Hello, I'm Waddie96. I noticed that in this edit to Graham McNeill, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. comrade waddie96 (talk) 16:25, 31 July 2020 (UTC)

Stub tags
Thank you for your recent edit to Ekwulobia , but please take care not to add {{stub}} to an article which already has a specific stub tag, and remember that all stub tags go at the foot of the article, not the top - see WP:ORDER. Thanks. PamD 13:10, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
@PamD: -- Thank you! I'll read up on WP:ORDER. My bad. Imaginestigers (talk) 13:17, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article Odyssey you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. Message delivered by Legobot, on behalf of Whiteguru -- Whiteguru (talk) 08:01, 29 September 2020 (UTC)
- There is a bit of a mess. An editor has been making changes to the article after I started the GA review. I have put in a query on the GA Reviews talk page to see where matters stand. I confess I don't admit to editing after starting a GA review. Just keeping you in the loop. -- Whiteguru (talk) 10:12, 4 October 2020 (UTC)
- Hi there, @Whiteguru:. I really apologise for the delay. Some personal things rose up and became a problem, but I'm paying attention now, and will be able to fix any issues you highlight as we go. Thanks a lot for getting to this! Imaginestigers (talk) 16:25, 5 October 2020 (UTC)
GOCE copyedit request
I've begun my first pass at copyediting the article League of Legends. Please expect a ping on the article's talk page as I will most likely have questions. My process can be found here. —Tenryuu 🐲 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 14:55, 5 October 2020 (UTC)
- Hi there, @Tenryuu:. Thank you very much! Feel free to ping me for anything you need, any questions you may have. Imaginestigers (talk) 16:26, 5 October 2020 (UTC)
- I will definitely have some. On an unrelated note, I decided to run the article through Earwig's Copyvio Detector and it is 90.7% confident that a copyvio has occurred. I don't believe it's something to be concerned about: the sites with highest confidence are either inaccessible or appear to be webcrawlers that may have grabbed a past iteration of the article that the detector picked up. —Tenryuu 🐲 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 16:35, 5 October 2020 (UTC)
- @Tenryuu: The article was in really bad shape when I picked it up, but it’s very unlikely there was any plagiarism. My edits were mostly deleting huge swathes of content, and rewording what was already there. I went through every referenced, replaced many of them with new citations, but generally just gave the page for semblance of order. Thanks for making a note of it, regardless, though. Good to keep things recorded! Had a bit of a fever rush there. Imaginestigers (talk) 16:42, 5 October 2020 (UTC)
- I've looked through the earwig report and I think it's safe enough. Outside of 2-3 direct quotes that are being flagged, it really comes down to 2-3 half-sentences are very closely paraphrased, but I don't think it's enough to worry over. The rest of the hits are very short fragments like "released on whatever date" and "is a multiplayer..". -- ferret (talk) 17:46, 5 October 2020 (UTC)
- Weird, the first time I clicked the report I only saw 15% and below reports. I'm now seeing the 90% that Tenryuu saw. Looking now. -- ferret (talk) 17:49, 5 October 2020 (UTC)
- @Tenryuu: I'm confident the top 5 big hits in Earwig are all mirrors / crawled text of past revisions of the article here. -- ferret (talk) 17:51, 5 October 2020 (UTC)
- Ferret, thanks for double-checking. —Tenryuu 🐲 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 17:54, 5 October 2020 (UTC)

Million Award for Odyssey GA
The Million Award | |
For your contributions to bring Odyssey (estimated annual readership: 1,200,000) to Good Article status, I hereby present you the Million Award. Congratulations on this rare accomplishment, and thanks for all you do for Wikipedia's readers! -- ferret (talk) 01:51, 10 October 2020 (UTC) |
- Thanks, ferret. I didn't even know this existed. This is really cool. Imaginestigers (talk) 02:02, 10 October 2020 (UTC)
Thank you very much!
The Original Barnstar | ||
I am awarding you this barnstar as a recognition for you effort of getting Odyssey to GA status. Our coverage of classical literature is in dire need of improvement, so thank you for bringing the article up to scratch. Keep up the good work! Modussiccandi (talk) 11:48, 12 October 2020 (UTC) |
- @Modussiccandi: I didn't know this existed! I really appreciate it. There is a lot of really good content on Wikipedia about the classics, and so much of it is salvageable with some thorough referencing and reducing (or, better yet, rearranging) contextless lit-cruft. There are also a lot of really engaged editors for the classics. I built upon what was already there, so I can't take all the credit. It was a long-term group effort in the making. I'm grateful for this all the same. After my current projects are done with, I'll be back to tackle some other texts. Imaginestigers (talk) 14:15, 12 October 2020 (UTC)

