God of War: Ascension demo
[edit]The information on the God of War: Ascension E3 2012 demo included in the Total Recall: Director's Cut Blu-ray Disc release was already added in the Marketing section of the article. Just to let you know. Hounder4 (Talk) 15:43, 14 October 2012 (UTC)
Hello, KingJFS, and thank you for your contributions!
I wanted to let you know it seems an article you worked on, All City High, is copied from another Wikipedia page, John Marshall High School (New York). It's fine to do this as long as you provide the following information in the edit summary:
- a link to the article you copied from
- the date you copied it
You can do this now by editing the page, making any minor edit to the article, and adding the above information into the edit summary.
If you're still not sure how to fix the problem, please leave a message at the help desk. It's possible that I made a mistake, so feel free to remove the tag I placed on the article.
Thanks again for helping build the free encyclopedia! MadmanBot (talk) 12:49, 16 January 2013 (UTC)
Copy-paste move
[edit]Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give John Marshall High School (New York) a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into All City High. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you.
