Speedy deletion nomination of Iskcon desire tree
[edit]A tag has been placed on Iskcon desire tree requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Hairhorn (talk) 07:58, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
- I noted the material you left on the talk page associated with the above-captioned article and thought I could explain what was lacking from the article that caused it to be tagged. I don't believe it's anyone's assessment of any relative importance of the article, but simply that that importance was not documented by reference to arm's-length, third-party expert sources so that the information could be verified. These are all crucial elements of any Wikipedia article (you can find out more about them by following the links I've created in this paragraph). You may want to look at WP:Why was my article deleted? for some useful background information. Accounting4Taste:talk 17:39, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
With reference to Iskcon youth services borivali this was deleted as it did not explain or document any claim to notability in the Wikipedia sense, as there was no means of verifying any of the information. Another important problem was that the information was copied from a source not compatible with Wikipedia. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. I also suggest you read the conflict of interest guidelines and the guidelines linked in the section above. Regards, Woody (talk) 19:20, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
