Request on 09:19:10, 3 January 2019 for assistance on AfC submission by Akaneczek
Hi,
first of all, thank you for reviewing my draft. Since I'm new at this I thought I'd ask you something before resubmitting. Can I add references in Polish? Would that be enough or do I need English references for my article to be considered suitable for Wikipedia?
Akaneczek (talk) 09:19, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
- @Akaneczek: yes you can add references in whatever language they are found. Please read WP:NCORP and especially WP:ORGIND and WP:CORPDEPTH to understand potential reasons why references may not meet the criteria for establishing notability. HighKing++ 20:42, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
I've just finished editing and added references in Polish that I believe are significant coverage in reliable and independent sources, like nationwide newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza or the largest web portal in Poland Onet.pl. Thank you very much for the advice! Akaneczek (talk) 14:48, 8 January 2019 (UTC)
- @Akaneczek: I've looked at the references you added and they do not meet the criteria for establishing notability. Although you say it is "significant coverage", the articles are either forward-looking and based on information provided by the company (onet.pl) with no indications of independent investigation/opinion/etc or are based on a "review" with significant input from company sources, therefore not intellectually independent and failing WP:ORGIND (most notably the Forbes articles).
