[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Daniel Quinlan. I noticed that you recently made an edit to Chess960 in which your edit summary did not appear to describe the change you made. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Daniel Quinlan (talk) 19:03, 7 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

oh, I just made my edit summary very similar to the style of yours--I apologize if that is prohibited KevinPaoloZero (talk) 23:05, 7 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You're saying an edit summary of "cleaning up" is very similar to "start cleaning up article after the page move, move some lead citations into body", especially after the page move had been discussed on the talk page and an uninvolved user had done the page move? Daniel Quinlan (talk) 23:56, 7 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Daniel Quinlan I mean, the point why I omitted the latter part of the first sentence is that everyone already knows that the edit is AFTER the page move
it was supposed to be a continuation of the purpose of yours in that regard KevinPaoloZero (talk) 03:41, 8 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What you are saying here doesn't correspond to your edits. Your edit was based on the 23 November 2024 version of the article rather than the current version, and it removed 11 instances of "Chess960" and added 12 instances of "Fischer Random Chess". It basically undid the changes associated with the page move as well as the other improvements such as moving citations from the lead into the body. Daniel Quinlan (talk) 04:02, 8 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Daniel Quinlan in my most recent edit I made sure the mentions of both names in your version of the article were intact
me removing the instances and adding others was a mistake that I later fixed
my most recent edit also preserves your improvements like moving lead citations into body
I accounted for nearly everything in my most recent edit, hell, I wanted to add a part of yours before but I was worried on if it would be valid or not
you're saying all of this like I want my first edit of the page here to be the page, which is wrong KevinPaoloZero (talk) 04:11, 8 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi KevinPaoloZero! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Thank you. Daniel Quinlan (talk) 21:17, 7 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
