Turtle Island (Snowshoe Lake, Ontario) proposed for deletion

[edit]

I have proposed the article Turtle Island (Snowshoe Lake, Ontario) for deletion, as I can find no authoritative toponomic source for the island; see the talk page for the article. If you have any authoritative references that could be added to the article to verify the position of the island, please do so. --papageno (talk) 18:02, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks and an invitation

[edit]

Another very late welcome to you Green slash. And thank you so much for the very nice new bubble snail article, which also has the rather cute and comical image that you took yourself! Well done all round! I wonder if you have a special interest in sea snails? I don't know if you live in Oahu and can maybe take other images of sea snails or were just on vacation there for a short time. But either way, I am giving you this invitation to join WikiProject Gastropods. It's a very informal group but check us out anyway. Best wishes, Invertzoo (talk) 13:54, 16 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wikiproject Gastropods
I've noticed your edits on pages relating to Gastropods; perhaps you'd be interested in joining WikiProject Gastropods?
If you would like more information, please visit the project page or the project talk page.

Thanks for your nice reply. Yes, extinct gastropods are very good too! We are very short of images and articles on fossil gastropods. We can probably also use images of everyday land snails and slugs if you happen to live somewhere where the ground is not frozen and you come across some of these critters. Anyway, all best wishes, Invertzoo (talk) 22:41, 17 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Ogygopsis Klotzi.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Ogygopsis Klotzi.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 09:06, 22 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Magdalena Bay.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only," "non-derivative use" or "used with permission," it has not been shown to comply with the limited standards for the use of non-free content. [1], and it was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19, or is not used in any articles. If you agree with the deletion, there is no need to do anything. If, however, you believe that this image may be retained on Wikipedia under one of the permitted conditions then:

  • state clearly the source of the image. If it has been copied from elsewhere on the web you should provide links to: the image itself, the page which uses it and the page which contains the license conditions.
  • add the relevant copyright tag.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. File:Magdalena Bay.jpg missing description details

[edit]
Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as File:Magdalena Bay.jpg is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors to make better use of the image, and it will be more informative for readers.

If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.

If you have any questions please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Sven Manguard Wha? 01:45, 8 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Flin Flon greenstone belt

[edit]

It's probably a bit too late now, but I just noticed the photo you added in the Flin Flon greenstone belt article. It's nice to see some new photos of volcanic formations in Canada. Are you able to get more photos of the Flin Flon belt? Thanks. Volcanoguy 12:53, 6 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I happen to have a few taken in and around the Flin Flon area, all geology related. Some specific structures, pyroxenite dikes, cross bedding, quartz veining etc (as well as pictures of practically every individual geological unit in the area). If you have any requests I could check out what I have and put them up. King (talk) 15:53, 11 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
