- Melchior, thank you. It's a lot of work putting together the references and getting to grips with the wiki-format, but I'm pleased with the result. I can already see it being touched up here and there to iron out the style and link it to other pages.Harry W1234 (talk) 04:34, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- No prob! By the way, you may want to submit your new article to Template talk:Did you know. I'm sure it'll make the cut! Melchoir (talk) 04:45, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- I've done that now. I've tried to stress the unique nature of the instrument it's construction in male/female pairs; its historical significance as appearing throughout the history of Colombian music, and being a specifically indigenous element that's fused with European and African influences to make modern Colombian music distinct.Harry W1234 (talk) 07:27, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
Did You Know problem
[edit]Hello! Your submission of Kuisi at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and there still are some issues that may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! Art LaPella (talk) 06:38, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- Significantly reduced now. I wasn't aware of the strict limit on hooks, having just created my first page. Harry W1234 (talk) 07:27, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
Illustrations?
[edit]Personally, I think what the article needs is a few good images to illustrate construction and use, both traditional and modern. There are many images in the source material and online, but I don't want to compromise the article by adding them outside the boundaries of fair use and wiki guidelines. I've tried reading some of those, but there's mountains of material, none of it seems to say which web image may or may not be used, or screencaps from articles. Harry W1234 (talk) 19:00, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- You're right to be cautious; in general most images you'll find on the web can't be used. There's some advice at Wikipedia:Finding images tutorial. Are you in a position to take a photograph yourself? Melchoir (talk) 04:36, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
