If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Henry Blunt (chemist) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page The Square (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Friendly lambasting

[edit]

Hello KateMuse. I wanted to welcome you to Wikipedia, and lambaste some of your initial efforts to put you on the "fast track" to the straight and narrow path. You may notice that I reviewed your initial creation of this article and sadly had to see it deleted because of the copyright violations that it contained. Seeing it recreated drew my obligatory attention to ensure you hadn't attempted any tomfoolery. I was happy to see that you published this version using prose of your own design. Please do not ever plagiarize anything that you publish in Wikipedia as it is certain to expedite unpleasant consequences.

I was taken aback at realizing that you uploaded File:Henry Blunt.jpg and File:Pride Hill.jpg as your "own work". You must provide the source where these images were published when you copied the digital information used to upload the file, and its use must conform to an appropriate license. This is as consequential as plagiarizing text and as certain to shorten the editing life of a Wikipedia contributor. I've taken this time to stress the importance of this issue because I believe your intentions are good and I want you to enjoy your experiences editing this encyclopedia. You are welcome to ask me for assistance on my talk page anytime you are unsure about any edit you are trying to make and I will help you find the answer.

The last thing I want you to familiarize yourself with is our policy on editing when it is possible that you may have a conflict of interest. Based on the declarations you made on your user page, it is clear that such a potential exist with your desire to publish the plethora of information affiliated with Shropshire Museums, your employer. Admitting that you "started editing on behalf of the service" is tantamount to acknowledging a conflict exists and an explicit invitation for extra scrutiny. Now that you've succeeded in gaining my attention, use it to better yourself as an editor so you can accomplish your implicit goal of including the worthwhile information that is placed in your care. Consider me an ally of this goal. Remain cognizant however, that the only path to success is the path where things are properly done. So, how about we get back to editing this encyclopedia? There is much to do. Cheers, and happy editing. My76Strat (talk) 04:07, 7 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
