Select Survey Invite
[edit]I'm working on a study of political motivations and how they affect editing. I'd like to ask you to take a survey. The survey should take no more than 1-2 minutes. Your survey responses will be kept private. Our project is documented at https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Research:Wikipedia_%2B_Politics.
Your survey Link: https://uchicago.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_9S3JByWf57fXEkR?Q_DL=56np5HpEZWkMlr7_9S3JByWf57fXEkR_MLRP_6m7ZhRPFZiPkDsN&Q_CHL=gl
I am asking you to participate in this study because you are a frequent editor of pages on Wikipedia that are of political interest. We would like to learn about your experiences in dealing with editors of different political orientations.
Sincere thanks for your help! Porteclefs (talk) 12:46, 20 April 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Larry Craig, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Republican (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

[edit]Hello Johnsagent. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, such as the edit you made to List of American state and local politicians convicted of crimes, and that you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to Black hat SEO.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Johnsagent. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Johnsagent|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, please do not edit further until you answer this message. John from Idegon (talk) 18:24, 24 September 2018 (UTC)
- Huh? I am not being compensated for my edits. Better yet, you prove to me that you are not being compensated for your edits. Johnsagent (talk) 06:02, 30 September 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits, such as your recent edits to Jeff Hoover, as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. – wallyfromdilbert (talk) 13:45, 19 December 2019 (UTC)

[edit] Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from 2017–18 United States political sexual scandals into another page. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution
. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. Moneytrees🏝️Talk🌴Help out at CCI! 16:22, 3 September 2020 (UTC)

[edit]This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have shown interest in post-1992 politics of the United States and closely related people. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.
For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

[edit]Thank you for your contributions. It seems that you may have added public domain content to one or more Wikipedia articles, such as Three Percenters. You are welcome to import appropriate public domain content to articles, but in order to meet the Wikipedia guideline on plagiarism, such content must be fully attributed. This requires not only acknowledging the source, but acknowledging that the source is copied. There are several methods to do this described at Wikipedia:Plagiarism#Public-domain sources, including the usage of an attribution template. Please make sure that any public domain content you have already imported is fully attributed. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 13:08, 7 September 2022 (UTC)

- Milwaukee? I've called Milwaukee? My god that takes me back. I/we were hired to add color to King Richards Fair, which was brand new at the time. They paid us with a pig, says Gregorin, sole survivor of the Antwerp massacre. I used to be a pretty good bowman. I think. It was a long time ago and like they say, if you can remember it... I do remember being a big hit at the feasts because I thought to bring actual bread, sliced. We knew they hadn't invented sliced bread yet, but they should have!
- How am I in these Current Middle Ages? Stayin alive and trying to get by. My daughter dug out my old Rocket Cottage by Steeleye Span album. Damn those were good times. Johnsagent (talk) 06:41, 10 May 2023 (UTC)

Local and state politicians convicted of crimes
[edit]Hi,
I was looking at the List of 2020s American state and local politicians convicted of crimes article and noticed that you were including people who were not elected politicians as they were either people who worked for an elected official or were someone who had stood for office and been unsuccessful. Please can your remove these editions which are not correct:
- Ben Paris in Florida = not a felony crime
- Marion Michael O'Steen in Florida = not an elected politician
- Brian Pritchard in Georgia = not an elected politician
- Ryan Kelly in Michigan = not an elected politician
- Tim Mckenrick = not an elected politician
- Solomon Pena in New Mexico = not an elected politician
- James Schwartz in Ohio = not an elected politician
- Larry Householder in Ohio = you added his name but he was already included
- Jeffrey Longstreth = not an elected politician
- Joel Koskan in South Dakota = not an elected politician
- Kimberly Zapata in Wisconsin = not an elected politician
- Charles Curley in Wyoming = not an elected politician
Also I saw that you were adding names and not following the correct layout. It should State Representative Jane Doe (R) but you have been putting Jane Doe (R) State Representative, but that isn't correct and doesn't match the current layout so please can you change that.
I also noticed that you were removing the political party ID from certain individuals even though their wikipedia article tells you which party they represented or it tells you on google. Can you also re add all of the (D) and (R) that you removed.
