Athens city and urban area
[edit]Hello GRaccount123!. I think in Athens case the urban area corresponding identical to the city limits (not the municipality) and a lot of scientific literature correct this 2A02:587:4415:800:C9AE:F549:E362:175C (talk) 13:10, 30 March 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for your words, but I would not consider the whole Athens urban area to be the city of Athens as this would be like saying that the whole Ruhr area (consisting of cities like Dortmund, Bochum, Duisburg, etc.) is a city. Urban areas are, for most large cities, the extensions of cities as they include nearby and smaller cities, towns and villages (suburbs) as well. GRaccount123 (talk) 13:20, 30 March 2023 (UTC)
In the case of Athens the metro area is the nearby suburbs like Paiania Rafina etc. The continuous build up (the city) is the urban area in this case. Not confuse the current administration state of the city with dozens of small size municipalities. Maybe they copy the multimunicipality administration state of the ancient athens (Acropolis was itself in 3 municipalities) but in wrong way.--2A02:587:4415:800:C9AE:F549:E362:175C (talk) 14:23, 30 March 2023 (UTC)
