Hello, I noticed you edited a Hip Hop related article. If you wish you can join the new Hip Hop Wikiproject. Thanks for your time. Tutmosis 22:49, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In response to your edit summary there, I removed the year links in line with Wikipedia:Manual of Style (links), which advises to only link to years when they are particularly relevant, and I changed the group name to DangerDoom because that's the way it's spelled on The Mouse and the Mask. I thik it was a useful edit, but don't want to get into a revert war over it, so are we ok to revert it back? Flowerparty 20:14, 1 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, you're probably right. I've inserted the space in the middle. Flowerparty 21:16, 1 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Illmatic

[edit]

I put Illmatic up for peer review. And I have adressed the major issue that kept it from being accepted as a FA (the absence of inline references). However I think we can do a little bit more to improve the article before we re-nominate it for FA-status.

  1. Lead doesn't entirely summarize the article, and therefore, it needs to be expanded. See WP:LEAD.
  2. Add sound samples from the albums
  3. The picture of Nas during his promotional video (Image:Nas making illmatic.jpg) was unsourced and therefore removed. If you could find its source (preferably a public domain) then we could still use it. The article could use some pictures indeed.
  4. I've changed the Trivia section into a different proese, since Trivia by definition is unenyclopediec. It is now "Cultural notes", but it seems to be a list of random information (i.e. the info about the album cover doesn't seem the be relevant to the topic). If we could somehow take some of those facts and include them into the article itself, I think we could avoid criticism.
  5. The "Music" section doesn't enter into much discussion of the songs on the album, so it could use some expansion
  6. Article may need a "recording sessions" section

I look forward to helping you improve this article. I think its very close to FA-status. It just needs a little work. Best of luck!!! --Chubdub 14:39, 2 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! Is there any chance you can re-upload the image of Nas in the "Making of Illmatic" video. The Illmatic video is in desperate need of more images. May I suggest that you license it as "Promotional material/Advertisement" this time. Thanks! Chubdub 00:40, 29 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

no problem man. Its all in good heart. Forget about the star. I'd rather you join Hip Hop Wikiproject than give me a star. I would appreciate your contributions to hip hop articles more than a personal award Chubdub 00:28, 2 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
