Siege of the Kraków Castle moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Siege of the Kraków Castle, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. ~~ αvírαm|(tαlk) 09:53, 8 November 2023 (UTC)

Battle of Reval
[edit]Hi, I noticed you've been adding most of the content to the article on the Battle of Reval. I noticed the article uses some rather dated sources for the casualties on the Swedish side. You may wish to update them using these from the Swedish Maritime Museum. They give the Swedish losses as 51 dead, around 80 wounded and 250 captured (and eight dead and 27 wounded on the Russian side). Probably it is more reliable than a German journal from the 19th century. Regards, Yakikaki (talk) 21:32, 21 February 2024 (UTC)
- Hello. Do you only want to replace the dead/wounded? What about prisoners? So many sources give higher figures. I hope you realise that your figures may be incomplete. (Anyway, I have added this data.) Kolya Muratov (talk) 21:54, 21 February 2024 (UTC)
- Hello, thanks for adding it. It is odd that the sources give such different numbers, but some of them are quite old and maybe inaccurate. Anyway, it is good that this is reflected in the article, I think. Kind regards, Yakikaki (talk) 18:52, 22 February 2024 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Pisa. View of the Baptisterium and the Cathedral
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Pisa. View of the Baptisterium and the Cathedral requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://rusmuseumvrm.ru/data/collections/painting/19_20/zh_7973/index.php?lang=en. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Fram (talk) 13:45, 14 May 2024 (UTC)

Wikipedia and copyright
[edit]Hello Kolya Muratov! While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, it's important to understand and adhere to guidelines about using information from sources to prevent copyright and plagiarism issues. Here are the key points:
- Limited quotation: You may only copy or translate a small portion of a source. Any direct quotations must be enclosed in double quotation marks (") and properly cited using an inline citation. More information is available on the non-free content page. To learn how to cite a source, see Help:Referencing for beginners.
- Paraphrasing: Beyond limited quotations, you are required to put all information in your own words. Following the source's wording too closely can lead to copyright issues and is not permitted; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when paraphrasing, you must still cite your sources as appropriate.
- Image use guidelines: In most scenarios, only freely licensed or public domain images may be used and these should be uploaded to our sister project, Wikimedia Commons. In some scenarios, non-freely copyrighted content can be used if they meet all ten of our non-free content criteria; Wikipedia:Plain and simple non-free content guide may help with determining a file's elegibility.
- Copyrighted material donation: If you hold the copyright to the content you want to copy, or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license the text for publication here. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Copying and translation within Wikipedia: Wikipedia articles can be copied or translated, however they must have proper attribution in accordance with Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. For translation, see Help:Translation § License requirements.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices. Persistent failure to comply may result in being blocked from editing. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 16:53, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
- The only remaining article that may have infringed copyright due to my effect was Battle of Rymnik - I decided to shorten the text and rephrase it. The confusion is that I had no qualms about Longworth's book being non-public (totally available at archive.org). The other texts that I transferred(-lated) (they're all Russian) are either too old, from the Russian Empire, to which era I mostly contribute lil by lil, or from GRE.
