Hello, Jolin254. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Grand National United Party, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Ways to improve Grand National United Party

[edit]

Hi, I'm Domdeparis. Jolin254, thanks for creating Grand National United Party!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. More sources have to be added to prove that this party is notable. Your argument WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS when deprodding is not sufficient

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Domdeparis (talk) 13:27, 9 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

See the WP:FUTURE; This party do not register as party in National Election Commission yet. Thanks. --Garam (talk) 12:03, 17 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

See #1 and above link.

First, "Unified Reform Party" is formless. And "Democratic Peace Party" is not official party as of now. First of all, we don't know whether this tentatively parites will become official parties or not.

Thanks. --Garam (talk) 04:19, 31 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Firstly, I recommend you to write on the discuss if you think it has a problem, rather than simply taking actions. And, if unregistered party can't be articled in English Wikipedia, how come it is articled in Korean Wikipedia? I'm sure that you're also a Korean, too. If you want to take action in English Wikipedia, can you also take actions in Korean, too?--Jolin254 (talk) 10:10, 31 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
First, this article is of English Wikipedia. So, here space is correct. And I don't contribute to Korean Wikipedia for personal reasons any more. Finally see WP:FUTURE. Thanks. --Garam (talk) 13:24, 31 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

And may I ask where did you find English name Grand National United Party? I cannot find any data for this without Korean Wikipedia and Namu. Thanks. --Garam (talk) 16:29, 31 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

연대

[edit]
etc...

I think you do not know about Korean word "연대" well. Then, please do not explain about it to me. I am Korean speaker. --Garam (talk) 19:46, 27 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Garam, thanks for commenting. Firstly, I'm also a Korean speaker. The word 연대 is also used for the cases i.e. 야권연대, which is more suitable to be translated as "opposition alliance/coalition". It's not natural if "opposition solidarity". Also, there was a party named "친박연대", which was translated as "Pro-Park Coalition".

I would also like to tell you regarding the New Alternatives. Firstly, putting "당 (party)" is usually a customary in Korean politics. It's very rare to see political parties without "당" in Korea i.e. National Congress for New Politics, New Politics Alliance for Democracy and Pro-Park Coalition. There are many of notable foreign parties without the word "party (당)", such as Liberal Democrats (not Liberal Democratic Party), The Republicans (not Republican Party) and Social Democrats (Denmark). All these does not include the word "party (당)" but Korean media always put the title. Even in another case, the Christian Democratic Union of Germany is sometimes translated as "기독교민주당". By the way, here are the sources mentioning "New Alternatives".

    • A bill approving the appointment of Chung Sye-kyun as prime minister passed the National Assembly on Jan. 13. Chung received a majority of the anonymously conducted vote, with the support of the Democratic Party, the Bareunmirae Party, the Justice Party, the Party for Democracy and Peace, and the New Alternatives, though not of the New Conservative Party or the Liberty Korea Party (LKP).
    • The ruling party has formed an ad-hoc consultative body with the Justice Party, Bareunmirae, the Party for Democracy and Peace and New Alternatives for the handling of a host of pending bills, as this year's regular session of the National Assembly is slated to end on Tuesday.

The "친박연대" is unusual naming. So, it is appropriate for example.

And this is about Korean party. So, we should follow Korean rule, not European rule. The Korean Times is also mentioning "New Alternative Party" #1. And Korea Herald, too. #2 This is same with name "Bareunmirae Party". So, please see Talk:Bareunmirae Party, and stop your edits. --Garam (talk) 11:00, 28 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I repeat my comment again, putting "당" is customary in Korean society. As another examples, Dawn of Liberty (자유의새벽당) does not have "party" in its English name. Same goes to Truth Korean Democratic Union (진리대한당).

And so far based on your comment, if you want a literal translation, 대안신당 supposed to be "New Party of/for Alternative" or "Alternative New Party". This is not natural.Jolin254 (talk) 12:01, 28 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

And for the examples you have provided were only 2, whereas I provided 4. If any issues, I would like to say please comment on the discussion page before taking actions. Thanks.Jolin254 (talk) 12:08, 28 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • 진보신당: New Progressive Party
  • 대통합민주신당: United New Democratic Party
It is usual naming with "당" in Korean political history. I did not say about literal translation. And I think you did not read Talk:Bareunmirae Party yet, because now you are talking about 2:4. --Garam (talk) 13:23, 28 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at New Alternatives, you may be blocked from editing. --Garam (talk) 10:49, 28 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, please think before you give a warning. I also checked your discussion page and contribution lists and what I have found out is that you provoked various controversies with another users. Other than New Alternatives, you also subject to delete political parties that has not officially formed yet, such as Onward for Future 4.0. I still remember and there are still logs, when I created Bareunmirae Party and Party for Democracy and Peace before its official formation, you just redirected to People's Party (South Korea, 2016). But you didn't even touch the same articles in Korean Wikipedia. If there are articles subjected to be deleted, why didn't you also request deletions in Korean Wikipedia?
One more thing I would like to add, what about Alliance for Brazil? The party has not officially formed yet, but you didn't have any contributions yet. Based on your past contributions, why don't you request a deletion for Alliance for Brazil?
By the way, I have also checked that you had been blocked 10 years ago due to the disruptive editing. Before accusing the other users, can you explain about the incident?Jolin254 (talk) 12:07, 28 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
It seems like both of us are not enough to deal with this issue. I have posted on Talk:New Alternative Party (South Korea), so if there are any other comments please reply and give your opinion at there. Thanks.--Jolin254 (talk) 12:23, 28 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Kim Ha-young has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Doesn't pass WP:GNG. References are only to social media and IMDB and scarce references.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Why is the article proposed deletion? She is actually a well-known actress and comedian among South Korean society, so no actual reason the article should be removed.--Jolin254 (talk) 12:09, 12 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Arena Williams

[edit]

On 25 November 2020, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Arena Williams, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that 42 new MPs were elected to the 53rd New Zealand Parliament: 23 for Labour, including Arena Williams, Ibrahim Omer, Helen White, Neru Leavasa, Ingrid Leary, Rachel Brooking, Anna Lorck, Tracey McLellan, and Shanan Halbert (all pictured); 5 for National, including Joseph Mooney, Simon Watts, and Penny Simmonds; 9 for ACT, including Toni Severin, Simon Court, Brooke van Velden, and Chris Baillie; 3 for the Greens, including Ricardo Menéndez March and Teanau Tuiono; and 2 for Māori, including Rawiri Waititi? You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Arena Williams), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. 🔥YesI'mOnFire🔥(ContainThisEmber?) 10:32, 1 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
