You are destroying infoboxes; please seek assistance

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Louisa Lane Drew. When removing text, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the text has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. You did this on more than one article. It's fine to add a free image, but don't destroy other parts of the article in the process. Please place {{helpme}} on your talk page for assistance, and don't change any more infoboxes until you do. Thank you. Ward3001 (talk) 19:37, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Sarah Edith Wynne requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Deletions

[edit]

Hi. Welcome to Wikipedia. Please fill out the Edit summary box at the bottom of every "Edit" screen so that other editors will know why you are making a particular edit. Better yet, leave a message on the article's Discussion page to explain why you are making deletions or other edits.

Fanny Addison

Thanks for your articles like this. In future you need to provide both References and A claim of notability, or they are likely to be deleted. Thanks, Ironholds (talk) 10:31, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Deleting photos

[edit]

Please do not delete public domain photos or other images without explanation. Please put a note on the discussion page describing why you think a photo ought to be deleted. Thanks. -- Ssilvers (talk) 14:38, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Infoboxes

[edit]

Please do not delete infoboxes. In some parts of Wikipedia, there is a broad consensus to include them. Thanks.

May I suggest that, since you are new to Wikipedia, you be cautious about deletions until you have more experience editing articles here. Best regards. -- Ssilvers (talk) 14:43, 20 May 2009 (UTC) for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Proposed deletion of Ada Ward

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Ada Ward, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Non-notable stage actor

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. A tag has been placed on Miss Louise Henderson requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

A tag has been placed on Teresa Furtado requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NPervez (talk) 09:29, 24 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please...

[edit]

Thanks for starting all these articles about actors and singers and for the photographs. But can I ask you please to put a little more work into the articles you start, even if they are stubs. Writing only a few notes rather than complete sentences, and failing to cite a reliable source, not only means that they are seriously in danger of being deleted, but also that a lot of other editors have to put in a huge amount of work very fast to rescue them. It also takes up administrators' time, as they have to check all the deletion notices. Also, if you are using non-English sources, make sure that you understand the language. For example, you had stated that Enrico Rossi was an opera singer based on an Italian and a German source,[1], when in reality he was an actor and a playwright. I've moved the article to Ernesto Rossi (actor) and rescued it. Unfortunately, I didn't see Teresa Furtado in time and it got deleted. I'll see if I can re-create it. My intension whas to start this article, and i hope that people makes a better version.GjR
We appreciate that, GjR, but please try to add some more complete information when you start a new article, as Voceditenore said. Otherwise, the article may be deleted, and it makes it difficult for other people to help you. Please sign messages on your talk page by adding ~~~~ at the end of your messages. Please read the links that I posted for you near the top of this page. Best regards, -- Ssilvers (talk) 14:34, 28 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Pages on actors

[edit]

Hello. I came across some of your new articles on actors--looks like you're doing a great job. I'm not sure if you're aware by now, but would you mind adding the Wikiproject Theatre banner to the talk pages of any articles that you create? It makes it easier for a project member to find the articles, as well as indicating to non-theatre-interested people that there is a forum in which any issues of notability, etc., might be raised. You might like to cut and paste from one that I've added on one of the articles you've created (though you'd need to change the name in the "list as" parameter each time... see Talk:Ada Ward.
