Cruel Summer (GOOD Music album)
Hello! I see that the Cruel Summer (GOOD Music album) article keeps getting recreated, with the sources still nothing more than press releases and others associated with the content. My opinion is that it still does not meet WP:NALBUMS, and almost certainly will not until the album is released and has independent reviews at least. Can you take a look and see if G4 is still applicable? I will drop a note at the article talk page as well. Cheers! --Tgeairn (talk) 15:47, 3 August 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry for the late reply. Yeah, it still applies. I deleted it and salted it for 3 weeks. Cheers for you too! —GFOLEY FOUR!— 01:40, 6 August 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks! I appreciate the extra look. Have a good one... Tgeairn (talk) 06:49, 6 August 2012 (UTC)
- Although there appear to be speculative rumours, the album tracklist is still unknown and the release date is on its 5th(?) version. Can you add another couple week's protection? One of the rumoured release dates is 18-Sep, if that helps guide the length. --Tgeairn (talk) 15:26, 31 August 2012 (UTC)
- I've protected it until the 15th of September. Thanks for alerting me, Tgeairn. —GFOLEY FOUR!— 00:48, 1 September 2012 (UTC)

(outdent)Just to let you know after you protected Cruel Summer (GOOD Music album), it was recreated at the redirect Cruel Summer (album). I started a move request if you would like to voice your opinion in the matter at Talk:Cruel Summer (album)#Requested move. Aspects (talk) 05:18, 19 September 2012 (UTC)
Request for being blocked
- Hello,
- I have seen your username on "Wikipedia administrators willing to consider placing self-requested blocks". Therefore, I request you to forbid me from Wikipedia forever. And also empty my user and talk pages. If the deadline is compulsory, the ban for 100 years is enough. So, I don't think I'll live for more than 100 years. :)
- I'd be glad if it would be a bit quicker.
- Thanks. Barayev (talk) 03:43, 18 August 2012 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, I don't normally accept self-requested blocks for editors who aren't really established (you only have 107 edits). You can mark your user talk page with
{{retired}}
and/or use the WP:Wikibreak Enforcer to "block yourself". Sorry I can't be of more assistance. —GFOLEY FOUR!— 03:57, 18 August 2012 (UTC)

Articles for Creation urgently needs YOUR help!
Articles for Creation is desperately short of reviewers! We are looking for urgent help, from experienced editors, in reviewing submissions in the pending submissions queue. Currently there are 1805 submissions waiting to be reviewed and many help requests at our Help Desk.
If the answer to these questions is yes, then please read the reviewing instructions and donate a little of your time to helping tackle the backlog. You might wish to add {{AFC status}} or {{AfC Defcon}} to your userpage, which will alert you to the number of open submissions.
We would greatly appreciate your help. Currently, only a small handful of users are reviewing articles. Any help, even if it's just 2 or 3 reviews, it would be extremely beneficial. |
Hi, Gfoley. Per my watchlist I saw your recent self-revert on this article. I had previously reverted (as have others) the changes to the history section of this article as the changes removed cited content as well as introduced factual errors. Based on my belief that the changes were the work of a user, or users, that have been disrupting Singaporean articles for several years, I briefly protected the article. It's my opinion that my protection was not enforcing "my version" of the article due to the disruptive nature of the edits being reverted. I will be undoing your self-revert but will not re-protect the article until you have a chance to offer an opinion.
In case you have not seen the posts regarding the Singaporean articles that I've been boring the community with for almost two years, check these: [1] and [2].
I'll watch here if you have any opinion to share. See ya 'round Tiderolls 09:02, 19 August 2012 (UTC)
- Ok, that is all fine with me. I did not know any of the background. Thanks for alerting me. Cheers, —GFOLEY FOUR!— 19:26, 19 August 2012 (UTC)
Holland Avene (NYC station)
I don't know what timetables you were looking at, but here's more proof of the existance of the former Holland Avenue (NYC station). ----DanTD 03:06, 23 August 2012 (UTC)
- Well, yes, I know it exists. The article even mentions the Holland Avenue. The North White Plains Station is at the same spot as Holland Avenue (the name appears to be interchangeable), and it was built as a replacement. So, because of that, I don't think it needed to be mentioned in the s-rail. —GFOLEY FOUR!— 03:19, 23 August 2012 (UTC)
- Yeah, but I had the impression it was like a block or two away, though. ----DanTD 16:26, 23 August 2012 (UTC)
- Ok. I still think unless someone creates the Holland Avenue article on it's own (then we could move the s-rail off North White Plains) the s-rail shouldn't mention it. —GFOLEY FOUR!— 20:15, 23 August 2012 (UTC)

Cruel Summer (GOOD Music album) Revisisted
This third-party post contains both the cover and the tracklisting...also, given that the label itself and many artists are indeed notable, I would propose you be more lenient with the salting...you have it up until a mere THREE DAYS before the album comes out (and I trust it will leak before then). Tom Danson (talk) 00:24, 2 September 2012 (UTC)
- Fair enough. I will change it to expire a full week before the album is scheduled to be released. —GFOLEY FOUR!— 00:37, 2 September 2012 (UTC)
- Kind of irrelevant, as an end-run was done using the old Ace of Base album at Cruel Summer (album). The new creation there may have addressed the AfD issues, but could use another set of eyes to determine. Cheers! --Tgeairn (talk) 04:40, 4 September 2012 (UTC)

