Relation between the Pan-African Parliament/Gauteng exco and Johannesburg
The rationale behind adding Template:Greater Johannesburg to the articles Pan-African Parliament and Executive Council of Gauteng is that both structures are based in Johannesburg. Although seeing as though the article on the Parliament of South Africa doesn't include Template:Cape Town (which I based that template on), I will be respecting your revert, and won't add it back to those pages. ENEvery (talk) 08:06, 9 January 2023 (UTC)
- Basically just feel the need to let you know what my reasoning was. ENEvery (talk) 08:07, 9 January 2023 (UTC)
- I see what you mean and don't feel strongly about my reverts. Good catch on the national Parliament though. I also see that the Cape Town template does appear on the Houses of Parliament article. And similarly Template: Pretoria appears on the Union Buildings article but not on the Government of South Africa article. That fits with my instinct, which is that there's an important difference between the organisation and its seat or headquarters – Cape Town has an especially close association with the physical landmark of the Parliament buildings but that doesn't extend to any special relationship with Parliament itself. I also think WP articles would end up over-templated if, as a rule, every article about an organisation included the navbox of the city where the organisation was headquartered.
- But as I said, this isn't a hill I would die on! Feel free to revert my reverts if you like. The template itself is brilliant! Jlalbion (talk) 12:32, 9 January 2023 (UTC)

- Thanks! His title is in the infobox and there's no other info to add (because it's not a constituency-based system) except what date he was first elected – and unfortunately I can't find any sources that say when he was first elected! Jlalbion (talk) 20:35, 26 January 2023 (UTC)

Hi, Jlalbion. The power will be going off here where I am in less than ten minutes and I am going to be busy this afternoon and evening, so can you please keep an eye on the Thapelo Amad article? He is expected to be elected mayor of Johannesburg today. Voting is currently underway. Best, Lefcentreright Discuss 09:53, 27 January 2023 (UTC)
- I see you beat me to it! Thanks for updating. Jlalbion (talk) 16:03, 27 January 2023 (UTC)
- I have been meaning to tell you about this for the longest time; I see that you have been creating much-needed articles on the provincial executive councils. Out of past experience, I can tell you that trying to find sources about the compositions of executive councils and subsequent membership changes is really, really hard. Well, someone actually told me a couple of days ago that the national government publishes all of its previous yearbooks on this website. If you want to see how the provincial executive councils looked in say 2001/2002, you just click on that specific yearbook's link and then scroll down to "12. Government systems" where after you clicked on the link, you will find everything related to systems of government in SA in 2001/2002, from the composition of the national cabinet to the compositions of the executive councils. I hope it helps! Lefcentreright Discuss 21:13, 27 January 2023 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Public Finance Management Act, 2000
A tag has been placed on Public Finance Management Act, 2000, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It is a recently created redirect from an implausible typo or misnomer. (See section R3 of the criteria for speedy deletion.)
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
