Welcome

[edit]

Welcome! (We can't say that loudly enough!)

Hello, Isthisxephyr, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages you might find helpful:

If you have any questions or problems, no matter what they are, leave me a message on my talk page. Or, please come to the new contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{Help me}} on your user talk page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.

Please sign your name on talk pages and votes by typing four tildes (~~~~); our software automatically converts it to your username and the date. We're so glad you're here! Meatsgains(talk) 01:19, 19 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

How to customize your signature

There is an input field in your user Preferences (in the Signature section, down the page). You can use that to specify a unique nickname to be displayed as your signature instead of your registered account name. This field may also be used to custom design your signature with wiki markup (check the box labeled Treat the above as Wiki markup).

Whenever you sign a post with ~~~ (nickname only), or ~~~~ (includes nickname and timestamp), your new nickname or wiki-markup will be used. Bonus tip #1: ~~~~~ (timestamp only).

Bonus tip #2: To display a nickname, the software adds [[User:Name| to the beginning of the nickname, and ]] to the end. So, by entering something like Klaaus Meieer]] [[User talk:Klaaus Meieer|(talk), you can "trick" the software into adding another link at the end, in this case, to your talk page, which will look like this: Klaaus Meieer (talk).

To add this auto-updating template to your user page, use {{totd}}
[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 7G (album), you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Electronic and Pop. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:39, 13 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't upload copyrighted album covers to Commons

[edit]

Copyrighted album covers are fair use content, and fair use content is not allowed on Wikimedia Commons, so any copyrighted works you upload to Commons will be deleted. It is only a matter of time before they're found and tagged, so it's a waste of time. Please upload album covers to Wikipedia directly. Thank you. Ss112 05:07, 1 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect Buddy Ross credits

[edit]

Thanks for uploading information to the Buddy Ross discography page. I made an edit on Sept 16 that reflected correct information however, you undid my work. All the projects before Frank Ocean Endless album, are Josiah Sherman's work in Christian music, not Buddy Ross's work. Buddy Ross was created as a separate artist name to note his work outside of Christian music. Please delete all work before Frank Ocean Endless and add Josh White and Motopony credits that I've added. Please follow the format of just 1 credits column not 6. Please follow this format for the discography: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Hill_(record_producer). Thank you Mkoter1 (talk) 23:14, 18 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Don't revert users without an explanation

[edit]

Hello. Please do not revert users without explanation. There is no reason tracks personnel participated in should be made small in personnel sections, as this is not considered fine print per MOS:SMALL. It is a misuse of small to do this so please don't restore it or continue the practice. Widespread practice does not mean should be done. Thanks. Ss112 00:52, 16 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
