-gay crusade.
They don't narrowly obsess about homosexuality, but extend their reach to other issues such as abortion, pornography, and a conservative Christian supremacist mindset. If pro-life, anti-porn, and Christian (not to mention Muslim, Jewish, Hindu etc) supremacist organizations were listed as hate groups, there would be way too many to list, not to mention the obvious fact that such organizations share virtually no characteristics of a hate group.
In the end, what I think really separates a hate group from an organization that just has an agenda, even an anti-gay agenda, is how both groups react to a major change in laws.
When gay marriage is legalized in America, expect Christian churches, Muslim mosques, and Jewish synagogues alike to protest in unison.
Fast forward to 20 years after the legalization of gay marriage, let's say it's 2050 now. Assume that there is absolutely no chance that gay marriage will ever be banned, just like right now there is absolutely no chance that slavery, segregation, or inter-racial marriage bans will be reinstated.
A hate group would still try to push for such impossible, near impossible, or extremely remote goals. They would eventually resort to fear mongering, extreme acts of protest, and even violence to promote their cause.
A non-hate group would just try to reach for goals that are still reachable and still within their agenda. IE, they would still protest pornography, and any percieved attacks against their religion. They might even move to oppose polygamy instead of gay marriage - and then it is a whole different ball game.
Yeah, I tried to be neutral...probably failed at that though. I did my best. It's your word over mine, I won't try to counteredit or anything dumb like that so don't worry. The discussion probably ends after your reply, although a friendly debate is always enjoyable. ^_^
I also apologize for not editing it while logged in.
