Linking 2 titles to the same page
hi i see your very experienced in wikipedia
i was just wondering how to link 2 different titles to the same page, like i created the Down-The-Line page and would like to link DTL to it aswell.
this would also help me with creating pages for the UCPSA CPSA ICPSA WCTSA SCTA with there respective full titles linked to these pages also —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Weeman com (talk • contribs) 20:36, 10 April 2007 (UTC).
- See Wikipedia:Redirect for a guide on how to do this. (DTL already redirects to Diode-transistor logic, but I added a note there about the alternative meaning.) The preferred way is to keep the article at the full title, and leave a redirect at the abbreviated title. Also, thanks for contributing to the articles on shooting sports! -- Jao 11:04, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
photograph liscencing
hi also ive uploaded 3 images to wiki and its a hell of a confusing task to get the right liscence for them
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Shoot_off_for_England_High_Gun.jpg this image was put up on a website for the use of anyone who wishes to use it
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Dtllayout.jpg i found this on the internet, no copyright was apparent, and this is general knowledge within the shooting community.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Sharon_Ebbrell_and_Phil_Morgan.jpg i got sent this photograph by the owner for use as how i want
and also what copyright do i select for photographs in which i have taken myself

- I'm no expert at image copyright tags, but I would believe that if no clearer license statement has been given, the tag you used for the first image is fine, and you could use the same one for the third image as well. As for the second one, I'm afraid we can't use it. The fact that the idea it presents is common knowledge doesn't mean that the image itself is uncopyrightable. It should be easy enough to create another image presenting the same idea, though (preferrably in the SVG format). I might come around to that. And for your own images you can use Template:PD-user (see its talk page for instructions on how to use it). -- Jao 11:31, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

Napoleon I's name
Good evening. I saw on your User Page that you're interrested in royalty and nobility. What do you think about that? Švitrigaila 21:01, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh
In response to a revert of the article
- Ok, but then according to the discussion at Talk:Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh#The Prince (which doesn't really look like a consensus) the opening should be "His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh". CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 10:22, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

Li Jie
In reply to a question at Doma-w's talk page
- Ups! You are absolutely right! I was not careful enough! I will change this immediately. Many thanks for crosschecking! You are very welcomed to check my nonsens again. Kind regard :) Doma-w 10:03, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
- I fixed them. Please see: Li Jie (sport shooter) and Li Jie (running target shooter). Please see also, that the running target shooter is not running target shooter born 1981 - the competitor for 2004 is born in 1973 (see the link in the article). Once again thanks and kind regards :) Doma-w 10:28, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
- Great, and thanks for solving the RT mystery. I moved Li Jie (sport shooter) to Li Jie (rifle shooter) to disambiguate properly, though. -- Jao 10:32, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
- Looks good! Thanks Doma-w 11:46, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
Fundraiser 2007 - please help during the preparation
Hi, well, I noted that messages in the village pump apparently are not really read. There are some tasks where we need the help of the community for the preparation of the fundraiser 2007 and therefore I now decided to ask single people directly. There is at least one thing where anybody can help and this is with a photo for the Flickr group. If you feel like adding something written why you love wikipedia or about which other project you love or whatever you feel matches, it would be great, but also the photo itself would be great, since it would show how the community is able to work together. Of course you do not need to put your name under the photo. If you don't want to upload it yourself on flickr you can also send it to me: scretella (at) wikimedia (dot) org. Besides that we are searching for people who can help to create buttons that link to the fundraiser to be used on peoples blogs and websites. Please find further information and examples of buttons on meta. You can see an example of how a button is integrated in a blog on my blog. Thank you for your attention and cooperation! -- 16 September 2007 Sabine —Preceding unsigned comment added by SabineCretella (talk • contribs) 13:56, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
RFP targets.png to Commons?
Hello, could you upload your Image:RFP targets.png to WP Commons? My plan (long term?) is to translate all the ISSF Shooting events articles to Norwegian. I have started with the RFP-article and would like to use your nice image to illustrate how the targets look. Thanks in advance. rgds, Apple farmer 19:57, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
- It's up on Commons now! Cheers, Jao 20:19, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
- Great, thank you! Apple farmer 18:51, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the cool Template:World Chess Championships. I'm normally not a big fan of footers and infoboxes, but this one actually looks useful. Now we've got to get to work writing some more articles on the matches. We don't have a single K v. K article, and nothing at all on any WC matches before 1963 :( Quale 20:06, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, I had the same thought myself. Do you have any suggestions for good sources? -- Jao 12:43, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
