Hi Hiddekel,

I am new to Wikipedia. I was trying to help out someone and her work by posting an entry on her, with her approval of the text and everything. Then over the course of time, people who do not like her came in and edited the bio to be defamatory. The subject contacted me on Friday and asked that I remove the entries from Wikipedia. I tried to blank the pages, but they were restored (and you gave me a warning). I tried to just put in a harmless sentence (because I thought that empty entries were not allowed, I did not know that someone actually physically went in and restored it) "Grace Bonney is a pirate living on the Isle of Man", which was just intended as a place holder until I could read through all the FAQs and instructions on deleting entries and get the process going. I found someone who was able to help me --Scientizzle-- and then this KP Botany jumped in and accused me of vandalizing my own page then crying wolf, and creating extra work, and of defaming the subject of the living bio (with the "pirate" phrase). Someone, thank goodness, has deleted the entries for Grace Bonney and design*sponge, but I really take exception to the behavior and accusations of KP Botany. I find them aggressive, inappropriate, offensive, and downright antisocial. What can be done about this?

That's a good question, and that being the case I'll answer it here as well as on your own talk page.

There are a number of Wikipedia guideline resources available to read that will address your concerns. I suggest first checking out Wikipedia:Etiquette, which will give you a good basic understanding about what sort of behaviour is expected of folks in this online community. A key rule of etiquette in this community is to initially assume good faith on the part of editors. If a user has violated this rule (perhaps inadvertently), a good first step is to make the user aware of this policy, by directing him to the appropriate policy page (the one I just linked to).

If you still have problems with any user, there are escalating levels of resolution eventually (but NOT initially) involving third-party intervention. This process is laid out in Wikipedia:Resolving Disputes.
