The WikiProject Professional wrestling newsletter Issue I - November 11, 2007

Project News Montreal Screwjob was featured on the Main Page as "Today's featured article" on November 9, 2007. December to Dismember (2006) and Shelton Benjamin have been elevated to Featured article status. Their respective nomination pages can see viewed here and here. Bobby Eaton is currently a Featured Article candidate. It's nomination page can be found here. Images of Beth Phoenix and the Crippler Crossface are currently Featured picture candidates. Their respective nomination pages can be found here and here. IWGP World Heavyweight Championship and NWA World Women's Championship are currently Featured list candidates. Their respective nomination pages can be found here and here. Al Costello, In Your House 1: Premiere and One Night Stand (2005) have been elevated to Good article status. Cyber Sunday (2007), Melina Perez, One Night Stand (2006) and Randy Orton are currently Good article candidates.

Current Events Solofa Fatu (known as Junior Fatu, and previously as Rikishi) was released from Total Nonstop Action Wrestling on October 25 2007 over a financial dispute, ending his short lived return to television. John Layfield's wife takes serious heat over Citigroup financial advice on November 1 2007. Brooke Adams (known simply as Brooke) was released from World Wrestling Entertainment on November 1 2007. Lilian Ellison (known as The Fabulous Moolah) passed away November 2 2007 at age 84. Chris Mordetsky and Harry Smith (known as Chris Masters and D.H. Smith, respectively) were suspended from World Wrestling Entertainment as of November 2 2007 for Wellness Policy violations. Mordetsky was released from his contract six says later.

Collaboration of the Week The Pro Wrestling Collaboration of the Week for November 11 - November 17 is World Wrestling Entertainment. Please help to improve it to match the quality of an ideal Wikipedia professional wrestling related article. The next article for collaboration will be chosen on Sunday, November 18. From the Editor Welcome to the inaugural edition of the WikiProject Professional wrestling newsletter! I hope this will be a good source of news to those people interested in what's happening around our pro wrestlimg community. I plan to release it every Sunday. This newsletter will just be a way to get the community announcements to people who don't have the time to check the mesageboards, as well that to those just curious about the news. The newsleter will consist of a project news section (to do with what's happening on Wikipedia), and a current events section (relating to news in the "real world"). The newslette will also contain the Collaboration of the Week announcement. That's all. Project News New Year's Revolution (2007) is currently a Featured article candidate. Its nomination page can be found here. AJPW Unified World Tag Team Championship is currently a Featured list candidate. Its nomination page can be found here. SummerSlam (1994) and Royal Rumble (2005) have been listed for Peer review. Please review these articles and make suggestions on how they can be improved before they are nominated for Good Article status. Their respective peer reviews can be found here and here. Briscoe Brothers and King of the Ring (1994) have been elevated to Good article status. No Way Out (2004) is a currently Good article candidate. 2007 WWE Draft failed its nomination for Featured list status. The discussion can be found here Member News Based on the members list, there are currently 317 members participating in WikiProject Professional wrestling. Based on the active members list, there are currently 31 members currently active in WikiProject Professional wrestling. Several wrestling news sites report that former Total Nonstop Action Wrestling stars Ron Killings and Chris Harris have been in talks with WWE. In addition The Big Show is said to be returning as well. Be on the look out for unsourced claims of these signing being added to their respective articles as well as the WWE Roster article. As of January 7, deturning Smackdown! Diva, Ashley Massaro has been drafted to the Raw brand.
