Here are some links that you might find informative. WP:NPOV is our core policy that requires that all articles be neutral in content and tone and not, say, in the form of a promotional ad or a vicious attack. WP:MoS is our manual of style which provides guidelines on how articles should look, headers, what should be bolded and what shouldn't, etc. Please have a look at that material before you revert again. Thank you. Gamaliel (talk) 19:59, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
In response to your message on my talk page: Wikipedia is not the place to post official biographies of bands. It is an encyclopedia which contains neutral articles written by people other than the subjects of the article. Subjects of an article are generally discouraged from editing the article about them. Please read Wikipedia:Autobiography. Thank you. Gamaliel (talk) 04:09, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
I attempted to address your concerns regarding incorrect information, but your response of reinserting your preferred version makes it clear that you are not concerned about this supposed incorrect information and only interested in forcing your version into the article. I understand that you wish to promote your band, but Wikipedia is not a forum for band promotion. It is an encyclopedia where people edit neutral and unbiased encyclopedia articles, not a place where the band management gets final approval of the article. You simply cannot just repost your preferred version, especially since it is full of spelling and formatting errors. I can work with you to craft a version that both adheres to Wikipedia policy and satisfies some of your aims, but if you continue to ignore my entreaties regarding Wikipedia policy, we don't really have any choice but to take further steps that may result in the temporary (or eventually permanent) loss of your editing priviliges. For starters, I bring to your attention the three revert rule, which prohibits more that three reverts in 24 hours. This rule is in place to encourage discussion and prohibit editors from doing exactly what you are doing, which is to constantly revert and refuse to discuss. You've been mentioned at the Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard
[edit]You are welcome to join the discussion there. On the other hand, if you keep restoring your own preferred version of the article against Wikipedia policy you will most likely be blocked. EdJohnston (talk) 18:02, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
- I have updated the archived link to the COI noticeboard. I repeat the advice that was given to you before. You are in violation of the COI guideline, and you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Please revert your latest change. If so, you will be able to escape sanctions. EdJohnston (talk) 18:29, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
