A note from the Admin Coaching coordinator

Hello, coaches. As you can see, there is a significant backlog at the Esperanza Admin Coaching program. Since we do not want users to have to wait forever to get assigned, I'm asking all of you for a status report. If you feel that you are done, that your coachee is not active enough, or that you could handle the extra load from another coachee, please tell me in my talk page as soon as possible. Thanks! Saison Dupont

Why is everyone so worked up over deleting articles? The Saison Dupont, should have been edited or perhaps retitled "Brasserie Dupont" but deleted? I dont get it. Mind boggling. Naerhu 07:44, 7 March 2006 (UTC)

Esperanza Newsletter, Issue #1

Reach out Reach out is a program aimed at allowing users to bring issues that they have had in Wikipedia to a listening, sympathetic and caring audience: "No one can know how we feel if we do not say. We cannot expect to get understanding if we do not ask for it. No one will dispute that sometimes life's issues are too much for one person. It is fair to say that sometimes Wikipedia's problems fall under the same heading. This is a place where you can bring the bruises that can sometimes be got on this project for attention." Stress Alerts The Stress alerts program aims at identifying users who are stressed, alerting the community of thier stress and works in tandem with the Stressbusters at trying to identify causes of stress and eliminating them. Note from the editor Welcome to this new format of the Esperanza Newsletter, which came about during the last Advisory Council meeting - we hope you like it! The major changes are that each month, right after the Council meeting, this will be sent out and will include two featured programs and a sum up of the meeting. Also, it will be signed by all of the Advisory Council members, not just Celestianpower. Have an Esperanzial end of March, everyone!

The last AC meeting (full log) Future meetings are to be held monthly, not fortnightly as before. Bans and Access level changes (apart from autovoice) in the IRC channel are to be reported at the new log. In the IRC channel, there is going to be only one bot at a time. The charter requires members to have 150 edits and 2 weeks editing. Why this is the case will be clarified. A new Code of Conduct will be drafted by JoanneB and proposed to the Esperanza community. The NPA reform idea is to be dropped officially. Charter ammendments are to be discussed in future, not voted on. The Advisory Council is not going to be proposed to be expanded by the Advisory Council themselves, if others want to propose it, they will listen. Signed... Hi Jaxl, I'm your new coachee. I've added you onto my MSN contact list, if you wonder who that is who has just added you. I've been on Wikipedia for about 7/8 months, but only had a registered accound since January '06. I've done a fair bit of Vandalism reverts and warnings, done a bit of Welcomming new users, contributtin to articles, I've started one or two articles, and got AWB yesterday. I would like to become an admin, but at the present time think that I would get a lot of negative votes due to my low edit count (roughly 600 can never tell with the time lag on Kate and Interiots' tools), and my short time as a registered user. I'd be interested in any help you could give me to become not only an admin but just generally a better Wikipedian. --Wisden17 11:04, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

Hi Robert, thanks for your quick reply. I've tried to get invovled on Wikipedia in as many ways as possible. I've just, about, finished my first Mediation case, which has been fun. So hopefully will be on the Mediation Committee in the not too distant future. Drini has set up an admin coaching page! So if we try and conduct all the admin coaching on that page and it's talk page, it'll probably be the easiest. Barnstar Brigade The Barnstar Brigade is a new program aimed at giving more very deserving yet unappreciated users barnstars. It will officially start on 2006-04-09, but signing up is encouraged before this date: "Here in Wikipedia, there are hundreds of wikipedians whose work and efforts go un-appreciated. One occasionally comes across editors who have thousands of good edits, but because they may not get around as much as others, their contributions and hard work often go un-noticed. Sadly, these editors often leave the project. As Esperanzians, we can help to make people feel appreciated, be it by some kind words or the awarding of a Barnstar. A project the size of Wikipedia has thousands of editors, so there are plenty of people out there who deserve recognition, one just has to find them. The object of this program is not to flood editors with Barnstars, but to seek out people who deserve them, and make them feel appreciated." Other councillor articles

Hi there. I see you closes the John Goodfellow AfD and deleted the article. There are many other almost identical councillor articles for the same council (North Tyneside Council). The creator of the articles understands that councillors don't meet WP:BIO and has unlinked them from the council article, but the stubs still exist - they are linked to from this diff.

Should I flag these one by one as speedies, or would you or another admin be able to speedy them all straight off? They make no assertion of notability (given that being a local counillor doesn't count). Thanks. —Whouk (talk) 15:42, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
