FYI

[edit]

Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made: you may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you. -FASTILY (TALK) 07:07, 22 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

FYI**

[edit]

I did not vandalize anything. I am editing the page the way I remembered it back then. You have no right to warn me.

  • Unfortunately, I do have the right to warn you. Such information in World Youth Day 1995 comes from a verifiable source (the original footage from the TV Station, which I have also viewed) and I do know such information is valid. I can even give the YouTube links to such footage. Rxlxm (talk) 14:11, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion converted to PROD: Deadliest snakes

[edit]

Hello GrayFullbuster. I am just letting you know that I have converted the speedy deletion tag that you placed on Deadliest snakes to a proposed deletion tag, because I do not believe CSD applies to the page in question. Thank you. JohnCD (talk) 12:08, 3 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I was not sure if whether PROD or CSD was better. GrayFullbuster (talk) 12:12, 3 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
WP:CSD#G2 is really only for "Testing" or "Is this how to make an article?" where it's clear the author didn't really mean to make an encyclopedia article. If you are going to do New Page Patrol - which is a very good and useful activity - you should read WP:CSD carefully. Also, there is good advice for speedy taggers from an experienced admin at WP:10CSD and WP:A7M. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 12:22, 3 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Wirth Research

[edit]

I recently tried to edit the Wirth_Research URL on Wikipedia only to be told that you reverted the article. I noticed that the URL redirects to Nick Wirth's biography, something I don't believe to be right since Nick on his own does not constitute a company. Will you please allow the edit of the Wirth Research URL to happen so that it may contain company information? As an associate of the company I know they are keen on this correction taking place. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Westwood3d (talkcontribs) 13:18, 10 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You can edit the article as you wish as it is free to be edited by everyone. However unexplained edits or vandalism are immediately revered. I think you should make a separate article for Wirth Research. I suggest you visit Wikipedia:First article or Wikipedia:Articles for creation, then link your created article (if possible to the Nick Wirth. Thank you. Removed all vandalisms and protect the page temporarily

[edit]

Hi, would you mind to check the Miss World 2011 page ? Another IP address made vandalisms to the page by adding the Top 30, as there is only Top 15 was announced in the final according to the Miss World Official Website. Please for your help, thanks. DeshintaChandra (talk) 18:07, 12 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think that it would be better if the official score tally was returned, like some of the Miss Universe articles which reveal the preliminary scores. GrayFullbuster (talk) 01:08, 13 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Miss Asia Pacific World 2011 spam

[edit]

Hi, could you take a look at the Miss Asia Pacific World 2011 article ? It seems that the long paragraph can be consider as spam, as the person only copy pasted the news to the articles. DeshintaChandra (talk) 14:18, 15 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the note you left on the subject user's talk page, I have already reported them at WP:UAA, as I have found that the company Bank al Etihad is a client of a company called "Tactix Consulting". I am just awaiting admin action on the report. I have also given the user a final warning regarding spam. —KuyaBriBriTalk 15:29, 17 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"Advertising"

[edit]

Are Wikipedia users never allowed to post a link back to a website they are affiliated with, even if it is relevant and helpful? I was not trying to break any rules, or "advertise" in the sense of trying to benefit myself, but was simply trying to link to a very good article which I happened to write -- an article that I would have been really grateful to find when I was trying to learn how to use the HD44780 LCD controller. Many sites link to the article, not by my doing but because a lot of people have found it helpful.

I understand how advertising and spamming is a huge issue on Wikipedia, but it seems like links to quality content should be allowed regardless of who is submitting it.

SM Marketmall Dasmariñas

[edit]

I declined your protection request on SM Marketmall Dasmariñas. It looks like the redirect was the decision of one particular editor, with no discussion of the issue. Note that it was not an admin who made the article into a redirect...but even if it had been, admins have no particular authority over content. If the IPs undo the redirect again, the best solution is to leave it un-redirected, and then take the article to AfD. Qwyrxian (talk) 11:43, 26 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

I noticed that you removed the notable news about newsworthy stories about portable toilets (2009 US inauguration and Best Restrooms in the US 2011) These are globally educational, have been cited by many media sources and should definitely remain on the page.

Also, portable restrooms are another commonly used term regarding portable toilets. I was linking a reference for this term in identical fashion as reference #3, which links to the United Site Services company page. If you're going to remove one reference, you must also remove the other that is in identical context. Also, You the United Site Service external link labeled "Trusted Source for Portable Toilet Rental in the United Sites" goes directly to a company page. If the basis to remove my edit is founded, these other edits must also be removed unless my edits are permitted to stand in the entry.

There are no double standards on Wikipedia I'm sure, and I was only trying to contribute to the knowledge of the entry. I look forward to your reply.

Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by SanitationGuru (talkcontribs) 18:58, 26 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Miss Philippines Earth 2012

[edit]

Hi Gray! I noticed in your recent edit at Miss Philippines Earth 2012 that you changed Mary Denisse Toribio as Miss Philippines Eco Tourism 2011 to Tarhata Clio Shari Rico. If you browsed the 2 official Facebook Account of Miss Philippines Earth, the photos and articles indicate that Mary Denisse Toribio is the newly instated Miss Philippines Eco-Tourism. Although the 2 official MPE accounts ( Miss PhilippinesEarth Official and Miss Philippines Earth 2011 are maintained by Carousel Productions, I cannot cite Facebook in the article because it's not a good source.--Richie Campbell (talk) 03:15, 19 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well, until MPE website shows such, I guess we have to follow official info, FB can't be cited a source as you said. GrayFullbuster (talk) 03:17, 19 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion contested: D.A.V Public School, Velachery

[edit]

Hello GrayFullbuster. I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of D.A.V Public School, Velachery, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: A7 does not apply to schools. Thank you. Στc. 03:11, 29 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I've declined to block him for now - he'd just had two warnings. If there's any more spam from these domains, please report to Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Spam using the templates {{UserSummary}} and {{LinkSummary}}.

With spam, tracking the domain is more important than blocking; spammers just get a new sock account. Blacklisting their domains is much more effective, if potentially draconian (many other web sites and possibly some search engines use our blacklist for their own spam-filtering).

We can always use more help with spam -- if you're interested, I encourage you to check out WikiProject Spam. Investigating complex spam rings can be kind of interesting.

Thanks again for spotting this. --A. B. (talkcontribs) 01:47, 31 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm a finn pageant lover and I KNOW that Miss Finland 2013 will be held in May 5th. It was already earlier noted that May will be the month and on monday it was made public that May 5th is the date.
