Request reason:

Apologies for using a non-permitted username. I was unaware that it's not permitted to create accounts on behalf of a business. There was no intention to spam or promote the business illegitimately. This was not an attempt to create backlinks to the site or offend anyone. The article was created purely to contribute to the encyclopedic purpose of wikipedia and document the research and development made by the business. Even though this is an article of a business, there was no intention of promoting the products in a non-constructive way. On this article, there were a lot of minor updates to the page and by the time it was blocked, it was incomplete and did not reflect its purpose. As a new user that hasn't contributed to wikipedia before and whilst being focused on updating the page to add constructive information regarding the history of the business, i missed the warnings placed on the account. I am hoping you understand that even though the page was created by a company, that wasn't done with a sinister intetion. I am certainly willing to make any necessary changes to prove this is not an advertisement and would welcome any feedback or updates you believe are necessary.

@NeilN: @Cahk: This account was created without knowledge of the COI rules. Upon reading the articles provided and further reads on the COI rules, i would like to request the opportunity to have the account restored, so i can restructure the article and submit it for approval instead of publishing it myself. I was unaware of the sandbox feature and i now know i should have used it, rather than saving each minor change. Additionally, i'd like to confirm there is a COI on this particular article, however i'll be removing any ambiguous paragraph and and add citation from independent sources instead of using content from the business website. Managing a conflict of interest

Hi @NeilN:, i do now. I have to admit, Wikipedia is probably the most restrictive online platform i have come across and those policies came as a massive surprise to me - although upon reading about them, i do understand the reasons for having them. One thing i'm slightly unsure still, is whether it would be permitted to post an article that i have a COI, once I've removed all backlinks, ensured it's written in a non-promotional and neutral tone, added all necessary disclosures and more importantly, requested approval for it? As the COI rules are so restrictive, i'm unsure how Wikipedia would ever receive internal information that wouldn't be widely available otherwise? To clarify, i'm not referring to secret/restricted info, but rather details like the ownership, certifications, charity work, all the research made in the background, etc. Most of this info would not be easily known by people that are not affiliated in some way. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Geonlag (talk • contribs) 17:52, 11 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

A couple things. First, using WP:AFC is the best way to create an article about a subject where you have a COI. It will create it in draft space where an experienced editor will look it over for issues and move it to article space if none are found. Second, we are an encyclopedia that provides a summation of important information about a topic. We are not a business directory. We decide what is important by looking at what independent secondary sources have written about a topic. If a newspaper article has covered an award given to the company, then it might be included in the article. If only the company and charity have mentioned its charity work, then that content will likely stay out. --NeilN ^{talk to me} 18:13, 11 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I see. I will keep this in mind. WP:AFC will be the way forward then.