Blocking users for 31 hours
I just saw you block an IP user (rightfully so) for 31 hours. Why block for 31 hours (it's kind of an arbitrary number in my opinion)? –– Anonymouse321 (talk • contribs) 03:18, 20 October 2012 (UTC)
- The reasoning that many admins use it for a first-offense block is that it keeps the user from vandalizing at the same time they were yesterday. For example, some users would vandalize during a class they have everyday at the same time. So, if you block for several hours more, the user can't vandalize at their "usual" time. Does that make sense? I also did a quick search and found this that explains it a bit more. —GFOLEY FOUR!— 03:27, 20 October 2012 (UTC)
- Interesting... Thank you – I was very puzzled. –– Anonymouse321 (talk • contribs) 03:29, 20 October 2012 (UTC)
- Sure, no problem! —GFOLEY FOUR!— 03:31, 20 October 2012 (UTC)

Revert delete redirect on LVCS
Hi, you messaged me about deleting the redirect. I deleted it as the redirect was/is wrong. The LVCS is in no way part of the LVJUSD (http://www.livermoreschools.com/) and that is wrong information. The LVCS is a charter school run by the TVLC charter district (http://www.trivalleylearning.org/) while the LVJUSD is the public school district in the city. They are actually at odds most of them time. 24.4.29.155 (talk) 09:17, 21 October 2012 (UTC)
- Hi, I appreciate the concern for the redirect, but unfortunately just blanking a redirect won't delete it. The proper way to delete redirects is to follow the instructions at WP:RFD and list the page for deletion. If you're having trouble making the RFD, I can create it for you. —GFOLEY FOUR!— 17:47, 21 October 2012 (UTC)
- Could you please do that for me? I'm not really good at wikipedia 24.4.29.155 (talk) 21:24, 21 October 2012 (UTC)
- Sure. I have created the RFD at this location. You may want to watch that page as users may have questions about the deletion. The discussion will go on for 7 days and will be deleted/kept after that according to consensus. —GFOLEY FOUR!— 03:36, 22 October 2012 (UTC)

Probably you deleted the page because it was made by a banned user. Can you please send me the source to my sandbox I want to remake the page. This is the only princely state which does not have a article. I will like to make that one.Solomon7968 (talk) 12:10, 26 October 2012 (UTC)
- I have moved the page to User:Solomon7968/sandbox. I would suggest adding on to that as the article currently isn't much. —GFOLEY FOUR!— 20:42, 26 October 2012 (UTC)
I understand that the article is already protected, but I was asking about the length of the protection being changed based on the event that caused the vandalism and subsequent protection. Was that not the place to bring up that sort of thing? - Purplewowies (talk) 09:26, 19 November 2012 (UTC)
- Argh, sorry about that. While you can ask for changed protections/unprotections at RFPP, it is best to ask the protecting admin. In this case the admin was Gimmetrow, so please ask them on their talk page. —GFOLEY FOUR!— 23:10, 19 November 2012 (UTC)
Stuyvesant (NYC station)
You've done your share of S-Line routeboxes for the New York Central Railroad's Water Level Route. Which stations were north and south of Stuyvesant Railroad Station, and where can I get this info myself? ---------User:DanTD (talk) 00:27, 29 November 2012 (UTC)
- Looks like it's Schodack Landing and Newton Hook. The way I find the stations is that I own a 1941 edition of The Official Guide of the Railways. This shows all timetables for railroads all over the U.S. – 1500 pages in all. If you're interested in it, I'm sure you could find one online. —GFOLEY FOUR!— 00:35, 29 November 2012 (UTC)
- It appears I'd have to order a huge copy of this. Even the CD-ROMs aren't that cheap. On the other hand, look what I found. ---------User:DanTD (talk) 12:31, 2 December 2012 (UTC)

Michigan Central Railroad stations
You did quite a bit of work on the Lake Shore and Michigan Southern Railway station list. Have you considered something similar for the Michigan Central Railroad? ---------User:DanTD (talk) 16:52, 4 December 2012 (UTC)
- I don't think I've done too much of work on the LS&MS station list, but alas, I don't think I'll create one for the Michigan Central as it is very time consuming and hard to make a quality one. —GFOLEY FOUR!— 02:12, 6 December 2012 (UTC)
- Ehh, well maybe it'd be a future task for the TWP To-Do list. -------User:DanTD (talk) 19:21, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

Remsen Depot Revisited
Regarding your sandbox for the Remsen Depot, you can always combine an NRHP-CP infobox with the existing one, since it serves as a contributing property of the New York Central Railroad Adirondack Division Historic District. Two LIRR examples can be found in St. James (LIRR station) and Southampton (LIRR station), but there are plenty of other stations that are merely NRHP-CP's. ---------User:DanTD (talk) 16:09, 18 December 2012 (UTC)
