Signing articles
[edit]Welcome to WP. Please do not sign articles that you write. Articles are not owned by their editor(s), and Wikipedia already provides complete edit history. Coren 23:16, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
Good work on the article about the fonder of FSU's film school. You might want to try and expand the article by talking about his personal life or his work building up the film program. Black Harry 00:05, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
Garrison Dundas
[edit]The article Garrison Dundas has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.
Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki 14:10, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
Same for Pamela Punkar. People are not notable enough for encyclopedia entries just because they gave money to Florida State and got their name on a brick or bench. NawlinWiki 16:24, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
AfD nomination of Leo Sandon
[edit]An editor has nominated Leo Sandon, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Leo Sandon and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. FSU biographies
[edit]Dear Florio, ou have been writing a large number of articles on the faculty at your university--an excellent project. But there is no point in doing the project unless you write the articles sufficiently fully that they will not get immediately deleted from wikipedia. Please read WP:N and WP:PROF, and realize the standard of documentation required. For researchers, you need to give the major publications. for those notable as teachers or otherwise, you need to fulfill those more general requirements. It is a not unreasonable feeling that when such a group of articles are inserted, proper care may not have been taken to select only the suitable ones, and perfectly reasonable WP editors are understandably inclined to delete them.
- I and many other WP eds. feel it our responsibility to save WP articles on notable people from deletion, even if it means doing some of the work ourselves. But you have done so many that we are having difficulty keeping up. Please take a pause in this, and improve the articles that you have already done rather than adding more. then, when you resume, do so more slowly and more carefully . Read the discussions at AfD for your articles, and read the ones that we have been revising for you. Understand what is needed, and do it right. I'll be glad to help you, and I'm sure other will as well. DGG 04:43, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
- I did warn you about this, now is your chance to fix up the others that have been nominated for deletion, such as Mary Hicks and Steve Edwards (Physicist) See my user talk page for a summary of what is needed. DGG (talk) 03:24, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
Duplicate Image:Monumentpondgreen.JPG
[edit]Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Monumentpondgreen.JPG, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Monumentpondgreen.JPG is a duplicate of an already existing article, category or image.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Image:Monumentpondgreen.JPG, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. To see the user who deleted the page, click here CSDWarnBot (talk) 00:11, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Florio Stacy Unitas! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to this article, it would greatly help us with the current 3 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:
- Steve Edwards (physicist) - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
Thanks!--DASHBot (talk) 21:19, 2 January 2010 (UTC)

Image source problem with File:Mina Jo Powell Dedication Front.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Mina Jo Powell Dedication Front.jpg.
This image is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such images would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a screenshot of a computer game or movie. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original image must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.
While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright.
If you have uploaded other derivative works, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F4 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 18:10, 6 November 2024 (UTC). If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Ирука13 18:10, 6 November 2024 (UTC)
File copyright problem with File:MJP Dedication Inside.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:MJP Dedication Inside.jpg.
This file is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such images would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a screenshot of a computer game or movie. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original image must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.
While the file description page states the source and copyright status of the derivative work, it only names the creator of the original work without specifying the status of their copyright over the work.
Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the original image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have uploaded other derivative works, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. Thanks again for your cooperation. — Ирука13 15:40, 29 November 2024 (UTC)