Please review the comment(s) at your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! Pi.1415926535 (talk) 19:42, 14 October 2020 (UTC)
Odyssey
Wow. I was working on an article that lead me to the Odyssey and was surprised to see it as a GA, so I checked the article history to see that it had been promoted only 5 days ago. Congratulations on that – I must say I am very impressed by the comprehensiveness and attention given to such an important article... any plans for FA? I only ask because I very rarely see people bring high-profile articles to FA (although I've been told this was more common in the past), and this article certainly has a good chance. Aza24 (talk) 02:42, 16 October 2020 (UTC)
- @Aza24: For sure! It's definitely a near-term plan. I'm working on getting League of Legends to GA right now, and then I'll turn my eyes back to the Odyssey. By the end of the month (I hope) I'll have made some concrete plans for what that will look like. Right now, off the top of my head, I need to rewrite Cultural Influence entirely, and I'd really like to get as much more critical material in as I can. Not sure what that will look like yet. Hamlet uses Analysis, so that may be where I'll start. Thanks for the kind words! It was a lot of work, but I loved doing it. Getting it up to FA was always the longer term goal. I notice that you have some experience with composers; if there's any music or composers who have incorporated or been inspired by the text, I'd love to hear about it! Imaginestigers (talk) 03:06, 16 October 2020 (UTC)
- Yes, League of Legends is an ambitious task as well – albeit in a different respect :) It's funny you mention the Cultural influence section, as that was really my only criticism from a quick glance through. Analysis is a good call, although "Legacy" or "Critical opinion" could work too – either way I'm sure the content would be relatively the same. As far as music-inspired works, the only one I can think of is Il ritorno d'Ulisse in patria, and I suspect there are probably not a lot of others. Of course, there are tons of paintings, Turner's is wonderful and I think Waterhouse made a few too. Aza24 (talk) 04:38, 16 October 2020 (UTC)
- @Aza24: If you have any spare time, Cyclops (play) could really use some assistance. I just don't have the time right now. I've outlined some changes for the Odyssey on Talk:Odyssey, if you have any input. As always, I'll be happy to receive your thoughts (maybe even reversions!) as I go. I'll look into Il ritorno d'plisse in patrial. If I can track down enough for it, it might warrant a brief mention (but a section for music doesn't look likely; perhaps Opera, given there's already material there). ImaginesTigers (talk) 16:11, 16 October 2020 (UTC)
- I would take a look at Cyclops but I have too much on my plate right now to start a new article...! It is, of course, part of the lack of attention given to Euripedes, Aeschylus and Sophocles related articles – and too a further extent literature in general on WP (Sophocles barely reaches the GA status it has). This being said, I'll try and leave comments on the Odyssey talk page later today. Aza24 (talk) 22:20, 16 October 2020 (UTC)
- @Aza24: No problem! I've already started implementing some changes to Cultural influence (now simply Influence. These articles all deserve work, but there's only so much time. The Odyssey is a very high traffic article -- I received a Million award for it (my first GA, too), not realising how many people viewed it. I'm glad people are taking an interest in it. ImaginesTigers (talk) 22:27, 16 October 2020 (UTC)
- Hey, I've recently been looking through Oxford bibliographies, and I never realized how fantastic of a resource it is. If you aren't familiar, it's basically what it sounds like, a professionally curated bibliography for various topics. There's a nice one on Homer, with a section on specifically the Odyssey, although I suspect the other sections have resources that include information on the Odyssey. If you can't access it then you should be able to through the Wikipedia library, maybe it'll help, best – Aza24 (talk) 22:30, 8 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Aza24: This is really useful! I'd never thought to look there, honestly, though I did know it exists. Going through another GAN right now, but will get to it soon. Thanks for sending this to me! ImaginesTigers (talk) 12:33, 9 November 2020 (UTC)

Question
Per this diff, do you suspect WP:UPE? Or just a lack of familiarity with notability guidelines? I didn't know this was part of a pattern. AleatoryPonderings (talk) 01:05, 19 October 2020 (UTC)
- @AleatoryPonderings: I think it looks like a string of UPE. I'm going to look into it more tomorrow. Their contributions were, at some stage, fine, but took a rapid shift. What's especially strange that six of the nominations occurred within 2 months, too. A sudden change in the user's priorities, or (total speculation) a career shift, perhaps? I didn't know it was part of a pattern until I saw your AFD. Looks like Praxidicae has tried to approach them about it in the past. Maybe they know more? DYK for Odyssey
On 5 November 2020, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Odyssey, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the Odyssey has been used as a school text since antiquity? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Odyssey. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Odyssey), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Dot Esports
Hi. At Wikipedia:Peer_review/League_of_Legends/archive1#League_of_Legends you write that "although [Dot Esports is] a WP:VG reliable source, it’s really on the threshold." I tend to use Dot Esports when reading about esports; coould you explain to me why it's one the threshold, and do you have any other recommendations? :-) Cheers. —Biscuit-in-Chief :-) (/tɔːk/ – /ˈkɒntɹɪbs/) 17:23, 28 December 2020 (UTC)
- @Biscuit-in-Chief: Hi there, BiC! Firstly, I'm really sorry for the delay; I saw this late at night and then it swept out of my mind the next day. If you're writing articles about esports, then don't worry about it. The reason I'm straying away from Dot Esports is because League is a very, very big game, that has received significant mainstream coverage. If you compare Dot Esports with some of the other referenced publications (the NYT, The Washington Post, so on), then it feels out of place. I use the word
threshold
because it reports on League updates from an overly familiar POV. In effect, it’s part of the "enthusiast press" that video games coverage often suffers from—reporting on things from a close, insider's view. Given that I'm pushing for FAC, where the bar is so high, I want the sources to be unimpeachable, and to cause no issues. - So I've slowly been replacing references to Dot Esports with things from other outlets. If major outlets don't cover them in significant detail, then that tells me that it’s probably too detailed for an encyclopaedic overview of LoL. Does that make sense? I'm afraid I don't have any other suggestions; League is just so big that I can afford to be a bit snobbish with my sources. I acknowledge that isn't the case for many other areas, and all the FA criteria asks that you use the most relevant sources. For League, that means major outlets. For smaller topics, your mileage will necessarily vary. Sorry again for the delay. — ImaginesTigers (talk) 14:35, 31 December 2020 (UTC)
- No need to apologise :-). And thanks for the well-thought-out answer! —Biscuit-in-Chief :-) (/tɔːk/ – /ˈkɒntɹɪbs/) 20:46, 31 December 2020 (UTC)
