3O decline

Please note that I have removed your entry at WP:3O as you mentioned that your dispute is with an IP, but at the Talk page you linked to there's already another non-IP editor discussing the matter with you. Additionally your entry was malformatted and violated protocol by not being phrased in a neutral manner. You are welcome to pursue other forms of dispute resolution. Hello Doniago. Thank you for your prompt response. So sorry about the formatting error regarding neutrality. Please know that I had not discussed the merits of the dispute, rather notified the non-ip address editor that I entered a third opinion request. No discussion has ensued; they have not contacted me regarding the matter at all. So far, you are the only one with whom any discussion as taken place. I was unaware that this was a violation of third opinion rules. I thought beginning at the less formal 3o was a proper beginning to avoiding ongoing dispute, a way of contacting an editor entirely disconnected to the article. My misunderstanding and apologies to everyone. If problems to continue, I will avoid 3o as you suggest and move to an increased formal resolution method. Hi there...3O is for resolving disputes between two editors, but there needs to be discussion between the two editors...if the IP isn't engaging with you, then 3O isn't going to be helpful. But also, if I read the Talk page you linked to correctly, it appeared that there was another non-IP editor involved, which means that between the two of you and the IP editor there would be more than two editors involved in the dispute, which would also eliminate 3O as an option. Hello again Doniago. Your explanation is very helpful, and I appreciate it. I had some fundamental misunderstandings of the 3O process. I'll remove the related section on the talk page of the article and write a note to the IP editor on his/her talk page in how this affects the process.
