Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas
[edit]Pretty simple. Because we do not stylize the main page's name. Not how Wikipedia works. --Tobi999tomas (talk) 19:01, 7 October 2022 (UTC)

December 2024
[edit]Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at List of 2024 albums. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively, you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant noticeboards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. The article's lead is clear that all entries require a display of basic notability for inclusion. An artist or release having an independent article is a promising sign of notability, so we ask for it as a minimum requirement. If that can't be meant, then the entry can't be included. - @QuietHere Are you dumb???
- I gave an official source, isn't it enough for you????? JpPgn (talk) 11:38, 4 December 2024 (UTC)
- You provided an Instagram post from the band's page. This is regarded as a primary source, and those do not establish notability. As I wrote in my first removal, your entry needed a secondary source, such as coverage by a music magazine or website (RSMUSIC has a long list of these), because secondary sources are independent from the subject and selective about covering only the most important (thus notable) releases. QuietHere (talk | contributions) 11:53, 4 December 2024 (UTC)
- @QuietHere But why do you need a secondary source to begin with???
- A primary source should be enough, especially if it's an official source JpPgn (talk) 12:52, 4 December 2024 (UTC)
- Because it's not just a concern about the accuracy of the information, but of the notability of the release. Untold thousands upon thousands of albums are released every year these days, and we have to have a cutoff somewhere or else we'd be accepting them all and the list would become overloaded. The best cutoff is notability, one of Wikipedia's core tenets, which works the same way across the whole site. If there's significant coverage of a subject, or if it meets some other more topic-specific standard (e.g. these for albums), then it is considered notable and can be included, but otherwise it's best practice to keep the fat trimmed. After all, Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a database. QuietHere (talk | contributions) 13:59, 4 December 2024 (UTC)
