Thank you for your recent contributions. Getting started creating new articles on Wikipedia can be tricky, and you might like to try creating a draft of your article in draftspace or in your userspace first, which you can then ask for feedback on if necessary, with less risk of deletion. Do make sure you also read help available to you, including Your First Article and the Tutorial. You might also like to try the Article Wizard, which has an option to create a draft version. Thank you. Mr. Rasel Hasan (talk) 06:06, 31 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice that the page you created, Template:Free and open-source categories, was tagged as a test page under section G2 of the criteria for speedy deletion and has been or soon may be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other test edits you may want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. – Jonesey95 (talk) 13:32, 27 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thank you for this informative message.
The intend usage of that template wasn't clear so it's rather understandable that it got tagged for speedy deletion. My intent is to standardize every categories related to free and open-source in Wikipedia to use the term “free and open-source” in the category name instead of “free” but I figured it'd be more practical to use edit all category tags to utilize templates just in case the term “free and open-source” get changed again in the future.
By the way, do you know if there's any place where I can discuss a lot of categories to potentially move them? Jothefiredragon (talk) 02:31, 28 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
See Wikipedia:Categories for discussion. – Jonesey95 (talk) 13:22, 28 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved without good reason. They should have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 20:54, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Gamers Nexus

[edit]

Hello, Jothefiredragon,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username FULBERT, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged Gamers Nexus for deletion, because it doesn't appear to contain any encyclopedic content. You may find our guide for writing quality articles to be extremely informative. Also, you may want to consider working on future articles in draft space first, where they cannot be deleted for lacking content.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.

For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|FULBERT}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

FULBERT (talk) 10:06, 31 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@FULBERT: Hello. The article Gamers Nexus currently doesn't have any content at all. However, I originally created the page as a redirect but another user blanked the page without any specific reason. ( https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Gamers_Nexus&oldid=1201223591 ) Which to be honest I didn't know is possible Jo the fire dragon 🐉talk10:14, 31 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
But tbh I don't think this redirect would ever be used so I wouldn't mind if it gets deleted. Jo the fire dragon 🐉talk10:22, 31 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Jothefiredragon Thanks for the update. Did you revert the page blanking perhaps, as pages should not be blanked without a reason provided. FULBERT (talk) 10:27, 31 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@FULBERT: I tried to remove the speedy deletion tag by myself but Wikipedia:Edit filter prevented me from doing so with “The creator of a page may not remove a speedy deletion tag from it.” as the reason. Jo the fire dragon 🐉talk10:44, 31 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Jothefiredragon You may want to contest the deletion via the link with an explanation of what happened, as that will then be seen by an Administrator who can help with this process. FULBERT (talk) 10:54, 31 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
FULBERT, your speedy deletion tagging was improper. It wasn't a blank article per the speedy deletion criterion. You should have restored the redirect rather than tagging for deletion. I have since declined your speedy deletion request and restored the redirect. ~ GB fan 11:23, 31 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@GB fan Thanks for your clarification and fixing this issue. FULBERT (talk) 13:15, 31 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Happy late April Fool's!

[edit]

Ayy bro, just wanna say, happy late April Fool's 2024! Hope you're doing well. Btw, I hope we could resolve our problem on Verbal ASE article, which you can still look up here! Oh, also, I've done my April Fools' plan, but, may not be similar to what I've talk on my userpage (if you read). You can look up the April Fool's today, on Wikipedia! Thank you for kindly reading this message.

Truly yours,

Hi, apologies for the late response, a lot was going on irl.
As for the Verbal ASE article, now I came to think that there's no point in keeping the article as the person is no longer relevant (nor the related memes).
Also it should be mentioned that I'm way more active on Thai Wikipedia than on English Wikipedia.
Best regards, Jothefiredragon🐲talk🐉edits 21:47, 5 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Serifa, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Condensed. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 09:18, 26 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A Windows OS blessing for you!

May your "downtime" always be the relaxing kind.
:(
Jo the Fire Dragon's device ran into a problem and needs to restart in a loop forever

Your insistence on including mention of Microsoft may yet pay off. Thank you for always reiterating your concern civilly, despite the frustration of being ignored repeatedly.

And thank you for responding quickly, during the second move discussion, to my synthesis idea of Windows system outages. (Of course, I'm biased, because you responded positively to my newest suggestion. I wasn't sure you would, since Microsoft and Windows aren't the same concept.)

Jruderman (talk) 03:52, 4 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I eulogize your kind words. Sorry I didn't respond earlier as I was too worried that I might not sound nice to you enough.
As for Talk:2024 CrowdStrike incident/Archive 3#Requested move 30 July 2024; we'll have to wait and see how it turns out.
Cordially,

Notice

The article Thai Linux Working Group has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not notable enough

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Arijit Kisku (talk) 19:16, 24 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Arijit Kisku I'm going to be honest with you. I'm not in a good mood. So please excuse in advance if I come off as rude. But don't you think it'd be better taking the article to a formal AFD? Jothefiredragon🐲talk🐉edits 19:29, 24 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Jothefiredragon don't be RUDE man
I understand that everyone has their off days. I didn’t mean to cause any frustration. My goal is simply to ensure the guidelines are followed, and I’m happy to go through the process if that’s more appropriate.

Quick little note

[edit]

When it comes to WP:NOTFORUM you find in talk pages and whatnot (like this one), it's generally best to remove the NOTFORUM content and give the user a warning on their talk page. I do stuff like this using the Twinkle gadget, which you can find and enable in the "Gadgets" section of your user settings! That's really all I have to say, I was checking recent changes and just wanted to pop by and give you a little bit of advice! Sirocco745 (talk) 03:56, 10 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:Proposed railway stations in Thailand indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. Liz Read! Talk! 22:55, 29 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
