Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page List of schools in Malacca has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. I removed the following link(s): http://www.facebook.com/pages/SJKC-Khiak-Yew-Melaka/142677865752621?v=app_2374336051.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page SJKC Khiak Yew do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia.

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did in this edit to SJKC Khiak Yew. Inappropriate links include links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that serve as advertising or promotion. Thank you.   — Jeff G.  ツ 02:35, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you.   — Jeff G.  ツ 02:49, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to SJKC Khiak Yew. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it.

The article SJKC Khiak Yew has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable primary school.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Christopher Connor (talk) 03:12, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please see note on article's talk page

[edit]

It is unlikely that this article can survive the deletion process. Primary schools do not have an exception to the general notability guidelines, which require that any article must be Notable; this is shown with significant coverage in reliable sources. Primary schools almost never meet this guideline, as it is quite unusual for a primary school to have been covered in the media. If you believe that this school is notable, please provide information and sources that establish this. The link you provided establishes that the school exists, but not that it is notable. Please ask if you have any questions. Qwyrxian (talk) 03:20, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to SJKC Khiak Yew. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia.

I have nominated SJKC Khiak Yew, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/SJKC Khiak Yew. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. ... discospinster talk 03:27, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Khiakyew1 talkback: "I have included a newspaper coverage for this school. Is it suitable, discospinster?"

I don't know what the newspaper article says. Schools are generally covered in local newspapers so that doesn't necessarily make them notable. The best place to argue for notability now would be the deletion discussion page at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/SJKC Khiak Yew. ... discospinster talk 04:03, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
What does the newspaper article say? Is it related to what's on the WP page? Is it only about the school, or is the school mentioned just in passing? Does it show that the school is notable, or just that it exists? While non-English sources are acceptable (although English ones are preferred), we can't base a decision about notability solely on a single non-English newspaper article. Heck, even a single English article is usually not enough to establish notability. Have you had a look at WP:GNG? Notice the explanation there about what Notable means with regards to Wikipedia. Do you believe this school meets that definition? If so, how? Qwyrxian (talk) 04:01, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove AfD tags

[edit]

While the previous tags we were using (called "prod" tags) can be removed, the Articles for Deletion note cannot be removed by anyone. That tag provides a link to a discussion at another page, where the community will decide if this article is notable enough to be kept. You are more than welcome to join that discussion, and, in fact, we would like you to do so. Please note, though, that removing an AfD tag is considered a kind of vandalism, so you will need to stop doing that. If you don't, eventually your editing privileges will be temporarily blocked. Instead, please come to the AfD discussion so that we can sort out whether or not this school is notable. Qwyrxian (talk) 03:49, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
