Calligraphy
[edit]Hello,
I made this : Calligraphy#Western calligraphy
According to a French book :
- V. Sabard, V. Geneslay, L. Rébéna, Calligraphie latine, initiation, ed. Fleurus, Paris. 7th edition, 2004, page 8 to 11.
I think this historical overview is a good starting point about western (latin) calligraphy, but you seem really more experimented that me on the subject, and it may be good to correct and improve this section, especially to add 5 sentences explaning "What are the feartures of Western calligraphy" and 5 sentences about modern artistic calligraphy, as the last evolution (but don' t make it too long). Then, to work further, it is need to expand the Western calligraphy article.
If yourself, or one of your friend may contribute to this serie, that's welcome !

- I agree, it's better to use several books, and you are welcome to add sources to the current Western section.
- But we are here [in the article Calligraphy] doing a presentation, an introduction with a basic level. Your text was too "expert like" and too long for this "Calligraphy" article which have to introduce with a friendly level about 8 to 10 kind of Calligraphies. Your contribution had here a level too hight for the local need. Your long and expert text is more welcome in a specialized article.
- The situation is ambarassing for me since I'm perfectly conscient that you have an really better level than me on this issue, but we need a short introduction, overviewving the main historical styles, the currents development, and the tools only. Other modern consideration are too expert for this place, while they are perfectly welcome in the article Western calligraphy.
- Your contribution was not put in the best place but is really good, I just moved it to the more accurate place.
- In the student role, I please you (the "teacher") to understand this situation and that I acted in the way I sincerely think to be the best way to do. Yug (talk) 09:22, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
- I just edited your article to change from the Hardvard citation style to the web wiki citation style. Western calligraphy That was in fact easy, since you made a really methodic work of citation (thanks !). I think your article may now candidate to get the 'Good article' or even the 'Quality article' statue. I will propose its candidacy.
- Regards and thanks,

File permission problem with File:Alison3.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Alison3.jpg, which you've attributed to Lauretta Goode. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
